Chapter 317 317: The Dungeon Of The Dragon Queen II
Chapter 317 317: The Dungeon Of The Dragon Queen II
?
There was an active market before the entrance of the dungeon, from it Cole could see a couple of stalls with banners on them, probably belonging to some organizations of powers. Everyone had a vested stake in this place, dungeons were rare within the ,multiverse, and they could not be easily seeded.
For example dungeons can not be created in worlds that have had dungeon presence for at least a 100 years. Which usually meant that the best and only way to get access t0o dungeons and the resources they need, was to seed new worlds/universes with cores.
which is pretty much what everyone was trying to do with earth. Dungeons were seemingly endless wells of resources that cam be gained and used for a variety of things, chief among them the harvesting of prisms. Which in turn gave extra stats and skills as opposed to what you get from leveling.
Cole shook his head, he had eyes on him now, though most of the aspirants here already knew who he was and just how dangerous he is too. So they stayed out of his way, he was not aware, but Cole had a reputation for being a solo player and also being very difficult to work with. His streams had not told them otherwise.
But while Cole was a no go area for the aspirants here, all of them of course from earth just as he was, the denizens had no idea who he was. So when he marched up to the entrance there was a group of people there already waiting, with weapons, acting as sort of guards.
Cole idly noticed that there were people paying them money before they could get access to the dungeon. Cole wondered why that was. He waited for his turn though after he noticed that they were just paying a gold coin to get access to the dungeon. He had no idea why that was necessary, but the cost was small so it was no bother to him.
He drew out a single gold coin, and was about to hand it over to the guard when said guard placed a hand on Cole's chest. He was a bit taller than Cole, and far more stockier than Cole's lean muscular frame. Cole sighed and asked with a soft voice, not at all willing to play around with this guard.
"What is it? Do you need anything else?"
"Of course, for you though the entrance will be a 100 gold coins." the guard had a wide grin on his face, while the rest of his friends snickered around him. Cole nodded his head and placed his hand on the guard's shoulder as if he was greeting an old friend.
[Sin Eater]
A blaze of golden lights quickly suffused the guard as he let out screams of pain while everyone else watched on in shock. The guard desiccated, his energy and life force dragged out until only a husk was left behind. Cole did not spare the husk a second look as he used smooth strides to cross the threshold and enter the dungeon, his gold coin finding its way back into his inventory.
[Sin Eater Has Been Used! +2200 To Charisma! +900 Energy]
As if he needed any more confirmation that the guard was weak. He only gave points to a single stat, and much more than that was the fact he also only had 900 energy to spare. Cole had slain silver ranked beings with more energy. But never the less it did not matter, if there would be trouble from dealing with this guard he would deal with it once he was out of the dungeon.
As Cole crossed the threshold the first thing that he saw or rather noticed was that he was standing in the middle of a forest. Only one problem about that, all of the trees were petrified, they were all stone. He was in a small clearing and it did not seem as if he would have anything coming for him at the moment.
This dungeon had five floors, and every monster within it were all at the gold rank, so he probably had his work cut out for him, but most of all he would probably complete his slaying quest in hereā¦.. or perhaps it was specific to him having to slay monsters in the sea and not in a dungeon.
Regardless he would find out soon enough though, there was absolutely no sound being heard, and because of the forest, with trees as tall as a 50 meters all tightly bunched together, it was hard to get a proper idea of his surroundings. It did not look as if there was a definite path, perhaps this was one of those slay monsters and find the path to the next floor's dungeon.
That was not a problem, but Cole had to check his stats, this was something he has not been able to do yet, and he needed to take care of it quickly, before shit hits the fan. There was some growth at least, and he needed to observe them properly.
Cole was never really sure how powerful he was until he has seen his stats, or at least the pending notifications that he has. So best get through anything that's pending before he finds himself in a fight for his life or lives? There would be no underestimating this floor.
[You Have Reached Level 74! +150 to All Stats! +70 Stat Points]
A level up, with all of the things he has been killing on his way here Cole was only able to get a level. But then again when you think about he hasn't really been in a lot of fights. So far just the octopus, the Mer-King and the three other gold rank beasts along with his stint on the Naughty Nurse had only been enough to get him a single level.
It might seem like slow progress, but Cole understood that he was luckier than most. The level did not matter, it was the stats that did. Milestones seem to be important to the system, and not just that with level 100 rapidly approaching Cole wanted to make sure he was ready, and by that he meant he wanted to reach level 100 as a diamond ranker.
He did not know what that would mean for his power, but for now it meant trying to harvest a shit ton of stats, as he race, class and levels were no longer giving him what he needs to advance. So he would be eating a lot of sins and would be using every unnamed prism in his inventory to get the stats he needs. Time to check the stats!
