Chapter 668 - Wont Greet Your Tutor?

Chapter 668 - Wont Greet Your Tutor?

Chapter 668 - Won't Greet Your Tutor?

Marquess Samed had just completed his class with the Princess and her playmates.

As he headed out of the Rose Palace where the classes had been held, his mind went back to the observations he had made during today's class with the three little girls.

During the period of Lockdown, Governess Bloom had taken good care of Princess Felicia and Miss Glennise Brodie, the two girls who were still in the Capital at that time.

Originally, she had been assigned the position of Royal Tutor as she had taught both King Ophire and Prince Draco during their childhood days before they could receive further and more formal education.

Due to certain circumstances, he had taken over that role and she had become his assistant later on.

Despite her position at this moment, he knew that she was quite capable of teaching the young girls and that was exactly what he had witnessed today.

The elderly lady had taught the Princess and Miss Glennise, nurturing them in his absence as he had been stuck in the Tanner fief throughout the duration of the plague.

Therefore, it was easy for him to evaluate their progress as those two girls had not fallen behind in their studies thanks to the old lady's guidance.

However, they had never been his object of concern from the very beginning.

It was the youngest child of the Kiron family whom he was most worried about.

Replacing Miss St. Claire, Rika Kiron had been chosen as the final playmate for the Princess.

While she struggled to keep up, Marquess Samed was proud of her for trying her hardest and always giving it her all so that she might not drag her friends down due to her lacking ability.

However, this was when they would study together but that was not what had taken place during the plague.

Rika had been in her fief when the plague struck so she was unable to study under the tutelage of the old and experienced Governess which could have helped her progress faster.

However, what stunned the Marquess today was to see that even without studying with the two girls during the last year, Rika Kiron was still able to keep up with them.

Ever the curious man, he questioned her about how she had learned these things when she was not in the Capital.

Upon hearing her answer, the Royal Tutor and even Governess Bloom who was observing their class from the side were both impressed.

'The youngest son of the Kiron family has a talent for teaching.' Marquess Sullivan Samed praised the young boy who had graduated from the Royal Academy with the highest grades a few years ago.

In his thoughts, the man with silver hair had reached the Main Palace where his carriage was already waiting for him.

He had been lost in his thoughts about these three girls that he had forgotten about his other pupil.

Ever since he had taken up the job of the Royal Tutor, Marquess Samed had lowered the number of girls he taught.

They were already very few in number and now only a handful of girls outside the palace were under his care.

Among them was the girl that he was about to meet soon.

As his carriage rushed after exiting the Palace grounds, he stared out of the window while waiting to reach his destination.

If someone were to look at him right now, they would call him calm and collected thanks to the serene and languid pose that he was assuming inside his carriage.

Unfortunately, what seemed to the eye could be deceiving sometimes and in this particular situation, that statement would be true.

Contrary to the calm appearance that he was embodying right now, his inner state was far from it.

His eyes shifted at a high speed, not staying in one place for too long, depicting a sign of nervousness and anxiety which he was experiencing right now.

There was also a sheen of perspiration forming over his forehead as they got closer to their destination.

The carriage driver had no clue about his Master's inner conflict and only did what he was always commanded to do, rush towards the estate of his Master's most favored pupil.

Marquess Samed could only curse his previous orders to the carriage driver because they had reached their destination in no time.

As he alighted from the carriage that had come to a halt before the doors of the St. Claire mansion, his dreading eyes fell on the doors that were already opened for him.

Jax, his pupil's butler whom he had met in the past, was here to welcome him and escort him to the study room they always used.

This duty was usually assigned to Butler Limo in the past but ever since Yvonne had announced Jax as her butler, all the tasks associated with her were done by the younger butler instead.

The two spoke no words after the initial greeting and walked in silence until they reached the door of the study room.

Jax announced the tutor's arrival before pushing the door open for him.

He then shut the door once the man had entered and went about his schedule as he had other tasks to complete as well.

Thus he had been unable to witness the chilling scene inside that room just now.

___

Yvonne raised her head when she heard Jax's voice coming from outside.

The name announced belonged to the man she had been waiting to meet in a private space.

'And I finally got that chance.' She sneered but immediately concealed it before anyone could enter.

She had already asked Jax to give them their privacy and also ordered him to take Mrs. Jacinth and Roselie away as well.

The two maids would usually wait outside the room for her to complete her class with her tutors but today they were sent away ahead of time.

Confused as they were, they did not disobey and chose to complete their other chores before returning to their Miss once her classes were completed.

Thus, when Marquess Samed entered the eerily silent room, he found the child seated at her regular spot with her head lowered.

His body shivered as he felt that there was something odd ever since he had entered the mansion today.

Unlike the hustle and bustle that he would witness in the past, he recalled that he had not seen many servants rushing around today.

The only soul he had seen was the young butler and now this little girl who had not yet raised her head to greet him.

This was because every other member of the St. Claire family was busy with their own schedule and had not been around.

The Earl was away with the Viscount while the boys had headed to the Commercial District.

On the other hand, the Countess and Viscountess were currently in the Piano room which was far away from the room where Yvonne and the Marquess were right at this moment.

Thus, the servants too weren't around as their masters were away or in some other place.

Not to mention that Yvonne had sent her maids away to give her some privacy with the man she had a lot to talk about today.

Therefore, the Marquess gulped in trepidation as he sensed that something was out of the ordinary today.

"Won't greet your tutor?" He chuckled, albeit a nervous one, when he saw that she had not yet looked his way.

Ever since yesterday when he had known of what the King had done, exposing the secret that was supposed to be between them, this child had not looked at him even once.

Though there were moments when their eyes had made contact, she had looked away almost immediately as though she was unwilling to give him any of her attention.

This made the Marquess grumble in his heart as his anxiety rose further.

Yvonne's lips curved into a mocking smirk when she heard his words but she controlled her expressions before finally raising her head.

The indifferent look on the child's face was different from the ones that he was used to seeing in the past.

She would smirk, sneer, and mock him on days that she was upset and on other days, she would display a radiant smile to welcome him.

Therefore, seeing her after the long absence, he wished that she would greet him in that way once again.

However, he understood that she was mad at him for what he had done in the past and could only remain silent without making his thoughts known to her.

"Greetings, Marquess. Have a seat." A cold voice echoed in the silent room, snapping the only other occupant out of his thoughts.

Marquess Samed was glad that she had finally acknowledged his presence and hurried to take his seat.

Now that they were at the same eye level, Yvonne met his eyes and held their gaze, not looking away this time.

"Shall we begin?" She spoke, once again using the same cold voice as before.

Marquess Samed wasn't used to this indifference from her and desperately wished to change it.

"Yvonne-"

"It's Miss St. Claire."

The Marquess was stunned silent when she interrupted what he was about to say and even corrected the single word that he had uttered.

Yvonne did not cower from his gaze but looked him right in the eye when she changed the way he had just addressed her.

The name he used was meant for people she was close to and trusted, not for those who betrayed her trust and kept her in the dark for so many years.
