Chapter LIII – Day 796 – Unending Rage
I looked at my melted throne. My hands clenched and unclenched at my hands. Dead. They were all dead. Some soldiers were kneeling behind me, but I did not know them. I did not care for them. My Envoy was dead. My Master Fleshcrafter was dead. My Inquisitor was dead. My son was taken. My Dragon Empire was falling apart.
Leaving the throne room, no one dared speak to me as I made my way into the inner sanctum of my palace. The door to my apartments was swiftly opened by a servant. I did not pay them any mind. My son’s toys were in disarray as I checked his room. I went to my room.
It stank and there was a large sword on the bed. I looked at the message written in English on the blade itself. No one had touched it in the slightest.
For the old hag who lives here. I stole all your points and other things under orders from the Astrologer. Consider it payback for being such an ugly old hag. Pro tip, get skin cream and kindness. It will make you look younger. Also Naran sends his regards.
That man. Champion Michael, he had survived. The smell of piss was unmistakable. I picked up the large blade, I had probably killed someone with a large blade like this before, but I could not remember them and I did not care to.
“AHHH!” I let out a roar of pure rage and ripped the blade in two with my hands. I threw a piece in each direction, smashing into the palace walls.
“Now! Get her!” Four men raced out at me dressed in my soldier’s uniforms. They thought they could put me down, the Divine Empress. Fury burned within me.
“Die dogs!” I my hands shot out deflecting their blades and exploding their heads. I cared not who sent them. They were weak. Once weakness was sensed all the dogs would bark.
“Divine Empress!” Soldiers rushed in, but they were failures. They were all failures! And the only reward for failure was death.
“Die!” I gave them the kindness of a single word before their heads exploded as well. Their necks gushing out copious amounts of blood as their bodies toppled over. To steal my son. To ruin my capital. To kill my people. They were mine! Only I could kill and torture them. No one else had that right. I was the Divine Empress blessed by the Heavens themselves. All others were beneath me.
It appeared I had been too lenient. Letting the dogs run amuck without a proper beating. Well, that time was over. I was stronger and more powerful than ever. Nothing would stand in my way. Not even my own soldiers or empire. They were weaknesses to be cast off.
They only had one job. To protect my son and they failed. I went to my wardrobe and put on an enchanted outfit. One that could endure. While I could fight naked without issue, I had my pride. To go naked was a sign of weakness and I was anything but weak.
I strode out of my palace, killing all before me. Servants, soldiers, it mattered not. They had failed. “Divine Empress, the Lords have sent emissaries asking what to do?” A man ran up to me and kowtowed.
“Do? The only thing everyone can do is to die.” I kicked out and the man’s body was instantly turned to paste and smeared all over the ground. An excellent use of force injection and dispersal. Weakness and failure. I had been far too lenient to these dogs. No, not dogs, they were less than dogs. They were worms.
I strode forward through my palace and exited. My mind was focused on a single task, to get my son back. There would be one person who knew where he was. The most vile and evil person that I knew. While she couldn’t be killed and I had force the worst tortures upon her, she never gave up.
The High Priestess, or the Avatar of the System, depending on the title she wore that day. I looked at the ruined city and there was no airship to convey me. But it mattered not. I was done with everyone and everything. This place had served its purpose, but now it was completely and utterly useless.
Soldiers were kowtowing on the ground as I stood in the plaza. I sneered. Why were they still alive when they had failed so miserably? Why did they think they deserved life? “All of you kill yourselves,” I commanded.
There was hesitation and confusion, and some even dared to look up upon me. “Do I need to repeat myself? Kill yourselves to save me the hassle of punishing you all for your failures.”
One soldier got up and rushed at me. “Fire Shot!” A weak skill for a weak worm. I focused and dispersed the attack mentally not even needing to use a skill. The skill was weak and the man in front of me was weak.
He drew his sword and kept rushing at me. The blade slammed into my neck, but I was ready and counteracted the blow with my Body stat and energy. The blade bent, but did not leave a single scratch. “You dare raise your hand against your Empress?” I reached out and grabbed his face before he could react. “Kill yourselves, or I will,” I ordered. The man began to scream as I pushed my energy into his body.
It was not simple or easy, but it was incredibly painful. His body began to warm and change, but he lived. I made sure to target his limbs first. Then his body, and finally his face. His screams of pain finally cut off and I threw him to the side since his very soul was no more.
Several soldiers had already slit their wrists or necks, more had begun to run. A few rushed at me in the hopes of killing me or dying while fighting. It mattered not. I moved and head after head exploded from one single poke. Their stats nowhere close enough to keep my energy out and from exploding them.
They were a cancer. Weak, and clinging. It was time to purge the old and the useless. Like winter before a spring. I killed one after another, sparing no one. Not even the servants or the few people who worked in the Forbidden City. I killed them all.
Foolish thinking any of them would escape punishment for their sins. To let the attackers, escape. To let my son, get kidnapped! No one would be spared my wrath for any of this. They would all suffer and die.
A day passed, but it mattered not. The city was cleansed. Many had run, but I would kill them all. But that could wait. My vengeance was only temporarily stated, it was time to find the one responsible. I knew it wasn’t the Astrologer or this Champion Michael.
They were men and men were idiots. No, it was the Avatar who had been scheming. Even if it cost me the Heaven’s favor, I would be killing her after she found my child. There would be no escape or plotting from her anymore. After that I would hunt down this Champion Michael and the Astrologer. No matter where they might run to, I would follow them and kill them no matter what. All three of them were going to die.
For they weren’t worms, but dogs. Trying to bite me and barking. Everyone else was a worm and didn’t matter in the end. They would die as well, but their power was lacking and their plotting incapable of threatening me. No, only those three had risen up in my eyes.
The Astrologer for his combat ability and knowledge of energy. The Avatar for her schemes and understanding of this world. Champion Michael for his boldness and audacity. To think he would use a monster to impersonate me. I had not killed him before instantly to draw out the Homunculus, but I would not be making that mistake a second time.
