Chapter 240: I Am Her Husband
Chapter 240: I Am Her Husband
Chapter 240
This scene was witnessed by a girl nearby, who was internally screaming with excitement.
She immediately shared what she saw with her best friend.
"Sister, sister! I just saw the most romantic novel-worthy scene at the airport. There was this super handsome CEO type, with a bunch of bodyguards following him. He strode towards his girlfriend (or maybe wife) and embraced her tightly. Then he tried to kiss her in front of everyone, but she covered his mouth to stop him. After that, they got into a luxury car and left with the others.
Haha, isn't that just like a dream come true? Both the CEO and the girl were incredibly good-looking. Oh my god, that girl must be so lucky!"
Her friend replied, "Did you take a video? Let me see, let me see! [gossipy look]"
"...No, I was so shocked I forgot to record it. I wonder which tycoon it was with his little sweetheart. It really looked like something out of a fairytale."
Meanwhile, as soon as Chi Yan closed the car door, he raised the privacy partition so no one could see inside. He immediately pulled Chu Yang into his arms, his hand cradling the back of her head as he kissed her deeply.
After a long moment, Chi Yan finally released her. He gently wiped the moisture from the corner of Chu Yang's mouth with his thumb, their foreheads touching as he waited for her to catch her breath before tenderly kissing her again.
One of his hands slid up under her clothes, but Chu Yang caught it, protesting, "No... we can't."
In the end, Chi Yan could only hold her close as they both calmed their breathing.
An hour later, they finally arrived home. Dinner was already prepared. After they finished eating, Chi Yan and Chu Yang sat in the living room.
"What have you been up to at home lately?" Chi Yan asked.
"Nothing much. I just go to classes as usual, and when I have free time, I have meals and chat with Grandpa."
Chi Yan took Chu Yang's hand. "Let's go visit Grandpa together tomorrow." As for his parents, they were no longer in Jing City.
"Okay," she agreed.
Meanwhile, Zhang Zhaoxue was furious to discover that her encounter had been posted online. She threw a massive tantrum in her room. "I told you not to go, but you went anyway. See what happened?" Her manager was left to clean up the mess.
"I did it for us! It's your fault for giving me such poor resources. If I could hook up with CEO Chi, wouldn't that benefit us both?" Zhang Zhaoxue retorted.
"But what's the use of trying to seduce him? He clearly wants nothing to do with you and doesn't even know you. Besides, they say he's married. If you keep throwing yourself at him, people will despise you."
"When you become successful, who cares what others think? Look at Dong Chengyu from Hai City. Didn't she become someone's third wife? Does anyone dare say anything about her now? When you have money and power, nothing else matters."
"Dong Chengyu managed to win Mr. He's favor, but what about you? You need to know your limits. Listen to me, let's focus on our own path. Hard work will pay off. You may not be a top star yet, but you're not doing badly."
Zhang Zhaoxue refused to listen. "No, I want to be at the top. I've known since I was little that I need to be at the top so no one can bully me."
Unable to control her, the manager could only ask the assistant to keep a closer eye on Zhang Zhaoxue while she went to deal with the aftermath.
At the Chi Family Mansion
Chu Yang and Chi Yan came to the mansion to have dinner with Grandpa Chi. Chi Yan's uncle, Chi Xin, was also present.
Chi Bai was delighted. "How's work going?" he asked.
"Very smoothly, Grandpa. Don't worry."
Chi Bai nodded. "That's good. Take a couple of days off to rest and spend time with Chu Yang. Let others handle the non-urgent matters. The company won't fall apart without you."
"I understand, Grandpa."
Chi Xin finished a bite of food and said, "Are those bodyguards I sent working out? Do you need more? If so, I can send a few more your way."
"They're enough. No need for more," Chi Yan replied, feeling they were sufficient.
Chi Xin nodded. "I heard there's some gossip about you online recently?" He glanced at Chu Yang as he asked this, though the question was directed at Chi Yan.
Hearing this, Chi Bai also looked at him. "What's going on?"
Chi Yan knew what Chi Xin was getting at. He immediately put on a wronged expression. "I accidentally stayed at the same hotel as a celebrity, and someone spread rumors. It had nothing to do with me, I swear. I changed hotels the very next day."
Chu Yang chimed in, "I know about this incident. Chi Yan doesn't know that person at all."
"That's right, I don't know her at all," Chi Yan affirmed.
Hearing this, Chi Bai understood the situation. "Since it's a false rumor, we'll sue. The Chi Corporation's legal team isn't kept around for nothing."
"I understand, Grandpa. The company's legal team is already handling it."
"Good. That should take care of it."
After dinner, Chu Yang and Chi Yan stayed for a while longer before leaving.
That night, the bedroom light stayed on until dawn. Droplets of sweat fell from Chi Yan's body onto Chu Yang's chest. Chu Yang felt as if she was being thrown into the air and falling rapidly, her waist tightly gripped as she was at his mercy. The light didn't go out until nearly dawn. Since Chi Yan didn't have to go to work, they slept until noon, missing breakfast entirely.
When they left the room and saw the housekeepers, Chu Yang felt a bit embarrassed. Chi Yan had been incredibly intense last night—a month of pent-up desire had made him relentless.
...
At the university, Chu Yang hugged her materials to her chest as she left the department building, heading towards the school gate. Chi Yan was coming to pick her up, so she was going to wait for him there.
As she walked, a voice suddenly called out from behind, "Senior, Senior Chu Yang?"
Chu Yang turned around to see a junior she knew. She nodded at him.
Zhang Jingcheng stopped his bicycle, smiling sweetly. His smile revealed two dimples, and combined with his fair complexion, he looked endearingly innocent. "Senior, what a coincidence! Where are you headed? Can I give you a ride?"
Chu Yang had met Zhang Jingcheng at Professor Li Dejong's house when she went to pick up some research materials. Zhang Jingcheng was the child of one of Professor Li's relatives and also a student at A University, though only in his sophomore year.
Zhang Jingcheng was very friendly and, upon learning that Chu Yang also attended A University, immediately started calling her "Senior."
Chu Yang shook her head. "I'm heading to the school gate. We're probably not going in the same direction, so there's no need. Thank you, though."
But Zhang Jingcheng insisted it wasn't a problem. "Senior, I can take you to the school gate first and then head back on my own. It's no trouble at all." He patted the back of his bicycle seat. "Hop on, Senior!"
Chu Yang still declined. "Really, there's no need. Thank you. I should get going."
Zhang Jingcheng looked a bit disappointed but didn't push further. "Then can I walk with you, Senior? I'll just push my bike. I have some questions I'd like to ask you."
Before Chu Yang could say anything, Zhang Jingcheng asked her a question, so Chu Yang had to answer him.
They walked together to the school gate, where Chu Yang stood waiting.
Zhang Jingcheng looked at Chu Yang and asked, "Senior, are you waiting for someone?"
Chu Yang replied, "Yes, someone from my family is coming to pick me up."
"Oh, so Senior is also from Jing City? Which district do you live in?"
Just then, Chi Yan arrived and saw a man standing next to Chu Yang, talking to her. He immediately got out of the car and approached Chu Yang, taking the things from her hands. "Let's go home. Auntie has prepared your favorite dishes today."
Zhang Jingcheng, seeing this person leading his senior away, called out, "Hey! Who are you?"
Chi Yan acted as if he had just noticed him, "Huh? Oh, I'm her husband."
Zhang Jingcheng: ???!!!
Senior Chu Yang is married???
