Chapter 329: Chapter 329: Intricate and complicated
(The first update of the new day)

After about two hours of conversation and noticing it was already half-past nine in the evening, Ling Ruonan finally stopped talking and asked Wuyue to take Luo Ziling back to school.

“Ling’er, come and stay with me for a day or two over the weekend, and we’ll have a good, long chat,” Ling Ruonan said with a forced smile while sending Luo Ziling off to the car. “Don’t worry about the recent events; Mom will handle it. Whatever happens, you must tell Mom right away. If it’s something you can handle, then I won’t get involved, but if it’s serious, I must know.”

“I’ll remember that, I’ll tell you everything,” Luo Ziling assured her, not at all bothered by her somewhat nagging instructions. He happily agreed, “This weekend, I’ll come over and chat with you into the night and stay over.”

“This Saturday is the Mid-Autumn Festival; you must come and spend it with Mom,” Ling Ruonan reminded Luo Ziling, which made her think of the instruction she had given to Wuyue earlier.

Back then, she had also asked Wuyue to buy some gifts for Luo Ziling for the Mid-Autumn Festival.

She had thought that it wasn’t yet time to see Luo Ziling.

Unexpectedly, before the Mid-Autumn Festival had even arrived, she had met her son several times already, and the joy of their reunion had been enjoyed much earlier.

But Ling Ruonan knew that meeting her son too soon also had serious consequences. She made a resolution to arrange for more people at the school to watch over Luo Ziling, so they could respond promptly should any accidents occur.

When Wuyue returned, she would make sure to instruct him properly to ensure everything was arranged.

After the car had driven some distance away, Luo Ziling turned to look back and saw Ling Ruonan still standing at the door, watching him leave, which warmed his heart again. “It really feels good to have Mom by my side,” he couldn’t help but reflect.

“Young Master, ever since you came back, Miss has been much happier. I’ve never seen her laugh and cry like this before,” Wuyue said quietly, noticing the excitement still on Luo Ziling’s face.

Luo Ziling replied, “I’ll come to keep her company often from now on.”

As Luo Ziling was leaving Ling Ruonan’s villa, several kilometers away in another courtyard, Yang Yunlin was sipping tea with Yang Yuanshan.

The Mid-Autumn Festival was just around the corner, and there was an almost full moon in the sky. The weather wasn’t too cool, and sitting in the courtyard enjoying tea and moon-gazing was usually a pleasant affair. But today, Yang Yunlin was far from feeling at ease.

After hearing what Yang Yunlin had to say about Yang Shubao, a distant relative of the Yang Family, dying in a traffic accident today—possibly as part of Ling Ruonan’s retaliatory scheme—Yang Yuanshan’s expression darkened slightly.

“It seems this woman is somewhat mad,” Yang Yuanshan eventually said with a calm demeanor, and he continued to sip his tea. He gently asked, “What are you planning to do?”

“Dad, I’m not seeking your help; I just want to inform you about the situation,” Yang Yunlin explained quickly, afraid that his father might misunderstand, and added, “Since this woman is so mad, I’m also prepared to get a little mad.”

Yang Yuanshan looked coldly at Yang Yunlin and asked, “How mad are you planning to get? Do the same foolish things as Yang Shubao?”

“Yang Shubao was indeed a bit foolish, going so far as to instigate thugs to assault someone at the school gate,” Yang Yunlin shook his head and replied respectfully to his father, “But his foolishness also helped me see the situation clearly. The kid with the surname Luo is quite skilled, and Li Haiyang outright expressed his support. With Li Haiyang’s protection and the kid’s own abilities, we can’t afford to take him lightly.”

“Li Haiyang had him accompany him to visit the museum and blatantly appear in the public eye, which is a clear and unmistakable declaration of alliance,” Yang Yuanshan said with an unfazed expression. “He’s signaling to everyone that he’s got this kid’s back, and anyone who messes with this kid is messing with him. From now on, anyone who wants to go after this kid will have to consider Li Haiyang’s influence.”

“Dad, you should think of a way to get that worthless Li Haiyang out of Dragon Rise,” Yang Yunlin suggested quietly.

“You think I haven’t thought of that?” Yang Yuanshan glared at Yang Yunlin with dissatisfaction. “There are plenty who want him gone, but Ling Qirui personally promoted him, and he’s also a founder of Dragon Rise. How easy do you think it is to get rid of him before he dies? Besides him, who else can command the elites of Dragon Rise? Li Haiyang’s doting on this kid — whose idea do you think that was?”

“It seems like that kid really might be able to cure Li Haiyang’s illness.” Yang Yunlin suddenly felt disheartened. “The Ling Family really plans to accept him. Those bastards, they’re too much.”

“Whether he can cure him is not important anymore, what’s important is not to bring up finding someone to replace Li Haiyang again. His condition has improved, and nobody is discussing that anymore. Li Haiyang’s actions, of course, were instructed by the Ling Family, so we must be careful in our approach,” Yang Yuanshan said, downing a gulp of tea, “Also, your precious daughter actually went to the museum on her own to accompany Li Haiyang and that kid. Have you thought about it? If the news about your daughter and him gets out, and if they do something irreparable, where will you, as a father, put your face?”

Yang Yuanshan’s words landed heavily on Yang Yunlin’s face like a slap. “I’m already considering having Qingyin transfer schools.”

Yang Qingyin’s behavior indeed infuriated him, and he felt that his daughter, whom he had always been proud of, had lost his face.

He could no longer tolerate Yang Qingyin being involved with Luo Ziling, but having someone watch her was not working; it only made things worse. He knew his daughter, tough on the inside but soft on the outside, would react strongly against any attempts to force her to do something, limiting her freedom.

At this rate, she really could become the next Ling Ruonan.

Therefore, he could only consider transferring schools, to completely separate the two.

“Transfer? To where? Will that work?” Yang Yuanshan’s gaze grew colder.

“Send her to study abroad.”

“Will she go?”

Yang Yunlin opened his mouth but couldn’t find the words to answer.

Yang Qingyin certainly wouldn’t agree to study abroad.

“You should know your daughter’s temperament; the more you force her to do something, the more she resists. Unless there’s a conflict between them, like if that Luo fellow does something to break Qingyin’s heart, then they will separate on their own,” Yang Yuanshan spoke with some annoyance at his son’s obtuseness, needing to spell things out for him.

Upon hearing this, Yang Yunlin’s brow smoothed out, but he also felt it was somewhat beneath him to plan such a thing.

After some thought, he decided to leave the matter to his wife.

Yang Yuanshan gave a few more reminders: “Remember one thing, don’t cause any big commotion for now. The assault on that kid yesterday was someone trying to throw dirt on our Yang Family. More people might try the same thing. So be more careful in what you do. Remember the saying, if you don’t act, it’s better, but if you do, make sure it’s done cleanly without leaving any loose ends.”

“Dad, I understand!”
