Chapter 100 Promise
Chapter 100 Promise
"The only way to damage it is by using a lot of mana at once on a single point," the gray-haired man said.
Aion couldn't change his class, and he had to use magic… that guy better be useful later. In any case, he created an ice hammer and made it spin insanely fast before firing at the shackles. It created a loud noise but made them crack like glass. He wanted to keep those shackles, but once they broke, they quickly fell apart. That was another thing, a very weird one that he hadn't seen before. In any case, he had to investigate it later.
"You have my thanks,'' the man said while trying to get up and then wobbling.
"The drug in your system won't let you do much for a while," Aion said.
Aion could help a bit with the Priest class, but he couldn't change it. To make things worse, his mother was too busy lately to teach him that kind of magic…
"It is fine. If it is just to escape, then I have enough strength," the gray-haired man said. "My name is Sauros Heradins… I assume that you aren't ready to give your name. So, we should leave this place immediately."
Aion went to grab the eggs and wondered if they could be stored in his inventory. He decided to put them nearby once he saw that the other prisoners had found legs and were waiting for him to jump back into the hole. He did exactly that and then helped the others climb, which took a while, but no one approached.
After that, Aion confirmed that he couldn't store the eggs in his inventory, so he would have to carry them. It was a bit troublesome, but it couldn't be helped.
"We should escape using the eastern side of the city, it seems that the guards are busy on the northern gate," Sauros said.
"There is no gate in that direction," Aion said while considering using Caelis to create a hole in the wall.
"I will open a path," Sauros said.
The guards in the area all moved to the northern path of the city, so they didn't find any obstacles along the way. The inhabitants were smart enough not to leave their houses in case of an Invasion since that would cause problems. That helped as well, but in the end, the group ended up finding thirty meters tall walls blocking their path. It was at least ten meters wide as well, so perhaps not even Caelis would break it as fast as necessary.
Still, Sauros stepped forward like he couldn't even see the wall as a problem. Eventually, he touched it, and Aion felt his aura changing… before long, a large path of the wall turned to dust, and then a clear path was open before them. That was a type of magic that Aion had never heard of before. Did it turn the walls into sand by deconstructing the particles? It made it return in time or made the time move forward to a point where the wall was just dust and sand? He couldn't tell…
"We need to move. The enemies will soon notice this… there is a place in the North where we can take shelter. The leaders of that place won't show prejudice at us," Sauros said.
Although they were scared of him, those words calmed down everyone. Aion didn't know if it was convenient or suspicious that he knew of his territory… Regardless, he didn't think that he would reach it before him.
"I will circle around the city and join up with my allies," Aion said. "We will run in the opposite direction, so use that chance to put some distance between you and any pursuers."
"Understood. I wish you good luck, young warrior," Sauros said.
Sauros didn't seem older than twenty, so his words seemed condescending. Still, considering that he might be a person that inherited the traits of someone who mutated, he probably was much older. In any case, Aion didn't have time to waste, so he began to run, and when he was away enough, he began to fly using his magic.
Once he was high enough to see the Scarlet Tigers, Aion gave them the order to move to the west. Their speed was moderate, but in the end, Aion didn't see anyone giving chase to the monsters… it looked like the guards had been warned about that.
"It can't be helped… I will use them to melt the walls a bit," Aion thought.
The scarlet tigers began to use flamethrowers on the walls, and while they didn't cause much damage at first, they eventually began to melt, and then the guards began to chase them and use bows and bolts.
"I guess this is enough…" Aion thought after two hours. "I don't know if my final target was alerted as well, but I need to move."
Aion made the monsters head west and then South. That will be enough to distract the enemies for a few hours… Although the next target was in a small town, Aion didn't drop his guard. The second target was probably the hardest, but the last one would have more time to prepare.
Aion wondered if he should fly to the next target as soon as possible and try to do something in the middle of the day and before they are warned or if he should try to rest a bit… since he didn't use his body that much, he was fine. Even his mind was also fine since he didn't use his mana all at once.
In the end, Aion decided to hurry up. After taking a few breaks, he reached his destination… it was a port town, but he didn't expect to see slaves being sold in the open and in the middle of the day, as if they were like the other objects being sold… he also arrived when some ships approached, and some pirates began to attack.
