Chapter 329 329: Extraction II

?

Cole gave Garudon an impassive look, there was still a feeling of suppression on him from the dragon, but it was weaker than the first time they met, a lot more weaker. Even then Cole had not been afraid of the dragon, but now, there was almost no reaction from him as he faced the dragon.

Garudon was dragging a sheathed but ornate looking gold and red sword. The dragon slowly pulled it out and took a stance, whilst looking at Cole. Cole chuckled, he had thought the dragon was just a prideful  and unreasonable supernatural creature driven solely by his greed. But a sword stance, one that was looking eerily familiar as he held his scabbard in a reverse grip and the sword drawn back, hilt to the chest and blade pointed outwards.

"Is that [Black Demons Swordsmanship]?" Cole asked out loud in real shock as Peronico shouted art him, clasping hands with two of his wives and completing a massive net like circle of Gnomes.

"Garudon has a skill that lets him copy the martial arts and skill of any opponent and their weapons. It even includes experiences and the skill level his opponents have with the skill. You will be essentially fighting yourself. And that sword is forged from the fangs of Garudon's own father, an Elder Wyrm of the diamond rank level. That blade can cut through anything and is unbreakable by anything in the universe, even the force of power from ranks higher than diamond. You have to be careful boy!"

"Sure, thanks for the heads up, now get out of here!" Cole said to him as shadows quickly spread out from under the Gnomes and swallowed them up. Garudon looked at the shadow and was able to t race it back to Cole, noticing that it was Cole's shadow that had swallowed them up.

"How dare You!" Garudon yelled at Cole,  but still he did not make any move to attack. The dragon was worried about something, maybe it was the fact that Cole had stolen Peronico away right from under his nose. But whatever it was, it was in Cole's best interest to utilize it.

He had grown too fast, in fact that was the main problem Cole had with his power. Every new level in strength would mean that he had to get used to the new limits and scope of his abilities. He had to push and pull, prod, contract and expand his skills in dozens of different ways to use just what were their new limits.

At times like this he could grossly overestimate his strength and bite off more than he could chew, so it was better to take it easy, and adapt to the situation. Frankly speaking Cole was tired of getting hit and injured and pulled back together from the brink of nothingness. His healing factor was making him reckless, and it hurts, it was taking a toll on his mind.

Cole decided to attack first,  rushing forwards with Black Malakai in his hands. He released an upwards Slash that Garudon blocked with the Scabbard, as he sent his blade flying straight for the spot between Cole's eyes. This was the exact absorb and counter style of the [Black Demon Swordsmanship]. a secondary weapon to parry, deflect and block attacks so that the primary weapon would take the strike, usually moving at the exact same time as the opponents own attack.

But there was something off with the way the Dragon was using it. There always was a liquid like movement with [Black Demon Swordsmanship]. and it was weird because most of the time Cole was stationary when receiving attacks, moving through different stances to defend and attack. The dragon was too stiff, even with a Dragon's adaptability it could not truly capture the essence.

Garudon might be in the Gold rank, but so was Black Malakai. And so was the skill. In a manner of speaking it meant that the skill would be hard even for a dragon to learn as they were technically in the same rank. Plus one other interesting fact to know is…..[Black Malakai] is a demon's sword, not just a demon sword. Between Cole and His Black Blade…. they were made for each other.

[Methuselah] made an appearance, Cole shrinking its shaft into the standard size of a short spear. Defending against Garudon's strike, borrowing the force to put a little distance between themselves.  He held the spear in a reversed grip and lowered his center of gravity as he spread his legs apart. His blade in its glossy new form pointed directly at Garudon as the dragon looked on with annoyance. The hilt pointed to his chest as Cole spoke the words written on the Blade and using the demon tongue to do so.

"uruk' naski'  darlan' gerot' shrika' Nujro' Damein! Malakai!"

"To The World That Lives I Am Malakai!"

Energy pooled around Cole's legs as wisps of wind, vibrations, gravity and an intense amount of Chaos energy all gathered and exploded outwards, propelling Cole towards Garudon past the speed of sound as in this limited space he broke the sound barrier three times in the move between the 10 foot distance between him and Garudon.

The result…..was catastrophic. The entire workshop exploded out wards into the rest of the facility as Garudon used the flat of his Sword to defend against Cole's attack. He even did it with what was most definitely a derisive look on his face…..the Dragon payed for his arrogance.

His own sword blasted back into his face, cleaving a part of his face off as he was pushed backwards, his footsteps echoing into the debris of the workshop, as he huffed, with a deep breath….fury in his words. Blood dropped to the ground in soft rivulets…..dragon blood.

"You have caused me to wound myself for my arrogance in underestimating you. Very well then Mr. Cole. Since you have now proven to be  a serious threat, I will now take you seriously.' Garudon said as he took a couple of step backwards and pointed his sword at Cole.

The sword caught ablaze as the temperature within the workshop began to rise. Cole's only response to that was.

[Wrath Demon Drive]
