Chapter 531: I Don’t Kill People with No Names
Unlike the disciples of the WuTang Clan that were born in the Blessed Enclave, the lineage that remained on Earth were basically all born there. They had been law-abiding citizens since they were young.
Restoration of spirit qi had not occurred for many years. Most still retained the mentality of common folk; this was especially so during the era in which the Human Alliance, whose authority and power far surpassed any previous regime, reigned.
It was impossible to escape to foreign lands after getting on the bad side of such a powerful regime; the Human Alliance influenced the entire world.
The only place where somebody could escape was the moon.
Suddenly, Zhang Qingming asked, “Ms. Yun, do you have to be so intimidating?”
Everyone immediately turned their attention towards Zhang Qingming, not knowing what he was up to. The entire event was hosted on WuTang Clan’s territory, after all.
To most people, the clan made it very clear that they were siding with those from the Blessed Enclave.
As such, it was only natural for a representative of the Human Alliance to come asking such weighted questions.
Yun Ling’er did not hesitate to ask, “Who here am I intimidating? Well then, allow me to ask you, Sir Master Zhang, something officially on behalf of the Human Alliance. Is the WuTang Clan siding with those of the Blessed Enclave this time?”
Zhang Qingming then replied, “I’m only here to provide a venue to host the event to facilitate a peaceful negotiation between both parties. In regards to going against the Human Alliance, that would be an impossible feat to ask of the WuTang Clan. Never in history had we ever stood against any regimes.”
Everyone was left rather shocked upon hearing what Zhang Qingming said. This man had been going about the Region of Japan baring his claws and fangs, looking as if he owned the place. Nobody expected him to not plan on going against the Human Alliance.
His actions in Japan shocked the entire world. The leader of the region had been protesting to the Human Alliance several times but was still suppressed by the regime.
The Region of Japan saw Zhang Qingming as a frightening monster who was capable of scaring children into obeying their elders.
Then again, when everyone thought about it, that was how the clan had been going about things throughout the ages. To be more precise, that was how cultivation forces had been going about their business. It was especially so after Liu Bowen severed the dragon’s vein, where only a handful of such forces were ever seen locking horns with authorities.
In contrast, it was commonplace for many cultivation forces to instead sent their disciples to join the reigning regime of the day.
The WuTang Clan was no exception.
Zhang Qingming looked at Yun Ling’er and felt rather impressed. He believed that such a person would’ve been considered extraordinary even back in the Blessed Enclave. The Human Alliance already had such extraordinary experts.
Furthermore, that was how the Human Alliance currently was. It was easy to see that the regime would only get increasingly powerful over time.
By then, the WuTang Clan would have lost any chances they might have had of resisting the regime. After learning what the Human Alliance was capable of, Zhang Qingming immediately came to a decision.
There were still trump cards of greater power left in the Blessed Enclave.
However, the Human Alliance’s trump card, the use of nuclear weapons, was very powerful as well. The regime also had all kinds of technology at their disposal, which meant that they stood a fair chance of resisting the forces of the Blessed Enclave.
As long as the regime had time to grow, the Human Alliance obviously had the potential to become even more powerful. The only way to stem such potential was for those of the Blessed Enclave to stifle the regime’s development.
From the looks of things as they currently were, it was extremely unlikely for such a maneuver to succeed. The Human Alliance had already matured, and it was only a matter of time before it truly reigned supreme.
Zhang Qingming added, “The disciples of the WuTang Clan had always been loyal to the current regime and eager to serve. We are not the kind of people that go out and wreak havoc.”
“I hope you would be able to convey this to your superiors, Ms. Yun.”
Yun Ling’er looked at Zhang Qingming and nodded, feeling impressed that her master actually managed to predict that much. Her master actually knew that, unlike other cultivation heritages from the Blessed Enclave, Zhang Qingming would cooperate.
Things were truly as how her master predicted: those of the Blessed Enclave remained divided for a while. Cultivation forces had no intentions of locking horns with the current reigning regime.
At that moment, a cold voice rang out from behind the mountains. “I heard that you’re a disciple of Lu Xuan. Is that correct? While you’re here, please stay here until your master comes to pick you up.”
While everyone was still left in a daze, someone was suddenly seen walking from that direction. That person was extremely stout and possessed a terrifyingly imposing aura.
The fighters present felt themselves tremble, their bones shaking ever so slightly.
This person was already far stronger than anyone else even after just looking at him.
That man looked unbelievably powerful.
Many were stunned, as that man was not among the 10 from the Blessed Enclave that they came to know.
Then again, that was hardly a surprise. It was impossible for only the 10 from the Blessed Enclave to show up. Other people would have arrived, as well.
Yun Ling’er then simply asked, “Who are you then? Tell me who you are. After all, I don’t kill nobodies.”
That very stout middle-aged man slowly replied, “Yang Long, Sectmaster of the Supreme Fist Sect.”
Everyone saw just how massive his fists were and how imposingly tall he was; he stood over two meters in height.
Everyone could also see how impossibly built his physical body was.
White mist was seen churning out from his nostrils, which he used to envelop his entire body.
“You sure know how to talk big.” Yun Ling’er simply chuckled coldly as she looked at Yang Long. “I heard that 10 of them came this time. Counting Sir Master Zhang, there should be nine others as well. So, where are they? Why would someone as worthless as you be doing this instead?”
Yang Long’s nostril continued to enlarge and his expression looked grim. With such a high status, he had never been so belittled before.
He saw how the girl standing before him dismissed him simply because he was not among the renowned 10.
Yun Ling’er simply continued, “You seriously think someone like you could pose any threat to my master? I’m telling you right now that if you won’t be able to even make it past me, then you have no chance against my master.”
Yun Ling’er added. “My master can take you out with just one finger. Then again, it would be a waste to have someone of his caliber killing someone as worthless as you. I’d be more than enough to take you out instead.” She spoke slowly, making it clear that she saw Yang Long to have been beneath her.
Yang Long was extremely powerful; he was most likely at the peak of the eighth tier of the Divine Treasure Realm by now, being just one step away from breaking into the Ninth Tier.
Nobody doubted that he was one of the strongest under the ninth tier of the Divine Treasure Realm.
Even, Yun Ling’er still did not think much of it.
Instead, Yang Long then burst out in furious laughter. He said, “Alright, that’s wonderful to hear. I initially thought about just taking you alive and using you as bait to lure Lu Xuan out. If you want to die so badly, however, I’d be more than happy to oblige..”
Spiritual Aether then instantly burst all over Yang Long. Seven-colored lights immediately burst all over the place like a disk.
The ambient spirit qi also gushed into Yang Long’s body at a frightening rate.
