Chapter 40
Chapter 40: Luna is expensive
Luckily we didn’t have to walk very long to get to Lunas clothing shop. Following the group into the shop, I sigh at the smell of a powerful aroma.
“Luna, where are you!” Amari shouted.
“Amari dear, is that you? I am coming!?” Someone shouted in the store, followed by things flying.
Getting Deja Vu, I moved away from Amari just in time to dodge her falling with a blond woman that jumped on her. Looking at the person who jumped into Amari, I thought I had met her before.
“Lucy?” I said subconsciously. She looked just like Lucy that did my clothes when I lived at the border.
“Hmm, who are you?” Hearing me say someone’s name, she looked up at me, frowning and ask.
“Me? I am her sister, and you must be Luna, Lucy’s twin, I presume.” I said, pointing at Amari, who was still in a daze by the hit.
“Is that so?” She said, standing up and inspecting me. “I can finally meet Amaris’ sister, huh. Also, please don’t say that name in front of me. ”
.....
“Yes, I am here to get some clothes,” I said, not asking any questions. ‘It seems she doesn’t like Lucy.’
“You seem like a smart one,” Luna said, taking my hand. She was about to pull my sleeve up before I stopped her.
“I would like if you don’t do that just yet,” I said, pulling her hands away.
“Hmm, you can tell me all about it when I am busy giving you a makeover.” She looked confused but shrugged. Retaking my hand, she started pulling me.
“That’s fine. No dresses, though,” I said, not resisting her pull.
“Don’t worry, I could already tell you don’t like dresses,” Luna said, pulling me harder to the back of the store.
“This feels like Deja Vu,” I muttered, following her.
“Come sit down.” Coming out my thoughts. I saw Luna gesturing to me to sit down on a chair in front of a mirror. Before I sat down, I took my scarf and coat off, showing my bandaged chest and curses.
“Ooh. Those are so cool!?” Contrary to my expectations, Luna took my arms again, moving them around while inspecting them. “You need to show these more. It will draw in more girls for yourself, especially with your lean body.”
“Hmm, your quite perceptive,” I said, not showing my surprise.
“If you say so.” She said, winking.
‘Mom still beets her, but for a clerk, she is way too good.’ I thought while sitting down.
“Yeah, I will never beet Stacy.” She blurted out. When she realized what she said put her hands on her mouth and looked at me with a bit of fear in the mirror.
“So, you can read minds, good to know,” I said, getting more comfortable.
“You aren’t mad?” Luna said.
“Try it again,” I said, smiling at her throw the mirror. She frowns, but a second later, she went pale.
“Why would you do that?” She shouted, holding her head.
“Haha, I actually thought you would have thrown up from that.” I laughed. When I told her to reread my mind, I thought about a couple of torture methods I used in my past life on people. I did edit it, so I looked like a girl when I did it.
“Why would a girl your age know how to torture people and in the most gruesome ways possible.” She said, coming her self down.
“Haha, you don’t need to know why but it is was a great stress reliever.” I sigh, smiling back at the time when I did that.
‘I wonder when Mom will allow me to torture those traitors.’ I thought to myself. I must have shown an evil smile because Luna hit me over the head to get me out of my thought.
“Stop that. I won’t be able to concentrate with that sort of smile on your face.” She said, annoyed.
“Hehe, sorry. I have a question?”
“Ask away.” She said, starting to cut my hair.
“Why didn’t you react to my eyes?” I ask, looking at her in the mirror.
“Your eyes?” She said, confused.
“Yeah, my eyes are quite special, but when our eyes met, you didn’t react at all.”
“Ooh, they might look scary, but I have seen worse. And if I am right about what you mean by special. They most likely only work on trained people or people that have bad intentions towards you. I have heard and seen that sort of eyes before. The best way to withstand them mostly is having strength or have a lot of pride in something.” She said.
