The atmosphere instantly grew solemn.
Melanie smiled suddenly and pointed outside.
"Let's have a chat.I'll treat you all to some smoothies."
Jenny looked at Stephanie, who was equally dumbfounded.However, she did not feel opposed to it.
"Alright."
Melanie paid for the dress she had tried on, and they walked into the smoothies shop downstairs.
Jenny couldn't remember the last time she had a smoothie.
Most of the time, she had coffee instead because she felt smoothies were too sweet for her liking.
They ordered some smoothies.It was then that Melanie picked up where they left off.
"Although I know he still likes you, I don't mind.I think it just means that he has depth.Someone like that is worthy of my affection."

Stephanie felt her chest bloom when she looked at her.She remembered how proud she was to be with Paul before.

"I investigated it but couldn't find out why."
It had taken her quite a while to find out about Paul's and Stephanie's relationship.She had no means to find out why they'd broken up.
"It was because Paul did not want to make their relationship public and said he wouldn't marry her.Would you be able to accept that?"
Jenny scoffed.She was still angry about it.
What did Paul take Stephanie as? Did he think he was invincible? Melanie would never in a million years guess that it was because of that.
It took her a while to snap back to reality.

"He looks to be in love now because Stephanie left him so determinedly.If she had stayed by his side, he wouldn't have cherished her," Jenny said confidently.
Melanie was silent.
Stephanie couldn't bear to see her like that and said, He's not that bad.It's just that we weren't meant to be.Our families and other aspects of our lives didn't match.But you're different.You two are meant for each other."
At once, Melanie's eyes lit up.
"Really? You think we're meant to be?"
"Yeah."
Stephanie nodded.
Melanie smiled happily.
