Chapter 497 497: Anger Issues
Azrael was enamored. It was strange seeing his own wrath being physically manifested, Cole was decked out in a new armor, or rather the old one had transformed from the black and blue to a blood red with black strips armor. Spikes jutted out of his joints and his helm had spiked ridges around the crown of his head, to make it look like a crown.
"Azrael…..buddy you need a therapist, what do you expect me to do with, This! Much! Anger!"
The next few seconds were pretty much a blur of motions for Azrael, as Cole crossed the distance quickly to smash a fist into the side of Azrael's face. Azrael felt the impact, he felt the compression of his skull, as he realized Cole had gained a power boost from his own anger and paired that with his kinetic stat to move fast enough to break the sound barrier multiple times in such a small distance, just under six meters had separated the both of them.
Cole had then transferred all that force into the strike. There was no technique here, just the power of his physique and stat. And Azrael's proud defense had not been able to withstand the power. It was death or would be death for him, he fell into the darkness just as his body did, vanishing from Cole's grasp, who continued on with his punch, releasing a massive blast from his feet that blasted more than two blocks of the suburban houses to smithereens and damaging a third.
Azrael was gone, escaped once again by the skin of his teeth. But that was okay, Cole would hunt him out, he could still smell him, or rather smell the lingering scent of his wrath, and following quickly was the bittersweet tang of hatred, nestled with citrus scent of fear! Cole chuckled, he had gotten into Azrael's head.
On the plus side discovering new things he could now do as a Raen. Now he really was eating sin, using them as a powerful boost. And much more than that, he could differentiate the scent of emotions more clearly, not just smell them, now he could also see them, and what a lovely trail Azrael left behind.
Using what was left of the boost, Cole funneled energy to Lyren, healing the pup from the damage Azrael had caused it. His armor reappear over his body as his monstrous wrath form faded away with the end of the boost. His senses dulled a lot, but Cole was still able to follow the lingering traces of emotion Azrael left behind.
Cole took off running, using [Gravity Rings] under his shoes to give him control as the kinetic stat began to build up speed. He chased building up power as he moved over buildings, some he had to move through, showing amazing Dexterity as he literally parkour at super speed. Cole kept on chasing after Azrael, right now was when he was at his weakest, and so was Cole, he might seem fine but at that pummeling took a toll, even if not physically but mentally….right now he was in need of some serious time out.
But he could not lift his foot off the gas, not when he was this close to bringing this damn assassin down. What they've put each other through, was already reaching the limits of what either men could take, and Cole could invariably say that his mind has been pretty fucked up by all their confrontation.
He eventually got tired of moving past some houses or over them or moving in them and just went to smashing his way through, building up more speed and cone of sharp wind and debris that cut anything caught in to pieces, which was also why Cole had a trail of blood following after him. Zombies that had been caught in his path were all fed into like meat in a grinder.
He was following. The trail with a maddened look on his face.. without a doubt this was due to the seed of fear that had also been planted in Cole's heart. At the end of the day no one wants to die, so if he doesn't kill Azrael then Azrael will kill him, and Cole had to do it now because Azrael did not seem like the type to give up easily.
Cole blasted out of the suburban area, coming up into a great hole in the middle of the colony, or rather it would be easier to say that it was a massive chasm that opened up into space. At the side was the terminal for the star rail that seemed to lead up and out of the Colony itself. Cole could see that the star rail had not arrived yet and Azrael's scent was hovering around without Cole being able to pinpoint him, hut he was close and Cole had been building power just for this moment as he leapt into the sky, funneling all of the Kinetic energy he had built into the gravity rings under his feet.
He came crashing down, smashing his fist and feet into the ground, and he released all that energy in one massive shockwave that blasted out in a circle. The glass entrance to the terminal along with a couple of supports were blasted apart and ripped to shreds, as the shockwave traveled backwards to destroy even more of the suburban area that Cole had just passed.
*Toooooooo!*
There was loud but still soft whistle sound heard as Cole looked up to see a train and it's coaches crawling out of a hole in reality. And heading for the terminal, and at the speed it was moving, it was obvious to Cole that it would not be stopping, it would slow down a bit and move besides the terminal, Cole could already see it's doors opening up.
Azrael's lingering scent grew stronger as he appeared out of the air, his body spinning as he slashed his knife. Cole met the attack with Black Malakai, swinging it with all his strength, and adding [Gravity Wings] on both sides of the blade to give it more power as he shifted its form into a massive bastard sword.
The force tore through the shadow Clone as Cole saw Azrael slip into the terminal. His intentions to slow Cole down, long enough for him to get on the train and get out of here, effectively leaving Cole trapped here. At least until the train comes back, but by then Azrael would be long gone, and if the train did indeed lead to a second level then Azrael would have had enough time to set some traps for Cole. And then this game would continue and never end, Cole was already sick of it.
*BOOM!*
Cole broke the sound barrier and the entrance of the terminal. It was just one straight path to the trains with a small barrier to purchase tickets. Azrael was already half way down, the monstrous combined zombies with three heads and three pairs of every other limbs letting him pass by. And then finally another giant space octopus.
"Fuck me!"
