Chapter 242 - 242 Waiting
242 Waiting
After Yue Jiaojiao dealt with the wound on her wrist, she lowered her head to unbuckle the rope around her and Li Xiangjun’s feet. After doing all this, she stood up quietly and stretched her body. She leaned against the wall and groped around.
“The window is blocked with wooden planks.” Yue Jiaojiao and Li Xiangjun sat against the corner of the wall and lowered their voices. “There are people guarding outside, so I don’t think we should forcefully open the doors. Otherwise, if they find out that we can move freely, they might tie us up again and separate us.”
“Xiangjun, did you take the opportunity to leave anything on the way here?”
“No.” Li Xiangjun shook her head honestly. “Usually I can fight back, but I couldn’t break free from the two people who caught me today. I didn’t even have the time to make a sound before I was tied up tightly by them, and by then I came here.”
“When I got off the carriage, I took off one of my shoes and hid it in the corner. I don’t know if anyone noticed,” Yue Jiaojiao’s voice was so soft that it almost sounded like a gust of air. “My skirt is long enough to cover my feet. If those people are smart enough to check their surroundings again, they probably would be able to find it.”
“I don’t know if Fang Tianliu is reliable. That guy’s brain is only filled with food.” Li Xiangjun couldn’t help but criticize him. “I suddenly disappeared, I don’t know if he was scared.”
Yue Jiaojiao thought of Zhao Zhan. That guy treated her like a precious gem, so he must have gone crazy.
“Xiangjun, are you sleepy?”
“How can I be sleepy at a time like this?” Li Xiangjun moved her wrist and was eager to escape. “I’m pretty sure I’m strong enough to break the wooden board if I have to. I thought about it carefully just now. We didn’t go up the stairs when we came in. We shouldn’t be on the second floor. We wouldn’t be hurt if we jumped out of the window.”
“Don’t be in a hurry. The noise inside will be heard from the outside before we even have the chance to escape.”
Li Xiangjun’s face was gloomy as she leaned closer to Yue Jiaojiao. “So are we just going to sit here and wait for death?”
“We can take a nap first,” Yue Jiaojiao’s brain was spinning rapidly. “I’ve been counting in silence ever since I was locked in here, and then you came. Ever since you came in, I’ve counted the same number three times, but no one else came in. So, the person who kidnapped us should only have a grudge against us.”
“It’s so lively outside tonight. It can’t be that much of a coincidence that only the two of us were caught, right?”
“Maybe Fang Tianliu caused trouble outside and so they took us.” Li Xiangjun pouted and was a little angry at that though. “I don’t know how the people who captured us want to use us to threaten that guy. That guy is so st*pid and acts rashly when threatened.”
“Don’t let your thoughts run wild. Let’s just rest for a while. Since they went through so much trouble to capture us, it’s impossible for them to not appear.”
Yue Jiaojiao’s hands trembled slightly, and her entire body felt weak.
The room was eerie, and the cold air was trying its best to keep her cold. Yue Jiaojiao and Li Xiangjun were leaning against each other, and the two of them were absorbing each other’s warmth in silence.
“Master.”
“How are the people inside?”
“The two of them are very quiet. They haven’t been making any noise.”
The conversation outside caused Yue Jiaojiao to wake up from her nap with a frown. She quickly pushed Li Xiangjun. “Xiangjun, wake up. Someone’s coming.”
