Chapter 368 Dark Dome
Chapter 368 Dark Dome
?While Aion was considering several things to help with mobility across the world at insane speeds, he managed to level up the Slayer class to assassin and Tamer to Beast Tamer… now Aion just to level up the Ninja class and see if anything would change. Unfortunately, few of the souls were sending mana to that class. It seemed that no one had experience in acting like ninjas.
Still, Aion was training while using Seris' power combined with that class, so it was only a matter of time. While Aion was working on that in the sky, Artemisia, Seris, and Arlana were working on the experiment. Artemisia had a lot more land to manage, but it was easy for her since everyone feared Aion, and no one wanted to make a mistake and feel his wrath.
During the experiments of that day, Seris and Arlana high-fived each other when they managed to make a carriage fly, and they also managed to make it land and change directions with clear precision. The trick behind had been discovered by them already. They had to put several runes above each other and make them affect the whole structure with perfection.
"This is all very well and good, but when are you going to make up your mind?" Artemisia asked.
"About what?" Seris asked.
"About Aion," Artemisia said.
"Urgh, that is…" Seris looked away.
"Am I missing something here?" Arlana asked. "Or is this sounding like Seris likes Aion."
"Well, it is not like I hate him or anything, but… he is younger. It would be better if…" Seris said.
"It would be better if he conveniently proposed to you, right?" Artemisia asked while showing a sweet smile, but that only made Seris feel shivers. "Get real! Your lack of determination is so annoying! What about you, Arlana?"
"Me? What do I have to do with this?" Arlana tilted her head.
"Aren't you going to marry Aion?" Artemisia asked. "You two need to say it clearly because that child lives for work, particularly, and I want grandkids! Damn it!"
Seris and Arlana finally saw a side of Artemisia that she had been hiding for a while and never showed Aion. Seris imagined that Artemisia would be like that. It was hard to believe that the last princess of the Milleris kingdom would be that meek and supportive.
"That idea never crossed my mind… in the first place, I was ready to die when I met him in person since I didn't have any confidence in being useful to change the past," Arlana replied. "Besides, me living here is already like slapping the timeline in the face. Marrying and having kids when I was supposed to live in the future might make even the world fall apart."
"Don't be a drama queen. You have the opportunity now. What do you want to do?" Artemisia asked.
"Ma'am, you should calm down a bit. This kind of thing shouldn't be rushed…" Seris said.
"At this rate, you will be forty before you make any move," Artemisia said and Seris groaned again. "Helping him behind the scenes is fine, but you can't wait that things will solve themselves in the future… you know that he will only get busy in the future, don't you? Besides, are you planning to be scolded by your parents again? You left your duties because you made up your mind, right?"
Seris didn't know what to say, she couldn't deny anything, and that only annoyed Artemisia even more. Still, saying even more, would be rude of her, so she decided to stay quiet and wait and see what would happen.
As for Arlana, she was deep in thought. The idea of having a romance had never crossed her mind since she had been alone, literally, alone for more than ten years… Artemisia sighed. At that rate, her son would become like her brother, someone who lived for work and would never have a girlfriend.
While they were having that conversation, the atmosphere suddenly changed again… Aion stopped his training and then clicked his tongue. It was only natural that the enemies wouldn't let him have any peace of mind. Still, they were abusing the situation to get on his nerves. Still, the atmosphere only changed for a short while and then returned to normal.
Aion quickly used the relics to point where the next appeared, and much to his surprise… he saw the light pointing toward the capital of the Zaera kingdom. He really didn't like that.
"Fenhair, Celion…" Aion said.
"I will stay on guard," Celion declared.
"I am already nearby," Fenhair said. "I will guard your base, but I have a feeling that you will need our help this time."
"I will be the spearhead as usual. In the meantime, you two will stand by and wait for further orders," Aion shook his head. "If something happens, I can leave as fast as possible, and it will be risky to stay in the same place all at once."
Aion wondered what he should do for a moment… inform his mother, Seris, and Arlana what happened, or just move on? He would rather not give time for the enemies to move or do too much, so he flew as fast as possible to the capital while still using the power of Seris' rune.
Thanks to that, Aion arrived at the capital in less than ten minutes. Still, even before he arrived, he noticed that something was off… a massive pillar of shadows was in the distance, and soon Aion confirmed that it was covering the whole capital… His father was there, and his siblings traveled there often, so Aion clicked his tongue and approached even further.
"The hell is this…" Aion frowned since he couldn't feel anything coming from the pillar of shadows.
Aion thought that it was made of mana, but he couldn't feel that… that was somehow that appeared as soon as he felt the mana… that couldn't be a good sign.
