Chu Feng nodded in agreement because he did, in fact, want to visit the north pole and see the Origin Magnetic Immortal Cave.

"Great master, this way," Li Xinghe spoke with a smile, asking Qian Jia to return to Mount Putuo on his own.

The old monk ignored Li Xinghe and proceeded to placed his hands together in prayer. A sound rang out in Chu Feng’s mind, "I’ll send you back to Mount Wudang."

Chu Feng was startled because he had discerned the helplessness in the senior monk’s tone. It was likely that the old monk had been threatened. After a period of silence, he had finally decided not to compromise.

These young people seemed amiable but were actually quite harsh.

The old monk was upright and wasn’t willing to leave Chu Feng because he knew these gently domineering people wanted to capture the latter.

They were all smiling politely, but they were, in fact, very tyrannical. Their requests were tactful but they would make sure the other party followed their assertion.

Doubtlessly, these four were such people. There was a certain tyranny within their gentleness and their domineering attitude was well hidden.

Chu Feng gave it some thought before transmitting back, "It’s fine master, don’t hesitate to leave."

His spiritual waves were "quite weak". This was in accordance with his weakened strength.

Master Qian Jia had lived for over a hundred years and was known as the Buddha’s Disciple. His attainments in martial arts were extreme. Back then, he wasn’t fortunate enough to become a peerless expert.

But he obtained powerful mutant fruits after the snow melted away and the world underwent another upheaval. Now that he had severed his sixth shackle, his skills were excellent and he had even achieved a Buddhist ability!

He was currently very powerful and feared not a challenge. However, he was apprehensive of those people from the Origin Magnetic Immortal Cave. These descended beings were a big hurdle that couldn’t be crossed by the local experts.

Doubtlessly, these extraterrestrials were unfathomable and terrifying.

Since these young people were their descendants, they possessed great backgrounds.

"I can safely escort you back," the old monk’s voice rang out once again. His eyes were firm and resolute. He would persevere even if he had to offend the scions of descended beings.

"Great Master, it’s time for you to be on your way," Li Xinghe smiled faintly as he urged Qian Jia.

Chu Feng felt indignant for the old monk because he already knew the latter was being threatened and was experiencing the tyranny beneath those smiles.

At the same time, he felt himself being humiliated politely. This was definitely equal to kidnapping him.

But Chu Feng didn’t flip out. He felt it was unnecessary to shed all pretenses at the moment because he could slowly play with them along the way.

He definitely wanted to visit the north pole and visit the origin-magnetic cave. If the geography there was suitable he would find a way to deal with the whole nest of extraterrestrials.

Finally, Chu Feng still spoke to Master Qian Jia telepathically, "Master, please return. I appreciate your concern but I’ll be fine."

He spoke very frankly and told the old monk not to worry about him. He was a domain researcher and thus he indeed wanted to pay the north pole a visit.

He wanted to know its geography and what kind of region it was. Since the place those people were sleeping in was actually known as an immortal cave, he felt that there should be other reasons apart from the wondrous magnetic stones.

The old monk felt helpless and finally let out a sigh. He silently turned around and left just like that.

"Great master, farewell. We won’t send you off," Yu Hanzhi said with a smile.

If not for understanding what was going on, Chu Feng would’ve felt that these people weren’t bad. They weren’t arrogant at all despite being the scions of descended beings and seemingly quite approachable.

But their attitudes, after knowing that the old monk was being threatened secretly, were absolutely unbridled. They were extremely unrestrained and domineering!

Chu Feng pretended not to know and set out on the road.

Li Xinghe, Yu Hanzhi, Liu Wucheng, and Xu Mei glanced at each other once with satisfied smiles.

As Chu Feng approached, this top-grade king level avian revealed an arrogant expression and looked down at him with cold eyes.

Chu Feng was unhappy. Even a bird king dared to look at him like this with a cold and arrogant expression.

"Come over!" Chu Feng gestured and called the toad over.

The toad hopped over to the front and just, as before, shot a disdainful sideways glance at the bird king with brightly colored plumage.

The extremely proud bird king was looking at Chu Feng with faint contempt when a toad suddenly appeared to glance sideways at him. This infuriated it greatly.

The bird lifted a claw forward to directly claw the toad to death. So much that even Chu Feng was almost drawn into the whirlwind.

"This is my mount. I’ll leave immediately if it comes to any harm," Chu Feng announced swiftly.

"Halt!" Li Xinghe shouted. He immediately stopped the bird king from wanton killing.

The bird king shot Chu Feng and the toad a cold glance before cocking its head haughtily. "You be careful. I’ll kill you immediately if you act irreverently again."

This was a female bird king. Although seemingly threatening the toad, it was also targeting Chu Feng somewhat.

"Brother Chu, please don’t mind her. Cai Ying is like a sister to us but her temper isn’t too good." Yu Hanzhi laughed.

