Chapter 12 – Comforting Herself (1)
Fu Sinian was a renowned figure in City S.
By renowned, it meant within a certain circle, everybody knew of him.
Fu Sinian started out with nothing. He built his entire empire from scratch in merely 10 years; that definitely said something about his ability.
On the other hand, Fu Sinian’s infamous personality preceded him. Most of the public were angry at him but dared not say so publicly. He was very vindictive and brutal in eliminating his competitions. At the beginning of his career when he was running around like a chicken with its head cut off, he had met many colorful characters – some tried to keep him down, some were two-faced, some backstabbed him, others laid obstacles down behind his back. Fu Sinian put up with all of them.
Until his empire was established. That was when he went after them one by one. None of them were spared.
He didn’t kill anyone, but most of them went bankrupt.
Ironically, none of them knew how they had become Fu Sinian’s target. They had completely forgotten how they had treated him when he first started out.
That was the reason of Fu Sinian’s bad reputation, which consequently resulted in nobody wanting to have direct confrontation with him.
When Yu Duo first transmigrated, she weighed her options. Between running away or staying as Fu Sinian’s kept woman, she happily chose the latter.
Reality had proven that she had made the right decision. Sure, she had to play the role of a spoiled airhead for three years, and tread on thin ice every day, but the quality of life wasn’t too bad. As long as she catered to the Boss’s every whim, things were fine. Now that Fu Sinian was finally gone, she could also inherit his billion dollar empire. That was about as good as anything could get.
With this billion-dollar inheritance, she could live out the rest of her life any way that she wanted. She could shop, travel; just thinking about it was enough to make her happy.
There were a few Weibo texts on her phone. Her Weibo hasn’t stopped since Fu Sinian had passed away, most of them comforting words.
Yu Duo gave it some serious thought. Even though Fu Sinian went missing in the explosion a month ago, they just had the funeral. It was the funeral that confirmed his death, that meant she would have just accepted the fact that he had died yesterday.
This was the second day after her husband’s death, she should play the role as such.
She unlocked her phone and opened up the Weibo app and entered: You said we will spend the rest of our lives together, but you are already gone.
Send!
Shortly, her friend group was flooded with messages like “our thoughts and prayers are with you.”
Fu Sinian, who had been calmly watching her posting messages to her friend group, calmly watched her smiling triumphantly.
How was it that he had never noticed this woman really needed to be taught a lesson?
Thinking about that, Fu Sinian must ask himself, why was it that he had never saw through her true self?
While Yu Duo was responding to her Weibo texts happily, she heard knocking on the door.
Startled, she slammed the laptop shut.
“Madam, it’s me. Aunty Lian!”
Aunty Lian was also in her friend group; she figured Aunty Lian probably saw her posting as well.
“C’mon in.”
Aunty Lian entered the room with a bowl of herbal soup in her hand. The soup was black in color and as soon as she walked inside with it, the entire room was filled with a bitter smell. The look of it would make anyone not want to drink it.
