The Tycoon's Odyssey

Chapter 57: 57:An Old Enemy

Chapter 57: 57:An Old Enemy

Before doing anything, Evan wanted to investigate Darpan. And after doing it, he realized that this guy was really a beast…

"The guy had such a wonderful wife yet he had been cheating on her back."

Darpan's first wife was in no way ordinary; she was the daughter of the CEO of Spyder...a reputed IT software firm.

It seemed like she was either unaware of his infidelity or she knew all this and had accepted it. Also, there was a third plausible case where she was also a cheater.

After knowing the world, Evan wasn't surprised by all this. The upper echelons of the society were filled with crazy people.

The saying, "With power comes responsibility." was just a cliche that would look good in novels. In reality, the quote was more like, "With power comes the free will to do anything you want and fuck anyone you want…"

And Evan wanted that power very badly.

After he had analyzed all this, Evan spent more hours digging into other things.

Finally, he found a file with mismatched data on the budget. It was something that was related to tax evasion.

Knowing that he needed to investigate it more, Evan decided to download more information and broaden the scope. He then targeted the accounting and human resources departments.

Leaving the network to finish downloading, Evan took a look at the clock and then shook his head before falling into a deep thought.

The issue with Jay that he had buried deep inside his heart, resurfaced his mind.

Although he had beaten Jay, the backlash was severe. His parents made his life hell and when he ran away, they ensured that he was caught by the police and brought back to them.

"Now that I think about it, there's something wrong with my parents. Every time I ran away, they would make sure to use every means possible to pull me back. As long as they knew where I was there wasn't a problem."

"Fuck! Just when I needed answers, those bastards went missing…"

Before the incident, Evan had planted malware and trojans on his parents' phones to track them, but when they disappeared, their phones were left behind. Evan also monitored their accounts but to his shock, there weren't any transfers.

And it was unlikely for them to have a hidden account because the current account held a whopping sum of 24 million rupees and God knew where all this had come from. He needed to hack into the bank server to understand this, and he was ready to take the step.

It seemed that they had either disappeared or been killed for some reason.

Evan had a bad forbidding feeling about this, but he decided to look into this later since right now he had something else he needed to focus on.

He hesitated a bit and wondered if he should proceed.

"System, what should I do?"

Feeling restless, he blurted it out casually, but to his surprise, he got a response.

[Host, though I am not a living being and just an embodiment of the world's laws that follow a definite path of logic, I can just give you one suggestion.]

[As long as you believe what you are doing is right, and the risks are worth it, just follow your heart.]

Evan's eyes widened and he shook his head wondering, just what he had heard.

Did this system give a suggestion that sounded more humane than 99.99% of humans on this planet?

He didn't know whether he should be happy that at such a time, his system comforted him or cry thinking that this was the only guy who knew his heart cause he was all alone…

Whatever the case may be?

Since both his heart and head said do it, he would do it.

"Then, let's go!"

......

In a Funlife Disco Bar...

The ground of the bar pulsed with vibrant lights and thumping beats as people drank and danced in a kaleidoscope of movement.

Girls swayed their hips accompanied by the hands of men, who offered support with one hand while drinking with the other.

Meanwhile, the song boomed, filling the space and accompanying the dancing crowd.

[Underneath the neon lights]

[We're dancing through the night]

[With every move, we ignite]

[In this electric paradise.]

[Having fun, such is the beauty of life.]

At the center, a group of high-class individuals in expensive, richly decorated dresses drew the attention of the others in the club.

Amidst the crowd, Jay, a renowned second-generation wealthy socialite known for his drunken behavior and playboy antics, danced wildly while being flanked by two stunning beauties who matched his energy.

Stopping for a moment, he pulled out a bundle of notes and shouted, "Enjoy girls...Life is all for enjoyment."

"Since Master Jay says this, I won't be holding back."

"No holding back!"

As he danced, Jay engaged himself in a lively conversation with his companions, exchanging laughs and playful banter between sips of champagne while ogling at the stunning girls around him.

His wild behavior drew jealousy from people at the corner, but all they could do was glare at Jay, who seemed to relish the attention.

'Jealousy, I like this very much. Once Evan is destroyed, I will make my super appearance, scaring the shit out of that brat.'

As Jay danced and swayed his body, a beautiful girl threw herself on Jay and whispered into his ears, "Young Master, whom do you want today?"

Jay's cloudy eyes lit up and as soon as he heard the seductive voice and looked at her charming face, he felt a fire ignite beneath his pants.

He could feel something within it was rising and struggling to break free.

He glanced at his watch. "Hmmn! Midnight...It is already late. Let's not go home today."

Then he scanned around and pointed to another girl.

"I want you and that girl to accompany me tonight."

The girl giggled and whispered, "Come young master let me help you."

_____

Jay and his girl glide out of the disco bar and make their way to his car.

It was a Lamborghini Urus and as they drew closer, the headlights cast a luminous glow against the darkened street.

The two girls supporting Jay made sure to cheer Jay and inflate his ego.

Drunk, Jay stumbled and slid into the driver's seat, followed by a girl sitting beside him.

The engine roared to life as Jay revved the powerful machine.

The car roared like a wild beast as he drove away, but to his confusion, just after coming out of the parking lot and having driven it for a few metres, the car stopped.

This caused Jay's brows to contort….

The engine seemed fine, so what was the problem?

"Girl, wait a moment," he said, hiding his frustration.

Opening the door, Jay stepped out to analyze things, only to find out that his tyres had been punctured.

"What the fuck! How did this happen?"

He screamed angrily and kicked the car, but just then...

Without warning, a bottle hurled through the darkness, crashing against Jay's forehead with a sickening thud.

Pain shot through Jay's skull as he staggered from the impact while blood trickled down his face.

The girl behind him gasped in shock, their voices rising in alarm.

They were too shocked to react and too afraid to open the door to step outside for help.

Just then, they saw a figure emerging across the street. In a swift motion, the figure pulled out another glass bottle and struck Jay's forehead once again.

BAAM!
