Chapter 191 The Power Of Time
Chapter 191 The Power Of Time
After a while, Sauros saw a plainland ahead and confirmed that he could use that. The only problem was that he would have to use a lot of his mental strength, and he would need some time to prepare.
"You two, buy me some time, but don't go all out," Sauros said. "I found the perfect place for us to fight."
Aion and Seris nodded. It was about time for them to deal with the generals. Seris knew what her brother was about to do. So, she was determined to protect him. The only issue was how they could stop that mad bull that was the axe general. The guy was a beast without its ability, so stopping him will be a real pain in the ass…
After a short while, Aion had an idea of how to deal with the ax general and turn his strength into a weakness. He transformed his shield and sword into a spear and then stopped moving when he reached the central area of the plain lands.
The enemies did the same. There were no obstacles around. So, it was a weird place to stop since it wasn't suited for ambushes. Still, they could feel Aion's bloodlust. He wasn't going to run anymore, and he was dead set on finishing things there. They had no real reason to fight to the death, but since they wanted the relic, then one of those groups would have to go down.
The generals noticed that Sauros was far behind the group, and he was concentrating on doing something. Those guys showed some weird techniques, so perhaps they shouldn't take their time finishing them off. Still, as usual, the generals waited for the ax guy to charge first. He headed into a straight line toward Seris, and while she created two swords using her weird magic and then enhanced her movement speed, Aion attacked first.
His spear approached at the enemy's left eye at supersonic speeds, but the ax general saw that and stopped moving. Aion could tell that he had used his power to reflect the attack. However, Aion stopped when he was only a few centimeters away.
"It is amazing. You can stop moving like that just by activating your skill…" Aion said. "After seeing it a few times, it seems that a weird aura that covers your entire body works to protect you. However, you can't do anything while you are at it."
When he attacked, and his skill worked, Aion got a bit confused, but he wasn't moving at the time. He had jumped, so the momentum made him move. When the general thought of moving, Aion's spear approached his eye a bit more, and that made the enemy flinch. For some reason, now he was faster and could attack before the enemy, even if he wasn't the one who moved first.
"Well done… considering your voice, it seems that you are pretty young," the ax general said. "Continuing to fight now without exchanging our names would be a pity. My name is Brun. What is your name, young Warrior."
"...My name is Maximus Dozens Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, and loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father of a murdered son. Husband of a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next." Aion said.
"It seems you are here for revenge, but that doesn't make any sense considering that you ran away until now…" Brun said
Aion was a poor actor, so the enemy didn't buy his bullshit. Still, his nonsense bought Sauros enough time. All of a sudden, a wave of energy crossed the field and everyone around it. When that happened, the wind stopped moving, and the sound of the night had disappeared. Even the generals couldn't hide their astonishment when they noticed that the clouds had stopped moving. Sauros created a space not bound by time. Or maybe time flew inside it so fast that the time outside looked like it had stopped… only he could explain that.
Brun took a few steps backward and then joined the other generals. Even he wasn't crazy enough to ignore what was happening.
To think that someone close by would have such a fantastic technique… Aion was speechless. He wanted that. Considering his magic power, it would be useful in more ways than he could count. Still, killing an ally to obtain that kind of power wasn't something Aion was willing to do, and he also didn't know if he would obtain that kind of power.
"Seris, step back," Sauros said after he took a deep sigh. "You can't fight like that."
"I can!" Seris said while ignoring that her shirt was about to fall off.
"If things continue like this… you will lose your shirt, Aion will lose his focus while looking at you semi-naked, and the enemies will use that chance to strike him down," Sauros said.
"Like I care!" Seris said.
"Dude, I am totally focused here," Aion said. "You sure have some nerve to joke around in a situation like this."
"When you answered his question, you sure looked amused as well," Sauros said.
Aion couldn't deny it. Bullshiting his enemies were just too much fun, even in dangerous situations like that one. In any case, since they closed the space, Aion didn't have to hide anything anymore. He took his armor out of his inventory and then handed it to Seris.
"Use it, and that should cover your boobs," Aion said.
"Despite your words, your actions prove that you might lose your focus if you look at her," Sauros said.
"As a single and healthy man, not looking would be disgraceful to my honor and hers," Aion said.
"My honor has nothing to do with that, pervert," Seris said.
In any case, they forgot about that when they saw the enemies moving. Things were starting to get interesting and complicated at the same time...
