Chapter 33: Dekan's Dangerous Provocation

Outside the demon laboratory.

Dekan closed his eyes to prepare for a grand performance. This would showcase his professional skills as an actor.

Before Dekan could push open the laboratory door, it suddenly swung open on its own. A slender arm reached out and grabbed the collar of his shirt, dragging him inside.

Dekan felt his body become weightless in an instant. In the hands of that other person, he was like a cotton doll. The next moment, he felt a sharp pain in his back as he was pressed against the wall.

He was finally able to have a clear look at the scene before him. The interior of the demon laboratory looked like a dark prison. A strong scent of blood lingered in the air. It resembled a slaughterhouse without the butchers’ knives. Strange utensils were scattered on tables and cabinets. Bearing traces of blood, they seemed more like torture devices.

Dekan had calculated the building area and room layouts of the demon academy and estimated the size of the laboratory. However, the actual size of the laboratory was smaller than his estimate. This indicated that there might be hidden compartments inside the laboratory, and these hidden compartments could be secret cages where humans were held.

He shifted his gaze from the surroundings to the female demon before him. Finally, he could see her clearly; she must be Miss Olive. She had a captivating yet somewhat sinister appearance. A black veil dress tightly hugged her figure, outlining her voluptuous curves. Behind her, a scorpion tail swayed.

Her eyes were filled with mockery and amusement. She stared straight at Dekan as if she wanted to steal his soul. However, soon, a hint of surprise appeared in her eyes.

She felt no fear from Dekan as their eyes met. Dekan remained calm and composed, showing no signs of resistance.

Olive's eyebrows furrowed slightly, but she couldn't detect any fear in Dekan. Instead, he had a faint smile on his face.

"Why aren't you afraid?" Olive asked.

"Why should I be afraid?" Dekan replied.

"I have control over your life," Olive stated.

"But what you want isn't my life," Dekan responded coldly.

Olive fell into brief silence. Soon, her lips curled into a dangerous smile. "Oh? Then answer me, what do I want? If you answer correctly, I'll do as you say. If you answer wrong, I'll make you die in excruciating pain."

Dekan answered with indifference, "I don't like the smell here."

He didn't directly answer Olive's question but instead made a statement that puzzled her. To cover up the scent of blood, the laboratory was filled with a strong perfume, which, combined with the scent of blood, was making Dekan's nose uncomfortable.

Olive, intrigued by Dekan's unusual response, continued, "You don't like it?"

"Yes, it's a mixture of too many inappropriate scents. Not only demon students but also demon teachers and even humans? Olive, how much do you indulge your desires?" Dekan replied absentmindedly.

This change in Dekan's demeanor provoked strong emotions in Olive, from initial shock to anger, and even a concealed murderous intent. However, Dekan remained unflustered with a faint smile.

"Why aren't you afraid of me?" Olive asked.

Dekan simply replied, "Because you can't have what you truly desire."

Olive's expression shifted once more, this time displaying curiosity. She leaned closer to Dekan, her scorpion tail pressing against his abdomen.

"Are you pretending to be ignorant? Remember, I have ways to kill you without breaking any rules. Or if you have any ill intentions, I will make sure to kill you even before I die."

With these words, her scorpion tail was poised to strike, sharp and deadly.

Dekan could feel the icy sting of the scorpion tail. Filled with deadly poison, it was ready to pierce his flesh at any moment. The good news was that Olive had been convinced that he was a school inspector and wasn't trying to claim his body or life anymore.

However, the bad news was that she became extremely cautious.

If he triggered any killing mechanism by accident, his Dekan-style mutually assured destruction tactic might work. But, it carried a high risk.

He needed to time everything perfectly. Equip the Cursed Doll (doubles pain), summon the Ruined Poet (ten times pain sensitivity), and combine it with the Crown of Suffering (thrice pain sensitivity and invulnerability) that he had already equipped. This would create a 60-fold pain return.

The issue was poison; Dekan really despised enemies who used poison. They were just a bunch of despicable cowards. Fortunately, Dekan was well-versed in detoxification. But, unless it was absolutely necessary, he wouldn't go down this path. After all, using the mutual destruction secret technique was only allowed once a month, and it was excruciatingly painful.

Dekan lowered his head, maintaining his silence. His fingers trembled slightly.

He appeared like he was trying his best to, but unable to, control his ever-increasing trembling.