At the same time, she glanced at the toad with a frown as a faint expression of disgust appeared on her face. Girls had never taken kindly to such animals.

As a result, the toad also reciprocated. Naturally, it was with his signature sidelong glance.

The group was momentarily dumbfounded. The beautiful and smiling Yu Hanzi was somewhat petrified. She would directly stomp this toad to death if she didn’t have something to ask of Chu Feng.

"Then, let us be on our way." Chu Feng nodded.

He then shot the toad a glance and said, "Up you go."

The toad was sharp. Without any objections, he leaped up with a swoosh and wanted to land on the bird king’s back.

"You... how dare you!" The bird king screamed with a shrill female voice. She seemed utterly discomfited as she flapped her wings with full force, kicking up whirlwinds while rapidly flying backwards.

Li Xinghe spoke, "Brother Chu, I think it won’t be necessary for you to bring your mount. With Cai Ying here, tens of thousands of kilometers can be crossed within an instant. Why not just leave it here?"

The toad landed on the ground with an awkward and humiliated expression. It glanced at Chu Feng, knowing this fellow was also quite adept at posing.

Yu Hanzhi was frowning. She seemed to really hate this toad and didn’t want it to dirty their mount. She also advised Chu Feng to leave his mount here.

Chu Feng shook his head. "That won’t do. I met many dangers after being crippled. Not only did this toad save my life but also became my mount. After I became a domain researcher, I swore to bring it with me everywhere and never leave each other’s side."

The toad was stunned. It really wanted to roll its eyes and scream, "Have you no shame?! It was clearly you who captured me and beat me every day into submission!"

Never leave each other’s side my ass! The toad really wanted to swear loudly and stay as far away from Chu Feng as he could. How corny, how shameless!

Of course, Chu Feng was quite natural. At this time, it seemed as if he was rubbing the toad’s head with a gentle smile when, in fact, he was squeezing the toad’s eyes, preventing it from looking askance at Chu Feng.

Li Xinghe and Liu Wucheng were fine but the expressions of Yu Hanzhi and Xu Mei seemed rather stiff. They forcefully endured their unhappiness and agreed to bring the toad along.

Swoosh!

Much to Cai Ying’s fury, the toad directly hopped onto her back. The bird king was trembling continuously for she had no choice but to accept this.

"Disgusting toad," she muttered.

In truth, this was also Yu Hanzhi’s heartfelt words. Her eyes were full of undisguised loathing but she forcefully contained the urge to explode.

"Croak! Croak! Croak..."

The toad cried out as if in reply. It truly knew how to generate hate.

"Don’t be so repulsed by it. Look at its skin! It’s just as lustrous as jade and suffused with a faint golden glow. I actually think it’s a divine beast, but it’s been cursed. From a certain perspective, you can say I’m a divine knight, albeit crippled."

Chu Feng began to speak nonsense, making Yu Hanzhi’s expression even uglier.

Li Xinghe laughed. "Brother Chu is truly an interesting person."

Naturally, he was forcing himself to say this. What divine beast? Go to hell! It would still be understandable if it was a three-legged golden toad, but this one was clearly just an ordinary toad.

Xu Mei smiled tenderly. Her large eyes sparkled brightly while her small waist and abdomen were fair and lustrous. "Perhaps it really is a divine beast."

The toad raised its head arrogantly as if it could look down on the whole world. Its posture almost seemed to be saying, "Did you only just discover that I’m a divine beast?"

In truth, Yu Hanzhi wanted to kill this toad with a single kick. Its attitude was simply courting death.

They traveled due north as fast as lightning. The bird king, her heart was full of indignance, kept on accelerating continuously and reached frightening speeds.

She did possess extreme speeds—none of those supersonic bombs and flying vehicles even came close. She ground her teeth the whole way and after decelerating to rest for a while, she would raise her flying speed once again.

After a couple of hours, they began to enter the vast northern plains at the border of Inner and Outer Mongolia.

"Stop, we land on the plains," said Yu Hanzhi.

"Weren’t we headed to the north pole?" Chu Feng enquired.

Even Li Xinghe and Liu Wucheng looked towards her with odd expressions.

"It’s suspected that there’s an entrance here. We can attempt to enter from this place," Yu Hanzhi spoke.

Li Xinghe nodded and turned towards Chu Feng. "Brother Chu, we don’t wish to conceal it from you. We are about to investigate a certain cave residence. It’s a holy land that used to be extremely glorious."

But he asked Yu Hanzhi in secret, "The plan was to start from the entrance at the north pole, wasn’t it?"

"No rush, I want to check his skills. If he isn’t quite at the level we need, then it’s useless even if we bring him to the north pole. Additionally, there’s definitely an entrance here worth trying out," Yu Hanzhi replied in secret.

Li Xinghe, Yu Hanzhi, Liu Wencheng, and Xu Mei discussed telepathically and finally reached an agreement. They would start from here.

"What orthodoxy does it belong to?"

