Chapter 513 - Preparations Had Been Completed
After the St. Claire's family had bid goodbye to the Tanners and the rest present with them, they headed back to their estate.
Since Summer had officially begun, the children had no classes due to the vacation period.
Howard had to complete the assignments given to him by his tutors from the Royal Academy while Yvonne only had to finish the workload that Marquess Samed had assigned to her before this vacation had begun.
However, the little girl was not as diligent as her brother in doing her home assignments as she knew what would happen next.
'The plague would hit the Kingdom soon and everybody would be so caught up in it to even bother about these assignments.' She deduced and thus took her sweet time, without even bothering to glance at her homework.
After all, she had more pressing matters to attend to.
Just as Duchess Tanner had promised, she did not let Marquess Samed travel through the fiefs alone.
A couple of days after Yvonne's encounter with the Tanner family, she heard the news about them from her sources.
The entire Tanner family and the troops of the Red Scorpion Knights had begun their journey to the Tanner fief for their rigorous summer training camp.
The Duchess also made sure to drag her younger brother along with her despite his constant rejections.
With Duke Tanner's support, the Royal Tutor had no way of escaping from their clutches and thus he too was brought along to the Tanner fief with the rest of their personnel.
When Yvonne had heard of this, she was glad that she had left this task in the Duchess' capable hands.
'At least now I won't have to be worried about him wandering around the other fiefs in search of his fated etcher.' She sighed while rubbing her forehead because she got a headache each time she thought of her troublesome tutor.
Her source of information was the letter she received from the Duchess and also a detailed report regarding this matter from Jax, who had collaborated with her father's secret guards.
Her Butler had already learned the ropes well from Butler Limo and had also proven his worth to the men of her family.
Therefore, Jax was now accepted as her aide by everyone in the St. Claire family no matter how reluctant they had been in the past.
Yvonne smiled when she thought of the sulking faces her father and brother had when Butler Limo and the head of the secret guards had announced that Jax had completed training under them, proving himself competent enough to serve their Young Miss.
She was happy with this development and also glad that she was rid of the troubling thoughts which had given her some sleepless nights.
With the Marquess, Duchess, and Taylor safely reaching the Tanner fief, she did not have to fear for their lives as she had managed to keep them safe this time around.
Thus, the little girl had moved onto the next matter which needed her attention.
'We will be leaving for the St. Claire fief tomorrow morning.' She recalled her itinerary for the next day.
As per usual, their family would spend their summer in their ancestral estate in the St. Claire fief where she would also celebrate her seventh birthday this year.
However, what the others did not know was that they would most likely not be able to travel back to the Capital even after summer comes to an end.
She was confident of this speculation as in the script that Asmodeus had written, this plague had lasted for more than a year and devastated a large part of the Kingdom.
'Even in that dream, Yvonne and her family were stuck in their summer estate for fear of contracting the plague if they traveled back to the Capital.' She recalled important information that she was privy to.
She had proposed the 'Lockdown' method to the King through Marquess Samed so she was sure that it would be implemented once the members of the Royal Medical Association perceived the severity of the plague.
Sighing at this thought, she shut the ledgers of CLOVER which she had been maintaining from its inception.
She had already planned to send a command to her Uncle Marcus that all transport of the materials would be ceased when the King sends out the Royal Decree of the 'Lockdown' throughout the land.
Her preparations had been completed and all that was left to do was sending out these instructions when the plague would make its appearance.
'It should be sometime next week.' She surmised after thinking about the timeline that had been mentioned in the script.
Since the plague would affect the Southern fiefs and slowly make its way to the North, she and her family had more than enough time to travel to their fief.
She could also communicate her instructions to the Valente fief which shared a border with them.
{Squak}
The loud cry of an eagle distracted Yvonne from her thoughts as she got off her bed and walked closer to the window.
Peeping outside, she found a familiar face after a very long period.
'Demon, Tutu is here.' She did not forget to inform her etcher about the appearance of the other etcher who had been away for a while.
'Coming, Master!' The huge beast's answer echoed in her mind and she was sure that Demon must be galloping over to this side of the mansion.
The last time that Tutu had appeared here, Demon had sulked that he was late to keep an eye on the bird.
Hence, the dependable Master had called her etcher lest he pouted and sulked once again.
While she waited for Demon to arrive, Tutu had already entered her room through the window and perched on the desk.
It was close to dusk and orange hues of the sun's rays were entering her room as she smiled at the majestic etcher belonging to her friend.
"How have you been, Tutu?" She inquired, stepping closer to the bird.
The nod she received from Tutu made her chuckle after which she untied the knot on her leg and extracted the letter from it.
'That wily feather brain is inside your room, Master?' Demon's irate voice echoed in her ear, making her laugh louder at the name he had called Tutu.
The bird tilted her head as she could not hear what Yvonne could.
However, the child did not answer but began reading the letter addressed to her.
{We've returned to the Capital.
Except for a few fief lords in connection with Earl Blaise, the rest of them have signed deals with CLOVER.
All personnel of Ocular have also been dispatched and will be here before the week comes to an end.
Sevenz Oca
Your best friend <3}
Yvonne read through the letter which gave her a precise summary of everything that she had asked him to report once he returned.
According to her instructions, Ocular would approach the fief lord of the respective fief after completing their business there.
If they accepted CLOVER's offer and signed a contract then Ocular would transport more supplies.
However, if they chose to stick to Earl Blaise's soaps then there was nothing left for Ocular to do there and they would soon depart from there.
She had also warned Sevenz about staying away from the Southern fiefs which he had paid heed to without doubting her even once.
He assured her that once they completed their task down south, he and his men would soon return to the Capital and he had done exactly that.
Yvonne was glad that he had returned before any bad news about the plague was heard and also that his staff would be here soon.
Thinking of something, the little girl picked up a pen and paper before writing him a reply.
{I'm happy to hear of your return but sad that I won't be able to meet you.
We leave for the St. Claire fief tomorrow and will not return until the summer ends.
As a small gift to express my gratitude for what you have accomplished in such a short amount of time, you and your men are free to spend your summer in either the St. Claire or the Valente fiefs.
So please make sure you visit us.
Yvonne St. Claire
Your friend and business partner}
Having written everything she wished to relay to her friend, Yvonne tied the letter back on Tutu's leg and watched as the etcher flew away to her Master's side.
'Good riddance.' Demon murmured, making the little girl laugh once again while being silent that the bird would be back soon.