“Is that so. Thank you.” I said, thanking her. Thinking about my fox form and needing to change clothes every time. I ask her. “Is there a way to get clothes that can change shape with the body?”
“There is, but it is expensive. Why? Do you need it?” She asks, confused.
“Yes, please. Money isn’t a problem. Can you make all my clothes like that?”
“How many sets do you want?”
“30 sets should be enough for everyday clothes. Training clothes I would like to have about 50 sets of. Oh, and 5 sets of formal clothes will also be needed.” I said without hesitation.
“PFFF, why so many?” Luna said, widening her eyes.
“Reasons. Can you do it?”
“I can but not today. I will give you some sets I have of shapeshifting clothes that are in your size and deliver the rest on a later date.” She said, finishing up with my hair. “All done. How do you like it?”
“Thank you.” I thanked her, and I looked at my hair. It was still below the shoulders but was cut, so it was thinner and wasn’t as thick as before. My bangs were also cut shorter. “Why is there more white now?”
“No matter what I did, every time I cut your hair. Your ends will change to white.” Luna said, shrugging.
“Ooh, I see,” I said, standing up.
“I will go get the clothes you go to that changing room, and I will bring it to you,” Luna said, pointing to a door.
“Okay, can you get baggy clothes though I like that more?” I said.
“I was going to get you men’s clothes, so it should be baggy,” Luna said, walking off. Shrugging, I walked to the changing room.
(20 minutes later)
Walking out of the changing room, I saw Amari and Rachel sitting there waiting for me.
“Yo, have you guys waited long for me,”?I ask, walking to them.
“Luna did a great job. You look so manly.” Amari said teasingly. Rachel, on the other hand, switched between an expression of joy or disappointment.
“Why do you look disappointed? Don’t I look good?” I said, looking at Rachel.
“No, you look good, but...” She trailed off with a blush.
‘Haha, she most likely is disappointed that she can’t check my body out anymore. But happy that other people can’t see it.’ I laughed at my thought and looked into the mirror.
Like my usual style, I had a hoodie with the sleeves down and a tank top underneath. I had black ankle boots on with black cargo pants. I was also wearing a sports bra instead of the normal one under the tank top. Sadly my breast isn’t as big as I thought. But they were still a B-cup and bigger than Moms, so I didn’t care about it too much. My hair was in a ponytail, and finishing up with my trusty scarf on my neck. I didn’t roll up the sleeves of my hoodie because I was in public with Amari. I didn’t want to have some dumb rumors startup about her before I was introduced to the public.
“Aah, finally you’re done.” I heard Zagan shout with joy.
“Yeah, I just need to pay and finish up my order, then we are done,” I said, walking to the front desk.
“Cool.”
Standing in front of the desk, I looked at Luna like she has gone crazy.
“How much did you say is my order?” I asked, confused.
“That would be 50 platinum coins,” Luna said, smiling.
One platinum coin is worth 100 gold coins. One gold coin is worth 100 silver. One silver coin is worth 100 copper coins. That was the currency of this world. In other words, my order is worth 5 000 gold coins. Sighing in defeat, I took the coins out of my storage and gave them to Luna.
“Ugh, I am so poor now,” I said, depressed. Two years of saving gone just like that.
“To think you had 50 platinum coins on you,” Zagan said, picking up his jaw from the floor.
“Where did you get all that money,” Amari ask.
“The person who wants me to fight for the kingdom,” I said, not looking away from the desk.
“Huh? It can’t be Mom or the Black ops,” Amari muttered to no one in particular.
“If it isn’t one of those, then it must be the King,” Zagan said. Looking at me, worried, he said. “Is he buying you, like a mercenary?”
“Hmpf, don’t worry about that. It has nothing to do with you.” I said, shrugging him off.
“But...” Amari was about to talk, but seeing me looking at her, she dropped the topic.
‘I don’t care who they might be, but some things just our house are allowed to know.’ I thought to myself, putting everything away.
