Chapter 241 - Traveler
Chapter 241 Traveler
Chen Feng took a few steps and turned a corner along the stream. There were a few little angels playing on the grass in front of him. They seemed to be in their teens.
They all had a pair of pure white wings on their backs. Those wings carried them up and down in the middle of the empty ground as they played with each other. “Hey, hello, traveler!” When one of the little angels saw Chen Feng, she smiled warmly and welcomed him.
“Hey, you look different from us.”
“Traveler, where are you from?”
“Edward! That’s too much! How can you ask someone such a private question when you’ve just met?”
Another angel with a cute and pretty face who was obviously a young girl flew over and pointed at the angel who had spoken.
“Well, that’s true. Traveler, please accept my apology. I didn’t mean to upset you.”
“Thank you. You’re right, Lisa. I went too far.”
Chen Feng listened to their argument without speaking.
“Well, you must be thirsty after a busy journey, right? Can we invite you to our village?”
Lisa said sweetly to Chen Feng.
“Yes, I’d be happy to do that,” Chen Feng echoed after them.
Moving forward, they passed through this clearing. After that, they came to a small path.
“Traveler, you can come with us later if you’d like to!”
“Alright! Can you bring me to meet the village chief or captain here? I don’t know how you address that person here, but I want to meet the one with the most authority here!”
“Oh, I understand. You want to meet the priest! He’s over there chatting with everyone. He’s the one in formal attire.”
This time, Edward answered his question first.
“Oh, I understand. Then let’s head over,” Chen Feng said with a normal expression on his face.
Along the way, the group of little angels started shouting, “Grandfather Priest, Grandfather Priest, there’s someone here looking for you!”
“There’s a traveler here looking for you, Grandfather Priest!”
“Everyone, look at what we found! A traveler without wings! Oh, he’s so pitiful! His wings are gone! Are they broken?”
“Slow down, little fellows. I’ll always be here. Hahaha!”
Chen Feng noticed that the priest stood up and hugged the little angels as soon as he saw them flying over.
When Chen Feng walked in, the priest was already holding one of them in his left hand and another in his right. The other little angels were around his legs.
It seemed like he had a lot of grandchildren!
Chen Feng swept away the strange feeling in his heart and stood beside the priest.
“I wonder if this priest is related to the Lost Priest that I met in the mystic realm last time?” He still could not stop letting his mind wander.
“Father, did you know that I was coming?”
The reason why he asked this was because the priest was dressed very formally. It was something that he would wear only when preaching
Chen Feng guessed instinctively. Was he not here previously? Was it because he had somehow found out about his arrival and rushed over?!
Although he had yet to receive confirmation, Chen Feng was certain of the priest’s answer.
“Well, yes, it’s all because of the Lord’s reminder.”
“If you want to know more, let’s talk in the cathedral later?”
“I’m going to help the villagers remove the husks of wheat right now!”
“Come along, traveler!” The priest called out to Chen Feng.
“Okay.”
Since he had just arrived, and the person he had expected to meet was yet to arrive, Chen Feng naturally would not argue with the villagers. Meanwhile, given Chen Feng’s current stats, it was a piece of cake for him to carry out normal farming right now.
Chen Feng did not see any machinery along the way. He thought that they would still need to rely on manpower to perform wheat extraction. He did not expect this when he followed the priest to their final destination.
A large-sized fellow appeared before his eyes!
There was a device that looked like a cement cart. There was a flight of stairs with two turns. Many busy villagers were already on it.
The wheat, which was about to be cut off its stalks, was transported from the conveyor belt not far away along with the cut stalks. After the removal of the grains, it was sealed by a mechanical bag at the bottom of the cement truck.
How strange!
Chen Feng did not understand. Was it not already fully automated?
Did they still need manpower? No!
So, what were the villagers doing up there?
Were they bored?
Chen Feng thought speechlessly. The priest, who was beside him, immediately smiled and said, “Isn’t it strange? What are they doing on the ladder?”
Chen Feng did not speak. He believed that the priest would explain himself next.
“That’s because they want to see how the machine operates. Hmm, they probably want to satisfy their curiosity!”
“That’s because we no longer feel hunger or cold under the Lord’s attention. We live only to satisfy our own curiosity.”
“How is it? Isn’t it great?”
This was…
Were they doing this just to make him stay here?
However, they do not even know what he was here for, right? “Hey, it’s the priest!”
“Father, you’re here!”
“Oh, hello. Hello, everyone. Hahaha, how’s the situation today?” The priest asked the villagers in surprise. “Oh, thank the Lord. Everything is going well today!”
“Mmm, that’s good, that’s good. I can rest assured now.”
The priest led Chen Feng around the area before leaving. Chen Feng did not ask much as he continued observing the area.
After that, the priest greeted the other villagers while laughing as he led Chen Feng forward.
Finally, the priest brought Chen Feng to the center of the town.
This was Chen Feng’s guess because the buildings in his surroundings were the largest and densest among all the buildings that he had passed.
After another turn, Chen Feng was certain that this was the church.
A few high and melodious bells announced the arrival of noon. “Come, let’s talk inside.” Chen Feng followed the priest into the church.
“This place is similar to the place where the Lost Priest that we previously saw was located. It’s similar to this place.”
“Please wait for a moment. I’ll go prepare.”
After the priest entered the church, he said something to Chen Feng before heading to the living area behind the church.