"One that used to illuminate the whole cosmos and starry ocean. It was revered by all heavens and myriad realms offered sacrifices to it. Its strength is absolutely unimaginable." Xu Mei licked her bright red lips.

"Indeed, it’s an orthodoxy that once shook the whole universe and elevated earth to a terrifying rank. The remnants of such a sect was definitely worth excavating." The previously silent Liu Wencheng, clad in sportswear, also nodded in agreement.

Yu Hanzhi added seductively, "Brother Chu, we might be able to find certain heaven-defying medicines within these ruins. It would allow you to recover and, once again, step on the path of evolution!"

In the end, they landed on the grasslands and arrived in front of a stone mountain.

There was green grass as far as the eye could see. This was the only stone mountain in the vicinity.

Li Xinghe told Chu Feng that the entrance was here. This tomb of a primordial divine khan[1] was built to suppress an even more ancient pathway.

It was obvious that they had come here many times before but had always returned empty-handed. There were domains here. An ineffable force would block them from proceeding underground.

Chu Feng frowned after arriving. It could be said that his knowledge in the field was very vast. He had studied not only the Domain Heavenly Book from the Extraterrestrial Research Institute but also the Dragoness’ stone carvings and the silver book from Bodhi Biogenetics.

It could be said that all of them were rare secret books that touched upon different fields. Although he couldn’t be considered profound since he hadn’t researched them thoroughly but his knowledge and experience were extraordinary.

Thus, after arriving here, Chu Feng immediately noticed that this place wasn’t simple. The geography here was extraordinary.

A single isolated mountain of stone amidst the boundless grasslands connecting towards the sky and cosmos.

"Actually, it’s a gigantic headstone," said Liu Wencheng.

According to them, there was a divine khan during ancient times. The earth, back then, hadn’t yet declined completely. This tyrant of the grasslands was a terrifying expert among evolved beings and his strength was all-encompassing.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been worshipped as a divine khan.

Chu Feng was amazed. He had never heard of such a story. These extraterrestrial scions were actually able to find out such records. It seemed the resources and connections they possessed were terrifying.

He could only sigh. He realized that institutions specializing in excavation like the Pre-Qin Research Institute and the Archaic Alliance were probably working together with these people.

Li Xinghe continued, "Our guess is that this divine khan became so powerful because he had obtained some bits and pieces of the most powerful orthodoxy on earth. There must be a reason why his tomb is built on top of the entrance."

Chu Feng became alert. He knew that since these people dared to tell him all these things, they definitely wouldn’t let him return to roam the human society.

They had set their eyes on him and would force him to serve the Origin Magnetic Immortal Cave. It was likely that he would be silenced immediately after they had found all the inheritances they were looking for.

Chu Feng revealed an odd expression but, naturally, he wasn’t afraid of them.

From his point of view, working with these extraterrestrials wasn’t so bad. With them scouting the way ahead for such ruins, he would be able to obtain unimaginable benefits after a successful excavation.

Chu Feng wandered around this thousand-meter tall rock and revealed a surprised expression. This wasn’t a headstone at all but an apparatus to attract solar power.

This was a land of extreme yang. It was absolutely frightening!

Once ignited, the sky would be covered by nine suns amidst the cries of the golden crow. The scene would be terrifying!

However, he was delighted instead of being afraid because he felt that he could attempt and perhaps really open it.

There were records of such a topography in one of his secret books.

The others revealed odd expressions after seeing Chu Feng measure every inch of this land with all due seriousness.

"He’s rather obedient and easy to manipulate," said Li Xinghe. A faint smile appeared on his countenance. Presently, his attitude of respect for the wise had disappeared, replaced by a certain arrogance.

They were at a sufficient distance and believed Chu Feng, in his crippled state, wouldn’t be able to hear them.

"He’s quite tactful. Otherwise, we don’t mind using extreme methods to make him investigate domains while kneeling." Liu Wencheng didn’t speak much but his words were quite impactful.

"I want to kill that toad. And that Chu Feng needs to suffer too!" The bird king Cai Ying was in her human form, a young lady with an exceptional appearance.

"Rest assured, we’ll let you vent your anger. We’ll toss that toad into the divine khan’s tomb first and let it die a miserable death." Yu Hanzhi laughed and then shot a sidelong glance at Chu Feng before adding, "We still need to use this man. He has great value so we can’t touch him for the time being. We’ll only consider silencing him after he has displayed all his capabilities."

She spoke casually as if she already had Chu Feng’s fate laid out for him. Her demeanor was cold and arrogant, a stark difference from her previous kind attitude.

Chu Feng heard everything clearly from the distance. His divine instincts were simply too sharp and surpassed all these people. He was merely pretending not to hear but there was a smirk on his face.

Since these people had such plans for him, he naturally wouldn’t hesitate to "thank" them for bringing him here. He would definitely help them find an ancient tomb.

...

[1] Khan is a title for Mongolian warlords as in Genghis Khan.
