The Tale Of Kitsuna

Chapter 72

Chapter 72

Chapter 72: The Duel Rules

“Mom, I don’t think you know what Yandere actually means,” I said with a raised eyebrow.

“You just shut up.” Mom said, pointing at me. Walking to Chinada, she smiled and spoke. “Well, you understand what’s happening now, don’t you?”

“Yes, so you guys were planning this from the start.”

“Exactly,” I said, snapping my fingers.

“Then my worries were for naught. Sorry for doubting you, my Queen.” Chinada said, bowing her head towards me.

“Don’t worry about it, and about this Queen thing, can you stop. Just call me Kitsuna.” I said

“I cannot call my Queen on her name,” Chinada said, shaking her head vigorously.

“Call me Nova then. I don’t want you to call me Queen,” I said, a bit annoyed.

.....

“If you order it, then I will do so.”

“Fine, I order you to call me by my name,” I said, sighing.

“As you wish, Nova,” Chinada said, nodding politely.

“Sigh, I will never get used to this. Oh, Mom, did he figure it out?” I said, revering to the Duke while turning to Mom. Seeing her holding in her laugh. I felt annoyed and kick her on the side.

“If he did, it doesn’t matter. Hugo already signed the blood contract.” Mom said, snickering while dodging the kick easily.

“Great, give it to me so I can sign,” I said, holding my hand out to her.

“Here. If you’re done with that, go find Kayda. She will be the main witness to the dual.” Mom said, giving me the contract.

Pricking my finger with my canine. I signed the contract before giving it back.

“Why do I need to go look for Kayda?”

“Because you are the one who pissed her off,” Mom said, giving the contract to Dean.

“No, that was you.”

“Kitsuna.” Mom said in a low voice.

“See you guys at the arena,” I said, bolting away.

“Thought so.” Mom said.

(Stacy POV)

“Now that she is gone. You Chinada right.” I said, looking at the silver-eyed Demon Fox.

“Yes, Lady Draig,” Chinada said, looking at me calmly.

“Why did you call her Queen exactly,” I said, pulling her closer.

“It is because she is a... Wait, I don’t think I can’t tell you.” She said, making a confused face.

“If it is because of her bloodline, we already know,” I whispered to her.

“Oh, yes, it’s because she is a Primordial 9 tail Demon Fox that I call her that.” She said, nodding.

“So, you guys can feel it?” I said, tilting my head.

“Yes, when we are in close proximity, any demon fox will know that our Queen is close,” She explains.

“That’s a bit problematic. Is it only your race, or can other demi-humans feel it as well?”

“No, it’s only us. It’s not a wildly known fact, but our race is quite family orientated.”

“What do you mean, ‘family orientated’?”

“No matter how far our bloodline goes. We will always be connected spiritually. Especially if it comes to Nova, her being our Primordial makes her deeply connected with us.” She said, looking into my eyes.

“Sigh, At least only other demon foxes will know. That’s something I never knew, thank you.” I said, seeing no falsehood in her words.

“That explains a lot, doesn’t it,” Dean said, giving me the contract again.

“Yeah, I will go and make the King sign as well,” I said, walking towards the drinking area.

(Kitsuna POV)

‘Where the hell did she run off to.’ I thought, walking around the castle looking for Kayda.

“Hey, sexy, where are you walking off to.” I heard a man say around the corner.

“Hey, let go.” A feminine voice said in anger.

“Oh, come on, don’t be like that,” He said with a slurpy tone.

“Man, nobles getting drunk?” I said, smelling the alcohol in the air.

“I have never slept with a Dragonoid before. Why don’t we use one of these guest rooms for some fun?” The man said before I heard a slap.

Turning the corner, I saw a 16-year-old Dragonoid girl standing there with one hand raised and the other behind her back, glaring at a young noble.

“Why do I always find myself in this situation,” I mumbled to myself, walking closer to them.

“You bitch I am the first son of Viscount Jaman. How dare you slap me.” He shouts back, slapping the Dragonoid through the face.

“Oh shit,” I said, seeing small golden scales on the Dragonoid wing.

“The first son of a Viscount!? Are you serious!? How dumb!?” The Dragonoid shouted, pulling her hand at her back out, holding something very familiar.

“Nope,” I said, flash stepping between the two. Grabbing the guy at the throat and the Dragonoid by her hand that was holding a gun. Narrowing my eyes at the Dragonoid, I said. “Princess, that isn’t very smart to do.”

“Ugh, let go.” The guy said while scratching at my hand.

“If you say so,” I said before throwing him against the wall knocking him out instantly.

“Who are you?” The Princess said, relaxing her grip on the gun a bit.

