Chapter 871 He’s Been Murdered

Luke watched him jump. For a moment, he couldn’t quite believe it. Was Alec submitting so easily without a struggle?

He didn’t think there would be a river waiting for him to swim in, did he?

“Idiot!” Luke thought. Then, he said to someone, “Look around below. You must see his corpse with your own eyes.”

“Yes, sir!” His bodyguard nodded.

Just before Luke was about to call Xavier, his phone rang. It was his father’s secretary. He thought that he was calling to track his progress. Before the secretary could speak, he said, “Tell my father the plan worked. Alec is dead.” novelbin

“Xavier… something’s happened to him.” The secretary was panicking on the other end, his voice trembling.

Luke’s eyebrows raised. An unsettling feeling washed over him. “What happened?” What could ever happen to his father?

“Xavier… he’s been murdered!” the secretary said, his voice full of terror.

Luke’s phone clattered to the ground. For a moment there, he forgot to ask how it happened.

News of the Fausts spread through the city quickly. Alec had fallen down a cliff, and Xavier was shot in his villa and was pronounced dead. Either story was a terrifying case, and they had both happened at the same time.

When Jenny saw the news, she had just finished performing surgery. She grew weak in the knees.

Fallen down a cliff?

Jenny did not believe this. After what had happened the last time, Alec would turn away at the mere sight of a cliff. What was he doing there?

At that thought, she called Melissa to ask her to investigate the matter. Melissa was already succeeding at managing the bar. The intel gathered was growing. Jenny trusted her. However, she was so anxious that she drove toward Faust Manor. She had to know what it all was.

But when she arrived, she realized a herd of reporters surrounded the place. Several bodyguards were standing at the gates. No one could go in.

Jenny’s heart was beating hard. Thankfully, Melissa called. Although she had not yet made sense of what had happened, she had found out the place where Alec had fallen. Jenny wasted no time rushing over.

When she knew that it had happened at a turf club newly opened by Luke, Jenny could guess what had happened. She couldn’t help feeling angry. Alec had not taken his safety into account at all.

Luke definitely did not have good intentions of inviting him over. Why did he go? Jenny rushed over to the club with those thoughts in mind. She could not calm herself down at all. It was now that she realized how much she cared for Alec.

But what a pity it was that she only figured it out now. It seemed too late. All she could do now was pray that nothing had happened to Alec.

When she got to the club, it was fenced up by the security guards. No one could go in.

They said that they were still looking for him and that things were still chaotic.

Jenny didn’t believe a word they said. These were Luke’s henchmen. Even if they did find Alec, Luke would not let him go.

When they weren’t paying attention, she snuck into the club and ran toward the cliff.

There were plenty of people still searching. When Jenny wondered if Luke had a heart after all, she heard the security guards murmuring, “Where did he go? He can’t be alive, falling from such a high place.” “Stop chatting. Find him! If he runs, the boss will have our heads!” They began searching more fervently, failing to notice Jenny not far off.
