Chapter 196 Underwater Dungeon
Chapter 196 Underwater Dungeon
Although the enemies could have used flying enemies to find them, Aion's group returned to the ship two days later without facing a single problem. The people of that kingdom probably were shocked since three of their generals disappeared alongside their ruler… everyone that they went to fight the invaders, but to think that they would disappear without leaving a trace…
"Let me check your wounds," Sauros said when they arrived on the ship. "I am a bit of a healer myself."
"I am also a bit of a gamer myself," Aion said.
"What are you talking about?" Sauros asked while frowning.
It was a pity that no one could understand Aion's poor attempts at making low-IQ jokes, but there was some fun in it as well, so it didn't bother him.
"I am a Milerian, remember?" Aion asked. "My mother taught me how to heal myself properly, and I did that over the last two days… I just need some time to rest."
"... You protected me two times, I owe you more than a little bit, and I intend to pay the debt, but you shouldn't do that anymore if you are only putting yourself in danger," Seris said.
"Sure, I am going to sleep. If you don't see me, it is because I am hibernating," Aion said after he turned around and waved his right hand.
When Aion entered his cabin, he dropped onto his bed… while he kept a strong front during the whole trip back, the truth was that he needed to rest for a while. He lost too much blood covering for Seris, and the poison damaged his body way too fast. At least he got four extra death knights, and he also got the relic of the temple, so the mission was accomplished.
In the end, Aion had to rest for three days… aside from waking up to sleep and going to the bathroom, he only slept. Even he wasn't stubborn enough to disagree that sleeping was the best way to heal. After those three days, Sauros and Seris went to his cabin because they were worried about him. Seris also had to give back his armor, so they had an excuse for doing that.
Still, they only found him sleeping peacefully while scratching his butt. They decided to erase that memory from their heads. In any case, Aion showed up on the next day while feeling a bit sluggish… he felt like all his joints were as stiff as iron… but after doing some stretches, he recovered.
"That was one hell of a job, right?" Aion asked. "I liked that kind of tension but fighting while running away and dealing with an assassin is boring."
"You are something else… although I do agree that I find assassins annoying," Sauros said while furrowing his eyebrows.
Kala almost killed Seris and singlehandedly caused them problems to no end. Her strength was the real deal… against ordinary opponents. When it comes to armies, strength and numbers rule, so her skills were more than enough to rule on the battlefield.
"...Can you show us your wounds?" Seris asked.
"Still worried about that?" Aion asked. "How many times do I have to say that? My mom is quite fond of my face, so she taught me how to get rid of scars. She made me practice healing magic that would deal with that until I reached her level."
Aion took out his shirt and then confirmed that he didn't have any wounds or scars left. To reach that level of ability to erase wounds, one had to be more than a bit talented… while those two looked seriously at him, Aion flexed his muscles. He still could be considered muscular and yet slim, so he failed at making his chest bump.
"I am Sorry if this sounds ungrateful, but don't do that again," Seris said. "Can you imagine how you would feel if a kid ten years younger than you died covering for you?"
"I guess it would be pretty embarrassing," Aion replied while rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "I guess I would feel depressed and then blame myself, but perhaps in a different order. Putting that aside, what is our next destination?"
Seris facepalmed since Aion didn't listen to her. Sauros could only force a smile… Aion could only take things at his own pace and ignore everything else.
"Well, we will have to travel North for a while," Sauros replied. "The enemies this time won't be humans, and the conditions of the next destination are a bit complicated, so we will have to get some materials here and there."
"I am not the captain here, but you should speak in more direct terms," Aion said.
"I thought that you would enjoy the thrill of the surprise more than a direct explanation," Sauros said and then shrugged. "Our next destination is a dungeon, but as I said, we need some preparations to clear it and find the temple."
"Why is a temple close to a dungeon?" Aion asked. "That being said, I am quite looking forward to it."
"Dungeons appear randomly, and we assumed that the same appeared inside the entrance of the place where the temple was hidden," Sauros replied. "It is an underwater dungeon, and the temple was supposed to be in an underwater cave."
Aion frowned when he heard that… things sure got complicated. He wasn't confident that he could fight well underwater and for long periods of time. He will have to think of something…
"Underwater dungeons are quite hard to clear, so we will have to deal with an army of monsters. In this ocean, there are only three of them, but as you can see, we find their spawned monsters pretty often," Sauros said. "There are other issues that we will have to deal with as well… like pirates. Hunting those maritime monsters is a pretty good business. Thus, the pirates have more reasons to target those that operate in the area."
