Jenny looked at Alec, who was driving the car.
"Aren't you going to the company?"
"I am."
He'd just arrived, and a mountain of work was waiting for him in the office.

"Probably not.She'd tell me if they were."
She and Stephanie had contacted each other these few days, and Stephanie hadn't told her anything about Leonard at all.

Jenny glanced at him and asked, "You don't think Paul still has a chance, do you?"
"As long as she's not with other men, of course he does."

Jenny didn't think there was anything wrong with Gilbert not liking Marigold, but she thought that Paul was an ass for not liking Melanie.

Paul wasn't her friend.

Jenny came back to her senses and glared at her.
"What are you doing?"
"The honeymoon phase is really something.You two are such a couple of lovebirds," Stephanie teased.
