Chapter 647: Chapter 641: Destiny Unmatched
Hearing about the Trial of Fate, David Jones’s action of stroking Daphne’s head paused slightly.
He hadn’t forgotten the trials that a Destiny Sacred Beast must face in the process of awakening the Power of Destiny.
But the question arose, what kind of trials would make the mild-mannered Daphne so scared!
Therefore, David Jones activated his Illusion-Piercing Eye, and through the Beast Taming Contract, he observed the increasingly strong and mysterious ultimate power within Daphne.
It was a power that could scoff at legends, but sadly Daphne needed to pass the trials to fully control it.
“Profile: Destiny Power II: Unique Destiny (Sealed)”: A Class VIII Legendary Destiny Type skill, I am the Master of my Destiny, unparalleled by fate.
The fate of a Destiny Sacred Beast is controlled by none but itself, can exempt any Rule-type Skill that inflicts instant death, and can briefly reflect parts of the river of destiny, vanquishing any enemy (ineffective against those who are Immortal).
Note: The Destiny Sacred Beast can only awaken this ability after completing the second layer of the Trial of Fate, “Removing Filth and Banishing Deception,” and its strength must be above Class VII Overlord.
“Such a terrifying skill! Capable of easily vanquishing even legendary warriors, this truly deserves to be called an ultimate move, seemingly countless times more outrageous than Rainbow’s comprehension of the Ice-Fire Zone. It’s a pity it’s only an object of envy.”
David Jones exhaled a breath of turbid air, focusing his attention on Removing Filth and Banishing Deception.
“Removing Filth and Banishing Deception”: Requires using the Destiny Flame to burn away three major Calamities, then using Destiny Termination to cut off a Calamity-level forbidden zone, expelling and purifying the source of Mystery Power contamination, to successfully pass the second layer of the Trial of Fate.
“What a tough one!” David Jones shook his head, deciding to temporarily give up on the trial.
The difficulty of this layer of the Trial of Fate was beyond just formidable obstacles; it was almost impossible for human effort to reach.
Even legendary warriors considering undertaking the trials would have to think twice about whether they would perish in the attempt.
According to the Trainer Guild’s standards, a Calamity refers to the horrific destruction and infection caused by a Deity Mysterious Beast, and using the Destiny Flame to burn away three major Calamities essentially meant sending Daphne to annihilate three Deity Mysterious Beasts.
As a joke, as far as David Jones knew, dealing with a single Deity Mysterious Beast would require at least several Class VIII Emperor Beasts.
Keep in mind, this is merely to combat them. To defeat or even completely seal away a major Calamity, it would take at least five or six Class VIII Emperor Beasts to complete the task.
Of course, some apex warriors among the Legendary Beast Tamers could also defeat and seal away a Calamity on their own, and even use Immortal Power to completely annihilate a Calamity.
Such combat power is nearly invincible, barely weaker than a Semi-Immortal; such legendary warriors are called Deities by the Trainer Guild.
In David Jones’s view, if it were just about annihilating the three major Calamities, he could very well join the elite troops of the Flowery Kingdom Beast Legion after ascending to an Epic warrior, like the Five Elements Army, which specializes in uprooting Calamities and suppressing Calamity-level forbidden zones.
However, cutting off a Calamity-level forbidden zone is different; places that can be called Calamity-level forbidden zones within the Flowery Kingdom must have a presence as terrifying as the Semi-Fiend, similar to Mother Scarlet, slumbering within.
David Jones wasn’t foolish. Even the Origin Emperor could only seal the Semi-Fiend with the Guarding Mecha, which required an Immortal to counter, an existence far beyond the reach of him and Daphne.
“Don’t be afraid, even if the Trial of Fate begins, it’s alright; we can simply choose not to partake,” David Jones said, extending two fingers to scratch Daphne’s chin, attempting to relieve its tension.
“Meow.” (It’s not that.)
