The Typhoon's Dangerous Wife

Chapter 194 - A Rose For Devotion And Commitment

Chapter 194 - A Rose For Devotion And Commitment

"So, why are we here?" Zhenyi asked as she took a sip of wine. Surprisingly, she liked its taste. However, the question that remained unanswered was how this sometimes very difficult man was letting her drink tonight?

She didn't care for the answer as long as he allows her to drink to her heart's content.

"Love, stop with acting. I know that you are perfectly aware of the reason why we are here," said Long Jie and knocked her head with his finger.

"Ouch!"

He was truly enjoying how hard she was trying to pretend oblivious.

"Do you like it, wife?" questioned Long Jie, half-teasing and half-seriously.

She looked around again to take in the beauty of the place. It was literally beautiful that she was at a loss for words. He did put a lot of thought into making their evening special.

And she was touched beyond words.

Zhenui nodded. Magic tumbled on those red cherry lips as she smiled a beautiful smile. His sun was as bright as a full moon under his starry sky.

Long Ji was unable to move his eyes from her face. He was bewitched. End of story.

But fortunately, it was just the beginning of their story.

"Jie, thank you," whispered Zhenyi as she stood up to kiss his cheek and then occupied her seat again. He deserved a reward, didn't he?

"Anything for you!"

"Well, I'm thanking you for the wine," Zhenyi teased him as she held up her glass.

"Still, I'm glad you liked it."

"How come you're giving in before me these days?" She asked him. "It's boring, you know. Not fighting with you."

Long Jie laughed. "Then, come fight or argue with me every day. Your skills must be rusted as you haven't used them for a long time."

"Are you technically saying that I know nothing instead of arguing with you?" She gaped at him.

Long Jie shrugged. "Well, I said you're quite skilled in rendering me speechless with your impeachable talent of argument...but...whatever you say, Wife. Wives are always correct, Bà taught me."

"What are you two now? Best Friends?" Zhenyi asked him, referring to him and Xin Yichen.

"Nah, best father-in-law and son-in-law pair."

"Narcissist!"

---

"Stop, Zhenyi, you can't drink more," Long Jie scolded his wife who was tenacious on drinking the whole bottle by herself.

"You are the one who brought me out for dinner, even though I didn't want to, but I still came, didn't I?" She questioned him with blinking eyes. " Now let me drink to my heart's content. I haven't had a drop of alcohol in these two months."

"You know, it would be wiser not to take any risk with your health."

"Didn't you say I'm not sick anymore? So, why are you not letting me drink? Could it be because even you know I am still --"

"Stop it, Zhenyi. I know you're trying to piss me off but trust me, baby, it won't work. I'm not letting you go back to that depressing room for now." Long Jie announced, closing every way for her refusal.

"Don't you think we should date each other?" Long Jie added, changing the course of conversation.

"We are already married and married couples don't date." Zhenyi scoffed. What married couple dates each other?

"Says who?" questioned Long Jie as he took her cold hands in his to warm them.

Zhenyi found herself unable to reply to his question and stared into his eyes.

She opened her mouth to say something but closed it again as no word came out of it.

" You are my wife and it's natural that I will be trying to give our relationship a chance to survive all the ups and downs that we will be facing. But Zhenyi, our marriage is not conventional. We got married in a rush and I know you still blame me for it, but trust me, it was the only option I could think of then." Long Jie paused, he found Zhenyi's attention on his words. "However, if I was given another choice to remain engaged to you for a year or more before marrying you, I still would have chosen to marry you as early as I can."

"So, Zhenyi now that we are married and I am more than happy this way, would you allow me to date you?"

Zhenyi gazed at him in astonishment as he dropped on his knees and brought out a red silk rose. She didn't know what she should do right now or how she should react to this situation, but she did take that rose from his hand.

"I will take it as a yes," Long Jie chuckled and stood up.

Zhenyi gave him a grin as she smelled the silk rose. Surprisingly, it smelled good.

Long Jie took the rose from her hands and adjusted it in her hair. It was looking more beautiful this way.

"This rose signifies my endless devotion and affection to you, Mrs. Long." Long Jie circled his arms around her shoulder and placed his chin on her head." Wife, some days words won't be enough to express what we feel about each other and I hope those days, I find something to express my words to you like I found this flower today. I know people choose real flowers, but I chose a silk one. It's because I don't want my promise to wither or die with time or any other circumstances. So, Zhenyi, I am giving myself to you, completely. No more secrets. No holding back."

"Jie." Zhenyi turned and embraced him tightly. She wouldn't let him even if one day he decided that didn't want her. She would cling on to him forever.

"I am never letting you leave me no matter what the consequences," she uttered.

"Too bad, I was not planning on it," he said and kissed her hair.
