Coco blinked his large eyes. In the morning, this unpleasant witch had been harsh with him, but now... Could he have misunderstood her?
"Let's have dinner first." Li Zhenting took Ding Ding from Shen Mei's hands and cradled him in his arms, speaking calmly.
Coco rested his head on Daddy's shoulder as the servants approached, addressing him as "Young Master" and "Little Young Master."
Shen Mei followed behind, showering him with exceptional tenderness, even more so than Lan Lan.
Being just a child, Coco felt a bit confused.
After dinner, Coco took a bath and returned to the kid's room.
Li Zhenting pushed the door open and walked in.
"Son, why did you go to Guqi Plaza?" His expression turned serious.
Today, he personally witnessed Shen Ning talking to Ding Ding as if they knew each other. This made him extremely cautious, and he needed to understand the situation.
He was concerned that Shen Ning, seeking revenge, had secretly targeted Ding Ding!
That would be too dangerous!
Coco's eyes darted around, and he spoke in a childish voice, "Daddy, I was indeed angry and ran away after Mommy hit me. But later, I realized I was wrong and wanted to apologize to Mommy. So, I went to Guqi Plaza where Mommy works."
"Mmm." Li Zhenting nodded, finding this explanation acceptable.
"What did that woman say to you? Do you know her?" Li Zhenting continued his questioning.
Coco blinked his eyes innocently, pretending not to understand, and asked, "Which woman? Who are you talking about?"
Li Zhenting's gaze darkened slightly. "Before you ran into the internet cafe, a woman spoke to you. Who was she? Why did she talk to you? What did she say?"
"Oh, that woman. I don't know her, but she somewhat resembles Mommy, and she is gentle and beautiful. I really liked her, so I called her 'Auntie.' She smiled at me and asked where the adults were and why I was alone. Daddy said that children shouldn't talk to strangers, so I was afraid Daddy would be angry, and I ran away."
"Oh." Li Zhenting suddenly understood.
It seemed that Shen Ning didn't know Ding Ding; it was merely a coincidental encounter!
"Son, you mustn't wander around like that in the future. It's dangerous outside." Li Zhenting's face turned stern. Children's worlds were too innocent; they didn't understand the complexities of society. "If something happens, you should call Daddy, understand?"
"I understand."
Coco nodded, smiling mischievously. Then, he tentatively asked, "Daddy, that Auntie today was really gentle and beautiful. Do you like her?"
Li Zhenting was taken aback and immediately furrowed his brow. "Son, what nonsense are you talking about?"
Coco pouted. He wasn't talking nonsense. Daddy had promised to marry my Mommy. She's my Mommy.
"Ding Ding, a true man should be responsible and able to handle consequences. He should be able to forgive. Running away and avoiding problems all the time isn't the way. Today, Mommy was angry and hit you. I have already reprimanded her, but you are her son, and sons shouldn't hit their mothers. Do you understand?"
He truly had a headache. This child kept running from home. He acted like a coward running away from problems. Could there be something wrong with his upbringing?
His genes were exceptional, and his son's genes would be even better.
"I understand." Coco pouted.
He would never hit his Mommy, who was beautiful and gentle. It was only that annoying ugly witch he wanted to teach a lesson!
"Alright, it's time to sleep. It's getting late." Li Zhenting glanced at his watch, carried Coco to bed, covered him with a blanket, and turned off the lights before leaving.
In truth, Ding Ding was lively and cheerful, albeit mischievous. He was quite adorable, and Li Zhenting liked him a lot. Recently, Ding Ding had improved significantly compared to before—more enthusiastic, lively, and interested in everything. He was much happier than his previous cold and indifferent self. Li Zhenting was pleased.
After leaving the room, he turned and headed towards Lan Lan's bedroom.
