149 When Are You Going to Start Calling Me Hubby?
“Yanchen, can we talk?” Ji Hanzhi gathered her courage.
Li Yanchen’s hand, which was originally holding Lin Wan’s hand, slowly moved to her waist. The two of them became even more intimate. “Sure.”
Ji Hanzhi looked at Lin Wan, as though asking for some privacy.
“Lin Wan is my wife. I don’t have anything to hide from her.”
“Oh… I just wanted to thank you. It was all thanks to you that I was able to take my children to the hospital. If they had missed their treatment… it would have been bad,” said Ji Hanzhi.
Li Yanchen’s brow furrowed. “No need to thank me,” he interrupted. “I would have helped anyone in that state.” He thought that his explanation was clear enough.
“If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be where I am today.” Ji Hanzhi’s lips stiffened.
“Ms. Ji, you have nothing to thank me for. All you have achieved is because of your own hard work. miss Ji, you might have misunderstood. Whatever you do is the result of your hard work,” said Li Yanchen. “If there is nothing else, we will be heading back now. The sun is harsh and Wanwan doesn’t like the sun.”
Li Yanchen shielded Lin Wan’s face with his hands. They walked away. “Do you want to use honey with the apricot tea?” asked Li Yanchen to Lin Wan.
“Sure. I saw some in the fridge.” Lin Wan leaned against his arm.
Lin Wan wondered why there weren’t any such men in her own world. Lin Wan was getting more and more reluctant to go back. Her best friend had been in a few relationships in the past, and the men she had dated had been scumbags. Those men in television dramas were all lies. However, Li Yanchen was completely different.
As she thought about it, Lin Wan tightened her grip on him.
Feeling the sudden surge of strength from her, Li Yanchen thought that Lin Wan was jealous of Ji Hanzhi, and thus hugged her. “Honey, I am not going to run. Are you trying to strangle me?”
Lin Wan quickly let go. Li Yanchen pulled her close. “Just be gentle.”
“When are you going to start calling me hubby?” said Li Yanchen. Lin Wan never called him hubby.
“Ah?”
They were getting intimate in the way they addressed each other but Lin Wan still couldn’t call him “hubby”.
Lin Wan blushed. “I am going to the mountain to pick some tea. I didn’t bring tea bags this time. I am going to make fresh tea.”
Li Yanchen laughed.
Ji Hanzhi looked at the back of the two people hugging each other from afar and her heart sank.
She stood by the roadside for a while and muttered to herself, “Li Yanchen and Lin Wan have only been married for two months. They’ll get tired of each other very soon. I’m the one who can help Li Yanchen.”
Ji Hanzhi calmed down and walked to Feifei’s house.
At Feifei’s house, the children held up their clay snails and faced the camera.
“Brother, sister, do you think what I made looks like a snail?” Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan stood at the front.
“This is a rainbow snail.” Compared to yesterday’s green caterpillar, Li Zekai was much more satisfied with today’s snail.
“Mine too. I’m a purple snail. Auntie Nannan likes purple the most. I want to give it to her.” Wheatley also showed off her work.
Except for Feifei’s, what the others made did not look like snails at all.
[Feifei’s handiwork is amazing.]
[Well, it’s better looking than yesterday’s caterpillar. At least, it looks a little bit like a snail.]
[Hahahaha, are you sure you’re praising Jiejie?]
[Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan’s look more like colorful lollipops.]
“Feifei, can I take this back and give it to my mother?” Tuan Tuan asked as she held up the small snail.
“Of course, you can. You can take them back.”
[Baby Feifei, did you bring enough clay?]
[Festival Group should give them some funding. Our Feifei has probably contributed a year’s worth of clay.]
[Hahaha, isn’t that so?]
Ji Hanzhi, who was standing outside the courtyard, squeezed out a smile.
“Hello, Teacher Zheng, Lawyer Tao.” She greeted Feifei’s parents.
“Hanzhi, come and sit.” Tao Jingyuan greeted him warmly.
Upon seeing their mother, Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan jumped down from their stools.
“Mama, you’re here. This is for you!” The two of them extended their chubby hands.
Ji Hanzhi leaned down to take the clay from her daughters’ hands. Although she couldn’t tell what it was at a glance, she still praised them warmly. “Did you two make this by yourself? This is so pretty!”
“Mama, this is just a small snail. Don’t pinch them. Feifei said they will be squashed flat if they aren’t dried,” Tuan Tuan explained.
Ji Hanzhi heaved a sigh of relief. Luckily, she hadn’t said the “lollipop” was beautiful.
Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan hadn’t reached home yet, but the announcement blared.
They scratched their heads in embarrassment.
“Mama, is it time for lunch? But we just got here!”
Ji Hanzhi patted her daughter’s head. “You two were so focused that you forgot about it. Go wash your hands.”
The others likewise set their clay on the table and approached the well to wash their hands when they heard the announcement.
The Festival Group had built two simple sheds under the trees. There was only a layer of cloth on the roof, which blocked the sunlight. Under the shed was a long table with ten seats on each side for the five families.
The first to arrive were Li Zexuan, Li Zexin and Xiao Yi. The three of them chose to sit on the far left, followed by Wheatley’s family, who chose to sit on the far right.
When Xia Mo and Xiao Tianlin passed by Lin Wan’s house, they called her. The four of them went to the sports field together and sat beside the three children.
The second to last place was Feifei’s family. Feifei ran straight towards Li Zekai. Tao Jingyuan and Zheng Kuo sat beside Li Yanchen, while the center seat was left to Ji Hanzhi’s family, who was the last to arrive.
She looked at the left and the right, then sat down.
...
[I thought the Xuanxuan family was going to take the middle seats. I didn’t expect it to be Ji Hanzhi’s family.]
[Ji Hanzhi just arrived today, so special treatment.]
[Hanzhi is the most famous mother here, she should be in the center.]
[Forget it. It’s all because Xuanxuan and the others chose a corner. Li Yanchen and Lin Wan wanted to sit with the children. Otherwise, Ji Hanzhi wouldn’t have had a chance.]
[It’s just a seat.]
“Hanzhi.” Nannan sat at Ji Hanzhi’s side.
Ji Hanzhi smiled. She stole glances at Li Yanchen from the corner of her eyes. He and Lin Wan were sitting opposite Xia Mo’s family, and the two families were having a great time chatting.
Nannan noticed Ji Hanzhi’s glances. She whispered, “In this show, Lin Wan and Xia Mo have the best relationship. We can be good friends too. I am a loyal fan of “My Mother is Superman”, and I like women being independent and strong.”
No matter what, Ji Hanzhi was still a third-tier celebrity. Hanging out with an internet celebrity was simply lowering her status. But if they didn’t team up now, how were they going to deal with Lin Wan?
“Alright,” she said.
