Chapter 784 - Miss Elna Is Too Kind

When Princess Felicia and the other girls had reached the place where they were heading, they turned around only to find one pair of girls had not yet arrived.

A few seconds later, their brows raised when they saw Miss St. Claire and the elder daughter of the Kiron family walking hand in hand, appearing to be closer than they ever were before.

Yvonne was supporting Aleena who was attempting to master the tricks she had been taught a while ago.

Her feet no longer sunk into the grass but she was not yet confident of walking without the support of the other girl.

Thus she had held onto Yvonne, making the others misunderstand that the bond between these two girls was deeper than they had imagined earlier.

Neither of them clarified this misconception and only smiled when they reached them.

The place where they had arrived was a short distance from the garden of the Rose Palace.

A small grove forest behind this palace had been chosen as their location for the tea party which was often a picnic spot for the Royal siblings that no one knew of.

At this place, a large canopy had already been set up for them made with a pure white cloth that was perfect to block the rays coming from the sun that would get worse as the day prolongs.

A large table was placed under this canopy and the thin curtains attached to it allowed breeze to enter, giving them a refreshing feeling as they each took their places at the table.

Aleena finally let go of Yvonne's hand, blushing when she realized that she had been holding onto her even when they had stopped walking.

Yvonne did not mind it and even smiled at the other girl who blushed further before averting her gaze.

On the opposite side of the table, Elna Leopold frowned when she found the pleasant atmosphere between the two girls she did not have a good impression of.

She had worn pink today after learning from her elder brother that the best pink-colored gems their family business procured were often purchased by the Royal family.

The Princess liked pink so the King showered her with jewels of the same color.

This had been the reason for Elna wearing pink because, unlike the other girls, she knew that the Princess's fascination with the color was great and she liked anyone who shared the same preference as her.

As she had planned, the Princess's attitude towards her was warmer than the others which only caused her to raise her chin higher.

She was waiting to see the sullen look on Aleena's face that she was not able to gain the attention of the host but what she found was vastly contrary to her expectations.

Only the moment when she had arrived, Aleena's narrowed eyes were aimed at her.

However, after that, her attention had been on the daughter of the St. Claire family and this was not sitting right with her.

"Is Miss Kiron alright?" She questioned in a concerned voice, making everyone first glance at her then at the other girl who was the same age as her.

'What is she planning now?' Yvonne's lips curved downward just a little as she could not frown when so many pairs of eyes were looking in her direction.

Princess Felicia was just about to instruct the maids to bring out the snacks and tea when she heard this query.

She wanted this day to become a good memory for everyone so was worried that Aleena was not feeling good right now.

Aleena's face was indeed red but it was only the embarrassment for what she had experienced earlier when she had taken the support of a younger girl rather than leading her like an elder was supposed to do.

However, her blushing appearance became a means for Elna to bring everyone's attention to her.

If this was in the past then she would have scowled and spat out something disrespectful towards her.

'Not anymore.' She declared while putting on a gentle smile as she glanced at the girl who had spoken just now.

"Miss Elna is kind to notice that I'm getting flushed due to the heat." She replied calmly, not retaliating how she used to in the past.

When Aleena had mentioned Yvonne's advice to her mother and siblings after the party at the Tanner estate, they had encouraged her to do the same.

Her mother sighed, reminding her that she had also said the same but the young girl had never listened.

However, it was better late than never and Marchioness Kiron was glad that Aleena was growing into an intelligent young girl now.

Thus she decided to not act how Elna hoped that she would and also make sure that no one would compare her with Elna Leopold ever again.

"But I should thank Miss Elna for noticing it before I even could." She added, maintaining that smile and loving every second of it.

"You must care about me very much." She even went as far as to display a grateful smile towards the girl who was now glaring at her.

Princess Felicia's worries faded when she heard these words, unaware of the past confrontations between these two girls.

Hence she also glanced at Elna and nodded at her, proving that she had done a good thing.

Watching this entire incident through the eyes of a mere spectator, Yvonne was enjoying every second of it.

From Aleena retorting with a gentle smile all the way to the dissatisfied expression on Elna's face which she had to conceal with haste when the Princess looked at her.

Elna was furious to hear Aleena's words of praise which sounded like mockery to her but she could only swallow this insult in silence because she had an image to uphold.

"This is what I should do." She muttered in a soft voice, unwilling to let the girl whom she had always suppressed gain an advantage over her after such a long time.

Yvonne already knew that Elna was not an easy opponent so she wasn't too surprised when the other girl was able to turn the situation around for her.

On the other hand, Aleena's lips twitched when she saw her acting kind and benevolent.

However, when she noticed Yvonne staring at her as though she was waiting to see if she would lose her calm, she smiled and nodded, not continuing this conversation any longer.

Princess Felicia was ignorant of the thoughts in their minds and hence decided to commence the main event for this special day.

"I asked the chefs to prepare something special for us." She announced while clapping her hands in excitement.

The maids understood her instructions and hurried to set the table for them and in no time, a variety of snacks and desserts were placed before them.

The Princess did not know the trend followed outside the Palace so she had prepared only one type of tea, her favorite, honey lemon tea.

Yvonne was already aware of the Princess's preferences thanks to the dreams she had from time to time and had no problem with the tea being served so she sipped it in silence.

Her goal for today was to stay on the sidelines, never bringing any attention to her and it was safe to assume that she had been doing an excellent job so far.

Even now, the conversation was focused on Cecily Yona, discussing how her coming-of-age ceremony would take place soon.

The young girl was fifteen this year and when she turned sixteen, she would be considered an adult in their Kingdom.

'That explains why she is wearing that dress.' Yvonne surmised after connecting the dots.

Cecily was preparing for her debut into noble society as an adult where she would be expected to wear this type of mature styled clothing soon.

Thus it was understandable that she was already wearing such dresses which helped her to let go of the persona of a little girl and venture into the world of women where she would soon be in.

Yvonne was seated between Aleena and Moana Jorbin, focusing on the snacks prepared by the Royal chefs who had done an excellent job.

'Much better than the stores in the Commercial District.' She praised without holding back as she was quite impressed with what she was eating today.

The ambiance under the canopy was peaceful but when have things remained the same for too long?