“Name is Kitsuna Draig. Nice to meet you, Princess. What is your name?” I said, letting go of her hand.

“Wait, you’re the one fighting Hugo.” The princess said with a baffled expression.

“Yeah, that’s me. Anyway, have you seen Kayda the Sage?” I ask while wrapping the guy up with Ice chains.

“No, she should be at the arena already, shouldn’t she.” She said, looking at the ice chains curiously.

“Tch, dammit. What were you doing here alone, princess?” I asked, tilting my head at her.

“Went to the bathroom. I was on my way to the arena to watch the duel, but this guy stopped me.” She said, giving the guy a disgusted look.

“Oh, well, lead the way then,” I said, making way for her while holding the end of the ice chain in my hand.

“What are you going to do with him?” She said, walking down the hallway.

“Going to change him into paperwork for your brother, hehe,” I said, grinning and chuckling evilly while dragging the guy behind us.

“Not a bad idea.” The Princess said, nodding.

“You still didn’t tell me your name.”

“Shino Doragon. Why do you want to know that?”

“Aah, because I am not going to call you princess every time, Shino,” I said with a deadpan look.

“But I am a Princess. You should show respect, shouldn’t you.” She said, looking at me baffled.

“Nope, not happening,” I said, shaking my head.

“What but-”

“Oh, we are here,” I said, hearing multiple voices on the other side of the door in front of us. Pulling the guy closer, I grabbed Shino around the waist before using Flash Stepping to appear in front of the king.

“Oh god, it already started.” The King said, rubbing his temples seeing me appear in front of him, holding his younger sister and a guy in ice chains.

“Shino dear, are you alright.” The Queen asks worriedly, taking her out of my arms.

“You should teach your nobles to know how to recognize if someone is royalty,” I said, dropping the chain in my hand and flash stepping to the middle of the arena.

The arena looked the same as the one I was in with the spar against Dean. However, this one was on a bigger scale, and the audience this time was only nobles.

“Finally, you have arrived. I thought you backed out for a second.” Hugo said, wearing full body armor.

As Chinada said, it looked heavy. He was wearing full armor plating on his chest and stomach. His legs and arms were also full of armor but still leaving places to move easily. As for his head, he had a weird helmet that should of his main with 2 horns on his forehead.

“To fight a dumb Furry. I would never let that sort of opportunity slip away.” I said, not trying to laugh at his dumb armor. Calming myself, I looked at Kayda, who was standing at the side of the arena glaring at me.

“What took you so long?” Kayda said, annoyed.

“I was looking for you!” I said, pointing at her.

.....

“Oh, my bad.” She said, rubbing her head awkwardly.

“What the rules for our duel, Hugo?” I said, looking back at Hugo.

Taking out a small piece of paper, he faked a cough a couple of times before reading it.

“Kitsuna Draig is only allowed to use magic and Hugo’s main weapon. Which is a war hammer,” He said, looking at me with arrogance.

‘Well, that’s no surprise. Not a bad choice to make me use only magic. Hugo’s father would have found out that I lived and was trained by Stacy for 3 years in weaponry. But they are as dumb as it comes going on something like that. And for the weapon, I don’t mind. It makes it more fun.’ I thought, hiding my grin.

“Okay, and for you?” I said, tilting my head.

“Nothing I can use what I want.”

“Hmm, is that so. So, you can only win a match against someone if you only give an advantage for yourself.” I said, smirking at him provocatively.

“Even if you could use all your skills. I highly doubt you could win against me.” He said, waving me off.

“And why do you think that?” I said, wanting to know where he got the confidence.

“Because I heard you still don’t have a class.” He said, grinning in confidence.

“Oh, is that so. Well, that is true. I don’t have a class yet, but Stacy, the weapon queen, trained me. So, it doesn’t matter.” I said, laughing.

“Like that matter, you are only allowed to use magic and war hammers.” He said, laughing.

‘Plural.’ I thought, ginning for a second.

“You have so much confidence, but you are still scared to make a rule for yourself?” I said, shaking my head.

“Scared? For you, as I would ever be scared for you!?” He shouted in anger.

“Oh, really, then why don’t you let me make one rule for you regarding your skills then?” I said, tilting my head at him again, trying to provoke him further.

“Fine if you think it would make you win.”

“Good, you are not allowed to use race skills,” I said with a small grin.

“Don’t!?” Duke Boei shouted in desperation.

“Deal!” Hugo said, not hearing his father’s plea.

“Aah, great. Kayda, you can start now.” I said, changing my clothes to my cargo pant and boots with only a sports bra on my chest.
