Chapter 377: Rescuing Percival
Chapter 377: Rescuing Percival
....
On that note, if one cultivated their Essence Soul with enough high-level herbs and increased the quality of the Essence Soul, then one would be able to get their Essence Soul quite close to the main body in terms of combat strength.
There was also the fact that you could begin to use Soul attacks and Soul Techniques when you had officially achieved the Soul Transformation Realm.
These 'Soul' related abilities could also be utilized by the Essence Soul and could be combined with other 'Non-Soul' related techniques and skills as long as one was proficient enough.
With all of this combined and assuming that you have cultivated the quality of your Essence Soul to a proficient enough level, your 'Essence Soul' after leaving your body could act as a whole new clone of yourself.
In addition, the 'clone' would possess a strength infinitely nearing your main body!
"..." Azmond finished his scrutiny of his Essence Soul before he looked at his enormous Core.
After so many increases in cultivation, his Core had reached an absolutely massive size!
And with that size came an insane boost to his energy reserves, as he could effectively cast his strongest skills for weeks on end!
Unless he purposely used up all his energy in one attack, he'd be able to continue fighting until either he died or his opponent died.
It was because of this confidence in his energy storage that Azmond wasn't too worried about fighting so many enemies one after the other in order to level up.
Furthermore, even on the off chance that he did run completely dry on energy and Qi, he could simply restore more of it with his equally ludicrous energy restoration speed!
All in all, he was a complete machine when it came to fighting, and this trait of his only seemed to become more and more apparent the further he climbed the realms of power.
Soon enough, he would be forced to leave Asterion just so he could find a battle worth fighting.
Nonetheless, that point wasn't now and would likely not come until years into the future, so he left that 'problem' for the future him to worry about.
.....
After getting a feel for the tremendous strength boosts that he acquired from all aspects of his existenceincluding his lawsAzmond decided to put all his focus into the matter concerning the father of Calista and Clawdia, otherwise known as 'Percival Moonweaver'.
*****
In a pitch-black space with sporadic and seemingly arbitrary flashes of red light shooting throughout, a shriveled-up man was standing up inside a dangling cage.
The cage itself was thousands of meters in diameter, and on the inside of the cage were thousands upon thousands of spikes, all of which were extended in the direction of a lone and decrepit man.
He was prodded and stabbed through every part of his body as crimson-colored blood leaked, covering his two-meter-large body.
The man had facial features that would make one think that he was once handsome and dignified, maybe even a ruler; however, the spikes stuck in his face had already tarnished the appearance he once possessed.
SHING! SHING! SHING!
The spikes suddenly pulled out of the man as he collapsed to the ground with a thud.
And just as one might assume that he'd obtain some respite after all he's been through, the spikes came back with even greater fervor, as they shot right back into the body of the man!
*Spurt! Spurt!*
The blood that had regenerated inside his body had gushed out once more.
However, despite the extreme pain that he must be going through, he simply stood in suspended motion with a dead and lifeless look in his eyes.
It would appear that it was not the first time that the spikes retracted before slamming back into him, and from his facial expression, one could infer that it was definitely not going to be the last.
'It's always the same thing' The shriveled man thought with a dispirited gleam in his gaze.
'...Getting stabbed so many times has made me numb to the pain but the one thing that hasn't gone numb is my wish to get out of here and make it back to my daughters.'
A small amount of fire nearly came back inside the decrepit man's eyes before it faded away as fast as it appeared.
BZZZTT!
"..."
He felt the spike drain what little remained of his energy reserves, as he was once again reminded of the inescapable cage that had trapped him on that spot for the last couple years.
In all that time, besides the moment he consumed some of his lifeforce to help Clawdia escape, the shriveled man had not moved an inch from his spot in the cage.
And he was likely not going to for the next indefinite period of time.
...
'Couldn't the Overseers have simply left our small family alone? Why must they always intervene in our lives and flaunt their tyrannical power in our faces?'
Percival mulled over the fate of the Moonweaver household with a sullen emotion shining through his aged yet youthful face.
And just as he was about to go back to enduring the never-ending torture with an unexpressive countenance, the space he was in started to shake!
RUMBLE!
"!?" Percival turned his dead gaze up to the tremors coursing through the topmost area of the black and red space.
He thought it was just Amonroth attempting to enter into the pocket dimension; however, when he felt a familiar presence, his eyes brightened up considerably.
Although the aura was far stronger than he last remembered, there was no doubt that it was who he thought it was.
Percival's voice came out in a hoarse and barely audible tone as he muttered, "Clawdia?"
BOOOOOOM!
Following his shrill voice, the top of the pocket dimension exploded open!
Eight figures zipped into the dimension not long after, as they were all headed in the same direction.
His direction
'... What is happening right now?' Percival thought with a look of disbelief.
