Yun Muqing sat in the leather swivel chair, the symbol of authority of the company, and looked out of the window. From her position, she could see half of Jiangling stretching into the horizon. The entire city was beneath her feet.
She felt as though she was standing on the shoulder of a giant. Any mediocre worker, when presented with such a panoramic view, would become open-minded and ambitious.
"I still can't believe that I'm sitting in this chair," Yun Muqing turned her head and said to Chu Feng standing beside her.
To her, the entire sequence of events felt surreal and unbelievable like a dream.
An hour ago, she was alone and helpless, and her position in the company was in jeopardy.
Now, she had replaced her uncle Yun Jiaqiang as the president of Yun Group!
Her emotions were like a roller-coaster, and she still had not found her bearings.
"I'm not dreaming, right? Can you pinch me?" she said while gazing at Chu Feng.
"Are you sure?" Chu Feng said with a smile. He rolled up his sleeves and rubbed his palms excitedly, as though looking for a tender and bouncy spot on her body to pinch.
Suddenly, Yun Muqing grabbed Chu Feng's arm and bit hard.
"Hiss!" Chu Feng gasped. Two rows of teeth marks remained on his forearm.
Women! I shouldn't have believed her!
Yun Muqing lifted her chin smugly and smiled. "You look like you're in agony. I guess I'm not dreaming then."
Chu Feng rolled his eyes. "You ungrateful woman! Have you forgotten who helped you?"
Yun Muqing pouted and turned her head away. "It's not confirmed yet. Grandfather will make the final decision if I get to replace Uncle as the president."
Chu Feng smiled and said nothing. If Yun Changqing was not stupid, the billions of dollars worth of contracts should give him a good idea of who to choose.
It was inevitable that Yun Muqing would be the company president unless they wanted Yun Group to fold and the Yun family to fall from grace.
Chu Feng stretched his limbs and gazed at the woman he loved. "To be frank, Yun Group is a sinking ship. Those shareholders are a bunch of leeches. They won't change no matter how much you try. The best decision you can make is to leave them and live the life you desire."
Yun Muqing lowered her head and said nothing.
Chu Feng smiled wryly. He knew that she could not let go of her familial relations just like that, even though the other members of the Yun family had treated her unkindly.
"If you choose to stay, I will do whatever I can to support you," Chu Feng said while gazing at Yun Muqing gently. His tone was soft yet carried undeniable authority. "With me beside you, no one will bully you or your daughter."
He was not going to let Yun Muqing suffer any longer.
Yun Muqing could feel a twinge in her nose, and her eyes gradually moistened.
Even so, she lifted her chin and said, "That's not romantic at all. You should've said 'Quit your job and let me pamper you for the rest of your life.'"
Chu Feng pretended to be surprised. "I can't afford to pamper you! You're such a big eater, you're almost like a pig now!"
