Chu Feng knew there was no point in reasoning with bullies like that woman. Only violence would make her listen.

"How… How dare you threaten me! Do you know who I am? Do you know who my husband is?" the plump woman yelled furiously. "Just wait! You'll see what will happen to you!"

Chu Feng picked up Duo Duo in his arms and left the scene, ignoring the woman's threats.

"My son, my darling son! Don't worry. Mommy will avenge you!" The woman cried pathetically while hugging the dead body of the dog.

Chu Feng and Yun Muqing brought Duo Duo back to the mansion. They comforted and consoled her until she calmed down.

Duo Duo blinked innocently and apologized to Chu Feng. She promised she would be braver and not be afraid of big dogs anymore.

That only made Chu Feng feel guiltier. He had to make up to Duo Duo for the lack of a father figure in the past five years of her life.

He swore an oath to himself that he would protect his daughter with all his might.

He was watching a cartoon with Duo Duo when Zhou Lie and his family returned with bulging shopping bags filled with daily essentials and groceries.

However, the three of them looked displeased, as though they were arguing with somebody.

"Feng, what happened between you and Uncle Yong earlier?" Zhou Ying asked as she went over to Chu Feng. She seemed very unhappy. "Aunt Hui called us just now and scolded us. She said that we're foolish and ungrateful. She also said you're a compulsive liar who almost ruined their plan. Even Zhou Li was scolding me sarcastically!"

Chu Feng thought for a while and guessed that Zhou Yong and his family still did not believe in his true identity. He smiled and said, "It's only a small misunderstanding."

He briefly described the events that transpired in the restaurant earlier.

"Wow, the audacity! They've gone too far this time!" Zhou Ying pouted angrily when she heard the story. "You've done so much for them without asking anything in return, but Aunt Hui thinks that you're lying!"

"That's right, Feng." Liu Minglan was also indignant at her son's treatment. "My son is such an extraordinary individual. Why can't he be the Mr. Chu of Feng Yun Group? If only they didn't judge a book by its cover!"

Zhou Lie took a puff from his pipe and said, "The truth will eventually prevail. We're going to the family gathering anyway. By then, they will know what Feng is capable of."
