David Jones opened his eyes and carefully observed the surrounding environment. He noticed that everything around him was covered in a layer of silvery white.
It seemed that his luck was good; the random teleportation had brought him to this rarely-trodden ice world, probably not far from Mount Heaven’s Snow Poll.
After David determined that the location was safe, he quickly summoned Rainbow from the Star Ring.
Then he circulated Arcane Force to protect himself from the cold, and changed into winter clothes from the Star Ring.
“Whew!” David exhaled a white mist.
This dungeon was really cold!
Fortunately, he was well-prepared. After putting on a padded jacket, his body finally warmed up.
At David’s side was Rainbow, a look of delight on her face.
As an Ice type pet, she found this frosty environment extremely comfortable, feeling as if she was back home.
She could especially sense that the Ice type Arcane Force permeating the dungeon was much denser than in Waterland City.
The active energy alone was enough to increase her cultivation speed by three or four times.
“If we just stay here for two days, maybe I’ll naturally advance!”
David was pleased to perceive this thought from Rainbow. Compared to other Superior pets in their Fresh phase, Rainbow’s awakening time was quite short.
However, she had already accumulated enough potential and learned numerous skills, so advancing at such a rapid pace would not affect her future growth.
“That’s great; maintain this state. Naturally advancing is the best way to break through the Fresh phase!”
David smiled and affectionately rubbed Rainbow’s head.
“Yiya!” (—V–)/(I know!)
Rainbow was also full of anticipation for advancing. She was destined to become her trainer’s strongest ace in the future!
“Alright, the most important treasure in this dungeon is Mount Heaven’s Snow Poll. Let’s find Mount Heaven first.”
David spoke softly, scanning the distant snowy mountains.
No matter where he was currently, as long as he found the highest peak in the dungeon, he would be on the right track.
With this in mind, he looked around at the towering trees covered in a layer of snow and chose the tallest one.
“Rainbow, remember to use Confusion to sense if the environment around you is safe. We’ll locate Mount Heaven by going through this tree.”
“Yiya!” (No problem!)
Rainbow coiled herself around David’s arm, then vigilantly observed her surroundings.
With her Psychic Power, everything nearby became clear to her.
Meanwhile, she analyzed the scents of nearby creatures with her snake tongue.
With Rainbow’s reconnaissance, David could focus on climbing the tree. In no time, he reached the top of the pine tree, dozens of meters high.
Standing at this high vantage point, the view was entirely different from the ground. After scanning around, David successfully located the highest peak.
By observing the direction of the sunlight, shadows, and the melting of snow on the ground, David roughly figured out the direction of his current position.
His destination lay on the snowy mountain range to the north.
“It seems that our luck is quite good today. We just need to cross a few forests to reach the foot of Mount Heaven.”
David said with a smile, as this was great news for him.
“Yiya!” (o“V°)o (Let’s go!)
David held Rainbow in his arms and leaped from the treetop, dozens of meters up in the air.
The fierce cold wind brushed against his face, but he kept his eyes wide open.
Just as they were about to hit the ground, a faint voice rang out.
“Confusion!”
Rainbow’s eyes suddenly brightened, and their falling speed gradually slowed until they finally stopped one meter above the snow-covered ground.
After landing smoothly, a bright smile appeared on David Jones’ face.
If it weren’t for Rainbow’s high energy consumption when using Confusion to fly, which was not conducive to the upcoming dungeon exploration, they could have reached their destination much faster.
“Stay alert, let’s go.” David Jones and Rainbow continued to move northward.
Under Rainbow’s surveillance, their journey into the dungeon was unexpectedly calm. Most of the beasts David Jones encountered along the way were gentle, herbivorous types.
A few aggressive beasts were detected early by Rainbow and successfully avoided.
The two traversed the vast snowfield.
At first, David Jones was quite interested in the snow forest, but after seeing so much of it, he became numb to its beauty.
“Ah!” (? ^? #) (Enemy alert!)
Rainbow suddenly emitted a sharp warning sound.
“Where?”
David Jones stopped walking and immediately stood still, examining the surrounding situation carefully.
At this moment, there was nothing in sight on the vast white snowfield.
“Yiiiyah!” x(—«—;)/ (Under the snow!)
Rainbow vigilantly looked ahead.
David Jones used Identify on the snow in front of him, and eventually noticed something amiss.
Seemingly aware that their ambush had been discovered, two wolves emerged from the thick snow where they had been hiding.
“Ice Concealment? Polar Wolves?” David Jones’ expression changed slightly in disbelief.
These wolf-like beasts resembled Siberian Huskies from his past life in appearance.
However, unlike the often silly-looking Huskies, Polar Wolves could reach a length of 5 meters, were inherently fierce, particularly combative, and carried a fierce temperament.
But what troubled Jones was that all Polar Wolves were grouping heterogeneous beasts.
He could only see two in front of him, but he might have already been surrounded by a pack of wolves.
He wouldn’t be surprised if five to ten more Polar Wolves joined the battlefield out of nowhere later.
“Pet Name”: Polar Wolf
“Pet Type”: Ice
“Species Level”: Intermediate
“Grade”: Fresh VII
“Species Skill”: Frozen Fang, Ice Claw, Breath Search, Ice Concealment
The only good news was that the two wolves in front of him were only a meter tall and less than two meters long, meaning they were just cubs.
It seemed like the previous search by the Guild wasn’t entirely in vain; otherwise, he would have faced a pack of Class I wolves.
“Awoo…”
“Awoo…”
The two wolf cubs in front of David Jones raised their heads and howled, then drooled from the corners of their mouths, eyes cautiously staring at him.
They still had fresh memories of being driven away by these terrifying standing apes not long ago.
Now, encountering a lone standing ape and one that didn’t seem particularly strong, it seemed like the perfect opportunity for revenge.
“As expected, are they calling for their companions?”
Seeing this, David Jones’ heart sank. It turned out he was the unluckiest trainer today, ending up in a wolf pack’s territory.
With several consecutive roars, two more wolves appeared on David Jones’ left and right, and three more behind him.
“A total of nine Polar Wolves! Which newbie trainer wouldn’t run away after seeing such a lineup? What the hell is the Guild doing?” exclaimed David Jones angrily..