Daphne came back to its senses and clung tightly to David Jones’s palm with its front paws.
What it feared was not the Trial of Fate but the immense and endless river of destiny that spanned across all eras!
Hearing this, David Jones’s brows knitted slightly.
With his current strength, he was not yet able to touch upon the existence of such a dimension as the river of destiny, but he had some knowledge of the grandeur of the river of destiny, which couldn’t be simply expressed in words. It was normal for Daphne to feel fear towards it.
Just as David Jones considered how to comfort Daphne, a leaf made of jade from the Seven Rites Bodhi Tree fell and slowly melded into Daphne’s forehead, quickly calming its emotions.
Only then did David Jones have the mood to use his Illusion-Piercing Eye to check Daphne’s information.
“Pet Name”: Destiny Dragon Golem
“Pet Type”: Destiny, Fire, Dragon
“Species Level”: Epic Overlord (???)
“Pet Skill”: Destiny Judgement (Exclusive), Destiny Rule…
Clearly, with Daphne igniting the bloodline’s fire and breaking through Class VI King, the crystal power inside its body had completely dissipated and was covered by a higher level of Destiny Power. Its Species Level had also upgraded to Overlord.
As for the new skill Destiny Rule, awakened after its advancement, it was quite an outrageous skill.
“Skill”: Destiny Rule
“Level”: Class VII Destiny-type Skill
“Profile”: The use of this skill will result in a state where one cannot move for a full minute, after which one will gain the effect of Destiny Rule.
Destiny Rule: For the next fifteen minutes, one can’t be hit by any skill. Skills two levels higher than Destiny Rule are exempt from this effect.
Seeing Daphne quietly drifting off to sleep in his arms, David Jones smiled.
There was no need to test the new skill right now and disrupt Daphne’s sweet dreams.
At the same time, seeing that Daphne’s mood had returned to normal, Lolo gently patted the Bodhi Tree.
“Chirp-chirp.” (You’re somewhat useful, I guess.)
…
The next morning, in the Mesona Space.
Within the primeval forest that Lolo had spurred into existence, Rainbow was confronting the Firewood Kylin, with the piercing frost and blazing flames violently colliding.
David Jones glanced at the distant medicinal fields with some concern.
If it weren’t for the fear of attracting the Trainer Guild’s attention with the appearance of the Firewood Kylin, he would not be willing to let two creatures with such destructive powers duel one-on-one in the Mesona Space.
“Chirp-chirp.”
Lolo patted his chest with his hand, indicating that not a single ripple of disturbance could spread out, assuring David Jones.
“Friendship first, competition second, I hope you all can compete to the best of your abilities and show your true style today.
Remember, in this match both sides are barred from using elixirs or any pet resources, otherwise, it’s an automatic loss…”
David Jones, who had temporarily taken on the role of referee, publicly stated the rules to prevent any beasts from reneging mid-game.
Daphne, Gluttonous Beast, Loona, and Lolo were sitting on small stools at the edge of the forest battlefield, clapping enthusiastically, looking forward to the spectacle, even to the point of making wagers.
In such a lively scene, Goldy wouldn’t miss out. It poked its fish head out of the soil and stealthily observed the Firewood Kylin from a distance, as if sensing danger.
“Gurgle!” (That’s scary!)
As a weak aquatic pet, the Red-tailed Goldfish race was inherently afraid of fire, especially since David Jones often performed his secret grilled fish delicacies in front of it.
Although Goldy itself often ate the grilled fish, which tasted fantastic, it was always afraid it might be next.
“Mew!” (Don’t be afraid. Fire generates earth; you are a dual-type Earth and Dragon Beast, why fear fire!)
Daphne licked its lips, attempting to dispel Goldy’s longstanding vigilance.
Instead, Goldy took off running even faster!
Possibly Daphne itself hadn’t realized, but it habitually licked its lips before eating grilled fish every time, and how could that not terrify Goldy!
