The Typhoon's Dangerous Wife

Chapter 124 - Difference Between Want And Need

Chapter 124 - Difference Between Want And Need

On the other side, two people were sitting in a cafe and enjoying the coffee. The cafe was situated opposite the tall building of Long Groups.

"Thank you for accepting my invitation on such short notice," Long Jie said with a sincere smile.

"You're welcome. Luck you, my schedule happened to be free this afternoon," Chen Yuling said with a light chuckle.

While Long Jie ordered two espresso Chen Yuling stole the moment to stare at his beautiful face.

"Anything you would like to order?" Long Jie's voice brought her out of trance.

"Umm?" Chen Yuling was at the loss of words. She was embarrassed no one affected her like the way he did.

"I said you would like to order anything else?" Long Jie repeated. He gave her an earth-shattering smile full of brighter teeth that had her heart beating against her chest like a ticking bomb waiting for exploding.

To be honest, he was smiling like his normal self but it was Chen Yuling who was reading too much into it.

"How are you, Long Jie?" Chen Yuling asked him while they waited for the coffee.

"I'm good " He replied.

His eyes fell on the other side of the cafe where a man was on his knees with a ring in his hand and asking the woman before him to marry him. The woman was shedding tears and he couldn't understand why would anyone want to cry on such a joyous occasion. The girl finally said Yes and the guy pulled her for a earth-shattering and knee-weakening kiss.

"Long Jie! Long Jie! "

Chen Yuling's hand blocked his sight as she was waving her hand to get his attention.

"Sorry, what were you saying? " Long Jie asked, perplexed.

Zhenyi. His attention was still stuck on her. He realized he was jealous of the man who proposed to the woman though he was already married. He couldn't even hug his wife much less kiss her.

Only he knew how he had spent every day and night missing her though she was in front of him.

"Coffee," said Chen Yuling and pointed towards the barista.

His wedding bang clicked against the porcelain mug and Chen Yuling's eyes followed the source of the sound.

Her nose flared. Eyes turned red. Stomach churned.

He was married. To another woman. A woman who was not her.

Everything changed like it shouldn't.

He invited her every month for a coffee at this same place and even at the same table. He always reserved it and she always responded like it was no big deal. But it was, at least to her. He always asked the same questions and she always gave him the same answer. He always tried to leave after getting the answer he was hoping and she always tried to prolong the meeting.

But now he was married to another woman. A woman who could have been her if that woman had not snatched him.

"Did you decide?" He asked.

Chen Yuling closed her eyes for a moment, took a deep breath, and then look at him with a dazzling smile.

"No, I've not.". And like every time he had asked the same question, she had given him the same reply she always had and would.

See nothing changed. Except for the ring on his finger.

He adjusted his coat jacket and stood up to leave when he heard Chen Yuling's voice.

" I think you can finish the coffee. I don't bite."

Her words sound more like teasing to him but only she knew how much she meant them.

He looked at her again and sighed before sitting again.

"Congratulations on your wedding," Chen Yuling said bitterly.

"Thank you," he shortly replied.

"How is she like?" Chen Yuling heard herself asking the question.

"Who?" Long Jie glanced at her. "Zhenyi?"

She nodded.

He shook his head and chuckled lightly.

"Zhenyi is... unique. A mystery I can never solve. She has the spirit of the tigress. She doesn't tolerate bullshit. And sometimes too loyal and stubborn for her own good."

Closing his eyes, he could see his dimpled smile, the mischievous glint in those burning eyes and he could still smell her perfume on his body though he didn't remember when he last touched her.

Liar. He did remember. The last time was when his tipsy little wife had demanded foreplay before the actual activity.

Chen Yuling clenched her fists tightly, her nails were boring into her skin as she heard him talking about his wife. Although his face was still void of any expression, she could see a smile and twinkles in his eyes.

"She is a very lucky woman," Chen Yuling said, still burning in the pyre of jealousy.

"No." Long Jie shook his head. " I'm a very lucky man that I got her. Not many men get what they actually need. We all know what we want but we do not know what we need."

Long Jie surprised himself by actually uttering these words to Chen Yuling, but he was not wrong and he knew it. He knew he and Zhenyi shared a bond beyond these wedding rings.

He also knew he had to protect that bond but he needed time. Time for himself. Time to heal. Time before committing. Because once he decided to confront her again and tell her what he truly wanted and what he was willing to do for her, he knew that then there was no going back and surprisingly he didn't want to go back.

When he first saw Cat eyes in the restaurant, he knew he wanted her. Again when he got to know that his Cat eyes was the Zhenyi, he was aware of his want to possess her. But when she said she was afraid of getting hurt and trusting him again, he realized how much he really needed her.

Such a big difference in need and want. And it was Zhenyi who made him understand this.
