Chapter 118 – It had become the curse of all the tragic characters in the book! (1)

After he had walked all over the two dregs of the class, Meng Yuran was in a very good mood all the way home. That was, until he saw the man comfortably sitting on the couch, drinking his nth cup of coffee.

Lu Xun seemed to not have noticed his gaze that was so frigid that ice dregs could drop at any given time. Seeing the young man walking in coldly, he even lifted his paw and greeted him.

“You are home, Little Yuran?” asked Lu Xun with a smile. “Did you have fun over at your friend’s?”

What was with him acting like he was looking at his own son? Meng Yuran looked away in derision. He didn’t even feel like responding to him.

Lin Yiyi had just finished with her streaming and preparing dinner. She walked out and saw her not-so-happy-looking instant son. “You are home, Little Yuran? Did you have fun over at your friend’s?”

Meng Yuran:“……”

You two had agreed upon this beforehand, right?

He looked profoundly at his mother for a while before he rolled his eyes at the guy sitting on the couch. His hands in his pockets, he walked toward the staircase coldly.

Lin Yiyi had no idea why he was acting the way that he was. She looked down at the man who was happily drinking his coffee and asked in a soft voice, “What’s up with him?”

“Oh, probably just going through his rebellious period,” answered Lu Xun with a shrug.

Thinking back, Meng Yuran was looking at her like he was looking at a traitor…

It gave a feeling of profound disappointment. If she must say, it was the same look that he gave his sister all the time! Lin Yiyi was convinced immediately.

By the time Meng Yuran had put his stuff down, changed, and went back downstairs, the other three were already seated around the dinner table.

On the table, there was braised pork, crispy teriyaki chicken, and garlic crawfish in all of their glory. Then there was scallion roasted crucian carp and milky crucian carp soup with the fish that Lu Xun brought over.

These were all dishes that he liked.

He walked over slowly and Lin Yiyi had already scooped out a bowl of milky colored crucian carp soup that gave out a tempting aroma. “Uncle Lu caught these fish himself. They are fresher than the ones you buy at the market. Quick, try some.”

Meng Yuran looked up and took a look at Lu Xun sitting across from him. And lost all of his appetite just like that…

Lin Yiyi, much like Meng Shanshan, had already equated seeing Lu Xun with having fresh fish for dinner.

A chef always has a very high standard for their ingredients. When it came to fish, what could be fresher than fish caught by oneself and immediately went onto the dinner table? That made the biggest difference other than cooking skills.

Okay, for the sake of the fish, he’d begrudgingly allowed him to stay and have a free meal with them.

And that’s how, Lu Xun, after achieving his goal of the day and having his very satisfying meal at the Lin’s, finally went home happily.
