Chapter 127 - 127 Impossible
Chapter 127 - 127 Impossible
127 Impossible
Li Yanchen was speechless. ‘He really couldn’t remember what happened? Was he sleepwalking?’
“Be quiet. I’m going to sleep for a while longer,” Lin Wan said. After saying that, she pulled the blanket and wrapped it over her head.
Li Zekai made a shushing gesture and happily went downstairs.
At eight in the morning, Li Zekai knocked on his brother’s door. Li Zexin and Li Zexuan were sleeping in.
He didn’t hear a response, so he simply walked in.
“Big brother, dad carried me to his room to sleep last night.” Li Zekai gloated.
Li Zexuan was speechless.
“I just came down from his room. You can ask Grandma Huang if you don’t believe me.” Li Zekai knew that Li Zexuan didn’t believe him, so he tried his best to convince him.
“Why did he carry you to sleep in his room?”
“I don’t know either. Maybe daddy came back from the business trip and missed me? I slept in his room. I wanna tell brother Xinxin.” Li Zekai went to Li Zexin’s room to tell him.
Li Zexin played a game until late at night. He had just fallen asleep, but his younger brother woke him up. “Get out or I’ll beat you up,” grumbled Li Zexin.
“Brother, do you know what time dad came back last night? He carried me to his room. I just came down.” The little boy repeated.
Li Zexin vaguely heard his brother’s words. He was too sleepy. He groaned.
“There was also Auntie Lin. Dad slept in the middle,” continued Li Zekai.
Li Zexin sat up suddenly.
“I’m going to brush my teeth. I’m very hungry.” Li Zekai ran away from Li Zexin.
The little boy walked to Auntie Huang. “Grandma Huang, have you prepared corn today? Auntie Lin likes it. I’ll call her down to eat it after she sleeps for another half an hour.”
“Yes, there are a few left.” Auntie Huang looked at Li Zekai with kind eyes. “Jiejie, did you have a very bad nightmare last night? Grandma held you for a long time, but you didn’t stop crying. When you ran upstairs, sir hugged you and didn’t let go of you. He was so gentle with you.”
“I know my father loves me the most. Grandma, you can’t tell my brothers that. They’ll be jealous.” Li Zekai tilted his head. “I’m sleeping with daddy tonight.”
“He agreed?” Auntie Huang asked.
“I think he will. Dad loves me so much.”
After Li Zexuan and Li Zexin were woken up by their younger brother, they couldn’t go back to sleep. They walked out of their rooms. Lin Wan, who wanted to sleep longer, couldn’t fall asleep, either. She went downstairs with Li Yanchen.
“Daddy!” Li Zekai happily ran to his father. “You hugged and comforted me yesterday?”
Auntie Huang was speechless. He had just made her promise not to tell his brothers about that. Now he was shouting louder than everyone else!
Li Zexuan and Li Zexin’s faces were filled with envy. They also wanted to be carried by their father to sleep. However, when they looked at themselves and how tall they were, it was impossible.
“Good morning! Everyone’s up and ready for breakfast, I see,” Auntie Huang greeted everyone warmly.
Everyone took their seats at the dining table, with Li Yanchen and Lin Wan at the head of the table. Beside them was their youngest son, while opposite them were their eldest and second sons.
Li ZeKai was in high spirits today, unlike last night. On the other hand, Li Zexuan and Li Zexin were a bit unhappy.
After drinking a bowl of pumpkin congee, Li Zexin finally couldn’t hold it in anymore. “Father, why did you only carry Jiejie up to your room? Now he will be all clingy and will never learn to be independent.” The truth was, he felt very jealous. He had never gotten the chance to spend quality time with his father, let alone sleep in his room.
Li Zexuan also put down his spoon. “Yes. It will hurt Jiejie’s development.”
Li Yanchen was perplexed.
“Big brother,” said Li Zekai. “You are just jealous that dad loves me more.”
Li Yanchen finally understood. “Jiejie woke up in the middle of the night because of a nightmare. Auntie Huang tried to calm him down, but he couldn’t stop crying. He ran to me so I let him sleep with him.” For him, all his children were the same. Henot want them to feel that he loved any of them less than the others.
Li Zexuan and Li Zexin felt relief. “Today’s corn suddenly tastes so sweet.”
“Daddy!” Li Zekai fumed.
Li Yanchen ruffled his youngest son’s hair. “You lied to your brothers.”
“Daddy, I don’t like you anymore.” The little boy turned his face away.
Lin Wan looked at her jealous stepsons and felt a little emotional. Even though Li Yanchen had not been there for them much, he was still the most important person in their hearts. Yesterday, she had urged him to tell the children the truth but now she felt hesitant.
After breakfast, Li Yanchen returned to the company while his sons went to the VR Experience Hall together. Lin Wan and Auntie Huang were preparing the materials for the afternoon’s livestream while Xia Mo came over early to discuss with Lin Wan about the Sweet Little Circle channel and what they should do with it after the second episode of the variety show.
“We’ll gather at Lan Village at noon the day after tomorrow. We’ll both participate. What about the livestream?” Although Lin Wan was the key person in the Sweet Little Circle channel, Xia Mo had been right by her side for so long. They hadn’t broadcasted for a few days, and they were worried the account might sink.
Lin Wan had thought of changing the livestream time to the evening, but she still had her “Night Talk” show that time.
“If I tell the Festival Group that I am Xiao Huan and need two hours every day to livestream separately, will they agree?” said Lin Wan.
Xia Mo leaned against the bookcase. “In the first episode, your family was the most controversial. But it has all changed. If Xiao Huan’s identity is revealed, the viewership will blow up. I think the Festival Group will be happy to do it.”
“But I think it is better to call and confirm first. Call them now.” That was the only way Xia Mo could think of.
Lin Wan organized her thoughts and dialed the number of the person in charge of “We Are Also Very Ordinary”. When the call connected, she put it on speaker.
No one had expected Lin Wan to call one day to ask if she could take two hours out of the live broadcast to do her own business. The person-in-charge admitted that he wanted to laugh when he heard the word “business” from her.
Lin Wan had always given people the impression that she was a salted fish. It was a disbelief that she was building her own career. But when she revealed that she was Xiao Huan, the most popular dessert page streamer who had been trending these days, the person-in-charge was shocked.
“So, you are Xiao Huan? You are the one who always streamed with Xia Mo in Sweet Little Circle?”
“Xia Mo here. I can be a witness. If you don’t believe me, you can turn on the video now and wait for us to do a live broadcast. You can see if it’s Lin Wan or not,” Xia Mo pitched in.
“Ms. Xia, that won’t be necessary. I believe you. I just… this is so surprising. We have been watching the Sweet Little Circle livestreams for a few days. We thought that even if Xiao Huan didn’t want to reveal her identity, we could rope you in and increase the ratings for our live broadcast. I never expected Xiao Huan to be Ms. Lin. We are so happy for you, Lin Wan. The variety show has been in second place for the entire time. We needed a new gimmick to make it to number one. I guess this is the right time to do it.”
