Kai leaned back in his chair after ending the call, ‘Zach, I’m curious to see the lengths you’ll take to keep your secret for her sake.’ He once believed Zach had no weaknesses. Kai held the real report in
his hand, while the one Yvonne saw was fake.
His thoughts were interrupted by a knock. The door opened, revealing a nurse, “Dr. Stewart, this came from Hope Haven Community Hospital.”
“Give it to me.” Kai swiftly tore open the document. His eyes widened, ‘They aren’t related by blood?’ he thought. ‘I was sure about Zach’s blood test. He’s Hayson’s son. Then why isn’t he related to Madelyn?’ Feeling puzzled, he paused to think, ‘Did I get something wrong? No, I couldn’t have.’ He then had a sudden realization, ‘If everything else is correct, maybe Madelyn isn’t really Hayson’s daughter after all.’
