Chapter 690 - All Hers
Yvonne's words echoed in the silent room, bringing their attention to her.
Her words, though presumptuous, were indisputable as that was what they had seen so far.
Demon's sudden appearance and soon after forming a bond with her was nothing short of a hard to believe yet true fairytale for them.
Being a girl she was able to form a bond with such a fearsome but formidable beast.
Not to mention that Yvonne's revelation earlier proved that he had been kept restrained by bad men and had broken free from them.
He fled his captor's residence and somehow landed up in the St. Claire's estate.
By some stroke of luck, the child had been there and was drawn towards him when she laid her eyes on the black horse grazing silently in their field.
Demon did not go through with his attack but halted when their eyes met and even without knowing what was happening, the two souls were linked together.
Therefore it was only natural to assume that these two were fated all along.
They had not yet figured out why she was able to form a bond with an etcher in the first place but now a new mystery connected to her had surfaced.
Thankfully, they at least had a clue about it this time.
"So Demon being brought to this Kingdom then reaching this place and finally meeting Vonny was all a part of his fate?" Howard, who had been silent until now finally spoke up.
He knew that those who had awakened their inherent powers would inevitably meet their fated beast at the chosen time.
Thus he had not taken the issue of him not yet finding his etcher to heart.
While his father had found his beast when he was a youngster, Marquess Samed found his etcher just last year.
Therefore, he was in no hurry and neither was he fretting about when he would find his fated beast.
Now learning that Demon had made his way towards his fated Master after such twists and turns, he was even more confident that he would meet the one who was fated to him in their destined time.
Yvonne had a slight smile on her face at the thought of being Demon's fated one.
In the dreams pertaining to the memories of 'Yvonne' from the script, she had seen Demon once in that meadow while she was traveling to another destination with her father.
However, that was the only contact the two had after which they never faced each other ever again.
The image which popped up in her mind worked as a reminder to Yvonne that her Demon was hers alone and their bond was not something that belonged to 'Yvonne'.
Neither was it something that she had acquired after taking possession of this body.
Demon was fated to her and not 'Yvonne' as that young miss from her dreams had never done any of the feats that she had accomplished until now.
This was the cause of the smile which had formed on the child's lips.
Topher had learned a lot from this visit to the St. Claire's estate and bringing up Demon's matter earlier had even saved him from the Earl's wrath which had bubbled up out of nowhere.
While they were sitting in silence, Butler Limo knocked on the door and relayed a message sent by their chef to the Madam who nodded before sending him away.
"Lunch had been prepared so why don't we continue our conversation there." Countess Raylene announced and received nods from everyone present.
When Topher had first arrived, she had already informed the chef that two more guests would be dining with them as even Marquess Samed had decided to stay back.
Therefore, this large group was now all set to consume the meal that the chef had prepared with a lot of effort.
However, before they could leave the room, Raylene turned around and scanned her eyes across the people present here.
"I suggest that you first freshen up then meet us in the Dining Hall." She pointed out while giving their clothes a quick peek.
The four boys had just returned from their trip to the Commercial District and she was sure that they must have touched so many things along the way.
Therefore, her suggestion was to be mindful of what they brought into their home and also to make sure that they did not touch their food with these unclean hands.
Not only the boys but also the two men were the same as they too had headed outside for quite some time today.
Her husband had even placed their daughter on his lap which had caused her soiled dress to deposit some of its dirt on his trousers as well.
This discovery made Rutherford nod as he would have changed his clothes anyway.
Finally, Raylene's gaze landed on her daughter then on her opponent for the day.
"Young Master Topher can also wash up before lunchtime." She mentioned it because he too had traces of dirt on the ends of his trousers.
Though not as visibly soiled as Yvonne's clothes, Topher knew that he too needed to wash up so he accepted her kind intentions without any reluctance.
Finally, the mother's attention fell on her daughter whose pretty dress was ruined for now.
"Mama, can you help me?" The child inquired, stretching her hands out towards the Countess.
Rutherford had been carrying her around but now, Yvonne decided to jump ship and go to her mother instead.
However, he did not sulk and pout but was quick in his movements as he passed their daughter to his wife.
'Do your best Vonna!' He cheered for his child whose intentions he had deciphered almost instantly.
Yvonne wrapped her hands around her mother's neck and was in time to catch the encouraging expressions on her father's face.
In response, she smiled at him and nodded, implying that she would try her best.
With this, everyone headed towards their assigned rooms.
Since Marquess Samed and Viscountess Trisha Valente were the only ones who didn't require returning to their room, they decided to head to the Dining Hall first.
Seeing his wife chuckling while conversing with Marquess Samed and his etcher, Viscount Valente hurried to his room to freshen up so that he might not leave his lovely wife alone with that infuriating bachelor for too long.
The twins rolled their eyes at their overly jealous father but soon chuckled and went their own way.
Their room had been assigned on the same floor as the St. Claire siblings and hence they all went together.
However, the guest rooms for Taylor and Topher were on the ground floor which meant that they would have to go their separate ways.
"Hmph!" The younger sibling harrumphed at his brother before he ignored him and began following the maid to his assigned room.
Topher raised his brow but did not object to this insolent behavior from Taylor.
Thus everyone left the Parlor after deciding to reunite in the Dining Hall in less than half an hour to have a meal together.
___
Inside her room, Yvonne was sent to the bathroom as soon as she entered.
Raylene instructed Roselie on what dress to prepare for the Young Miss while Mrs. Jacinth helped her change out of the sullen clothes and washed her up.
Working in perfect coordination, it took them mere minutes to have the Miss out of her old clothes and into her new ones.
Roselie even combed her hair before twisting it into a long braid that rested on her shoulder.
Ever since the last haircut, the little girl had not gotten another one which allowed her hair to grow back to its original length.
Therefore, now the child in a lavender dress with peach flowers embroidered on it was standing before the mirror, admiring Roselie's artistic vision.
Raylene's lips curved into a smile upon seeing her daughter's adorable visage in the reflection of the mirror.
When Yvonne caught sight of this smile, she too smiled at her mother while continuing to look at her through that same mirror.
"Could you wait outside for a while?" Her soft voice resounded in the room which had been silent until now.
Mrs. Jacinth and Roselie understood that this was meant for them and bowed immediately before taking their leave.
Now only a pair of mother and daughter were left inside this large and well-decorated room.
Turning around, Yvonne maintained that smile as she walked towards her mother.
"Mama, I know that you are worried about Vonny." She muttered when her feet came to a halt before the Countess.
Raylene's smile fell when she was reminded about what she had learned in the Parlor earlier.
"And yet you do things that make me worry more.." The anxious mother retorted as her expressions hardened.
