Chapter 389: Chapter 389: So Many Unexpected Guests
Luo Ziling, who was sitting there chatting with other classmates in a very low-key manner, had of course seen Fang Dongxun enter, and he noticed the star-struck expression on Li Jiahui’s face, who had previously been indifferent to him, as soon as she saw Fang Dongxun. He immediately concluded that this young man, who was dressed very appropriately and carried an extraordinary demeanor, was not an ordinary person.
However, he had not expected that this young man, who clearly looked like he came from a wealthy family, would actually walk directly toward him.
“If I’m not mistaken, you are Luo Ziling,” Fang Dongxun walked up to Luo Ziling and stopped, then extended his hand generously, “My name is Fang Dongxun, and I am honored to meet you today.”
“I am Luo Ziling,” Luo Ziling stood up, shook hands with the other man with neither humility nor arrogance, then looked at him carefully.
He felt a sense of relief in his heart after realizing that although the other party was a few centimeters taller, he was not as handsome as himself.
Nonetheless, the name Fang Dongxun immediately put him on alert.
The name was very familiar, and it instantly reminded him of what Ling Ruonan had said.
Among the wealthy heirs pursuing Yang Qingyin, there was one called Fang Dongxun, a wealthy and indulgent young master.
Fang Dongxun was the eldest son of the main branch of the Fang Family from Yanjing, a family whose influence was on par with the Ling Family and the Yang Family. After hearing what Ling Ruonan had said, Luo Ziling remembered the name Fang Dongxun, but he never imagined that he would meet him at Ouyang Huihui’s birthday party.
Although the other party had a strong presence, he felt no psychological burden. After finding out that the other party was not as handsome as him, his psychological advantage became even more evident.
Fang Dongxun’s pursuit of Yang Qingyin had been unsuccessful, but Luo Ziling’s relationship with Yang Qingyin was already very good. The two not only held hands and hugged but also had kissed. He believed that none of these intimate interactions had occurred between Fang Dongxun and Yang Qingyin, so his psychological advantage was very clear.
“Who would have thought Mr. Luo was so low-key,” Fang Dongxun did not immediately let go of Luo Ziling’s hand but looked him up and down before saying teasingly, “Are you afraid others will see your handsome face and feel envious?”
Since Fang Dongxun had recognized him immediately upon entering, and even approached him directly, and now made such a comment, Luo Ziling was certain that this indulgent young master had done his research and had not only seen his real face but had seen his dressed-up appearance as well, otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to recognize him right away.
This Fang Dongxun in front of him must also know about his close relationship with Yang Qingyin, otherwise, there would be no reason to ignore everyone else and head straight for him.
“High-profile and low-profile are both attitudes towards life. At different times in life, one needs different attitudes to live by,” Luo Ziling looked at Fang Dongxun calmly, his eyes filled with confidence.
Such a response from Luo Ziling surprised Fang Dongxun, who then burst into laughter: “You’re really no ordinary person.”
Then, he squeezed Luo Ziling’s hand firmly again, patted his shoulder, “I’ll go over there and greet the others first. Let’s have a drink later, and another day, let’s get coffee together.”
“No problem,” Luo Ziling did not refuse, politely agreeing.
Ouyang Huihui knew Fang Dongxun was pursuing Yang Qingyin and thought there would be a conflict when she saw Fang Dongxun walk straight towards Luo Ziling. She hurriedly followed him. However, she was surprised to find the two chatting happily.
Weren’t they supposed to be romantic rivals? At least to a certain extent, that was the case.
Li Jiahui, who was following behind Ouyang Huihui, was also surprised. She certainly felt Fang Dongxun’s perfunctory and arrogant attitude when she had taken the initiative to approach him, but she didn’t mind.
The Li Family, in comparison to the Fang Family, was far behind in status. To be close to Fang Dongxun was merely a wishful thought for them, so when Mr. Fang treated her with such an attitude, she found it quite normal and didn’t mind. However, she didn’t expect that Luo Ziling, whom she had looked down upon, would be received so favorably by Fang Dongxun, who personally welcomed him and even invited him to have coffee.
As a member of the wealthy Li Family, Li Jiahui understood the pride in the hearts of hedonistic young masters like Fang Dongxun. Only those of similar status or particularly outstanding abilities could catch their discerning eyes.
It seemed that Luo Ziling, who dressed unassumingly, was no simple person.
So, she quietly asked Ouyang Huihui a few questions, trying to probe into Luo Ziling’s background, but Ouyang Huihui was reluctant to say more.
With no further leads, Li Jiahui gave up and swayed her hips as she walked over to Fang Dongxun, looking for an opportunity to strike up a conversation.
The door to the private room opened once again, and the arrival of Chen Jiahai surprised Ouyang Huihui yet again.
Neither Fang Dongxun nor Chen Jiahai had been invited by Ouyang Huihui.
Even though she was acquainted with these prodigal young masters and Chen Jiahai even showed intentions of pursuing her, she hadn’t wanted them to attend her birthday gathering. With them there, it was certain that the feel of the party would change.
But guests are guests, and when they came to her door to offer congratulations, she couldn’t turn them away with a cold face. So, she warmly went to greet them.
“Huihui, happy birthday,” Chen Jiahai offered his gift and elegantly wished Ouyang Huihui a happy birthday, praising her beauty, “At first glance, I almost didn’t recognize you. I used to think your sister was more beautiful than you, but today I realized that you are even more beautiful than her. Today, you must be the most dazzling person here. Huh, your sister didn’t come?”
Ouyang Huihui was naturally pleased to hear this as women do like to hear men say flattering things, especially when the man is Chen Jiahai who not only holds a special status but is also handsome.
“My sister is a bit busy and might not come. If she does, it will be late,” Ouyang Huihui said with a smile, making a welcoming gesture, “Please, have a seat inside. Mr. Fang is also here today to join the festivity; he arrived before you.”
“Oh, Dongxun is here too?” Hearing that Fang Dongxun had also come to offer congratulations, Chen Jiahai was a bit surprised. He quickly spotted Fang Dongxun, who was sitting down and talking with others. After nodding to Ouyang Huihui, he went straight over to Fang Dongxun.
While heading towards where Fang Dongxun was seated, Chen Jiahai carefully observed the other attendees.
After a few of Ouyang Huihui’s high school classmates entered, two more unexpected guests arrived, much to Ouyang Huihui’s astonishment.
“I would never have imagined that the two Mr. Lings would attend Huihui’s birthday gathering. It’s such an honor,” Ouyang Huihui greeted them sweetly with a smile and reached out her hand as the newcomers entered, “I warmly welcome both Mr. Lings.”
The newcomers were none other than Ling Haijun, the son of Ling Zhengping, and Ling Haijun, the son of Ling Zhenghui.
With these two Mr. Lings attending her birthday gathering uninvited, Ouyang Huihui felt even more that something unusual was afoot.
Considering she was not familiar with the Ling Family, and although she had some interaction with Ling Haining, they were hardly close. Her interactions with Ling Haijun had been more frequent since they were classmates from adjoining high school classes. But with the acquaintance they had, they shouldn’t have attended her birthday gathering.
It immediately occurred to Ouyang Huihui that Ling Haining and Ling Haijun might have come because of Luo Ziling.
At that thought, Ouyang Huihui’s heart skipped a beat.
