Chapter 211 - A casual compliment card

Chapter 211: A casual compliment card

Shen Jing Yi was reminded that she had to be careful of Tan Mo.

She just wasn’t sure why and when Tan Mo had started harboring bad feelings towards her. It’s not like they interacted that much. They barely ever had the chance to.

Shen Jing Yi thought about it and racked her brains. Could it be that time when Professor Tang had brought Tan Mo to the research lab at the end of the first semester? Shen Jing Yi had brought up some concerns she had about Tan Mo entering the lab.

What if Tan Mo had heard her back then? Could that be why Tan Mo resented her?

If that’s the case, then Tan Mo was definitely too small minded. She was going to hate her just because of a few careless sentences?

“I never had the intention to ruin your things. You’re the scriptwriter now, what can I do to you?” Shen Jing Yi thought to herself silently.

Unless Tan Mo had managed to guess her true intentions?

No way!

How could Tan Mo guess?

She’s so stupid!

Tan Mo didn’t catch on after Shen Jing Yi’s words. “Then what are you doing here?” She smiled.

“I wanted to ask you if you had your laptop with you?” Shen Jing Yi acted as if nothing bad had happened and smiled genuinely. “I heard that you came with your brother for fun. I was thinking that if that was the case, maybe you hadn’t brought your computer.”

“That’s true. I don’t have it with me.” Tan Mo nodded.

“This…” Shen Jing Yi frowned lightly. “Tan Mo, you know how tight time is right now. Director Liu entrusted you with such a task only because he finds you reliable and trustworthy. But if you don’t have your laptop then how can you finish writing by tomorrow?”

“Senior Shen, what are you thinking?” Tan Mo stupidly looked at Shen Jing Yi. “Although I don’t have a computer with me, I did bring along my iPad. It’s good enough for me and it won’t delay my writing at all.

“And even if I don’t have my iPad with me, my brother has his laptop. I’m sure Director Liu has one too. Since my brother’s the assistant director, I briefly know what they do on the daily. Since they always need to save data and information, they always have their computer with them.” Tan Mo spoke calmly and steadily. “Also, even if those two didn’t bring it, scriptwriter Yuan must’ve brought hers.”

As scriptwriter, how could she not?

“The situation is urgent now. If I just asked, I think even scriptwriter Yuan would lend her computer to me.” It didn’t matter if she did so voluntarily or not.

“So Senior Shen, there’s nothing for you to worry about,” Tan Mo smiled again as she said so.

Shen Jing Yi smiled back. “Then it seems like I’ve overthought the situation. You’ve really thought this through, haven’t you? Seems like I’m just being nosy.”

Tan Mo tilted her head. Shen Jing Yi’s aura ran deep into her bones, she was different from Qin Mu Rong.

Qin Mu Rong doesn’t bother putting up an act when other people weren’t around to observe.

But Shen Jing Yi did. Even when no one was around, and it was just the two of them, she still put up that aura of hers.

Even now, only Yuan Ke Qing and Xu Ming Jing could compare.

“No not really, it’s just that you came all this way to remind me. You’re really a good person,” Tan Mo casually complimented her, not like it cost her anything.

Now Shen Jing Yi was really muddled up about Tan Mo’s situation.

She thought there was some sort of rivalry between them, yet now she had just handed her a compliment card.

Shen Jing Yi thought about their interests and laughed. “I won’t be bothering you then. Go write, but also make sure you take care of yourself and rest.”

Tan Mo put on a well behaved look and agreed. She watched as Shen Jing Yi left and closed the door immediately and locked it behind her.

Shen Jing Yi stopped in her tracks not far from the door and heard the lock on Tan Mo’s door.

Only then did she walk back to her room, deep in thought.

*

Tan Mo had already taken a look at Yuan Qi Shan’s initial script earlier that day, and she already knew where the script wanted to go.

She researched on the format of the script, and collated a full set of the television series she had watched in the last few years. Also, a thousand years of accumulated memories from the previous generations.

Back then, her masters had also given her drama books.

After all, they had too much time back then. They had to find some way to pass the time.

She would read a bit very now and then.

Although there were some differences between the ancient and modern books, there were still some overlaps in between that could be partially used.

Even though she hadn’t ever written an actual script herself, her brain was full of rich knowledge that was accumulated from thousands of years of cultural experience and information.

Even the top scriptwriters of this day and age may have read as much as Tan Mo had.

Tan Mo wrote as she recollected her memories of what she had learned before.

She knew all the history that was written in the books and archives, and even parts of history that weren’t recorded.

Even when some parts of her knowledge differed from the sections within History archives, she knew that she was right.

Despite not having to write about these in the first episode, Tan Mo had already decided that she would be writing based off her own knowledge.

She had already finished the first episode after pulling an all-nighter.

After she had finished, it was already almost four in the morning.

The days were shorter and the nights longer, and although it was early in the morning, the sun was still not out yet.

Tan Mo yawned a few times and saved her document, hoping that she could catch a few hours of sleep.

Half past seven hit and Tan Mo’s alarm went off.

At least she managed to catch three and a half hours of sleep.

But she only managed about an hour of deep slumber.

Right as she had entered deep sleep, her alarm had gone off.

That was the worst feeling in the world.

Tan Mo’s brain was still fuzzy; it was like a pile of mush.

She shook her head but the mush still seemed like it wasn’t going away.

Tan Mo felt like as if she was back in her drunken state.

Her reactions that day were sluggish and slow.

Today seemed to be even worse.

She couldn’t even remember what happened.

She sat on top of her bed as her eyes glazed over nothing for a solid moment.

She then turned her head around to look outside the window.

It was still pitch back.

Only then did Tan Mo get out of bed.

She put on her slippers and got into the bathroom in a haze, and casually took out a small bottle from her bathroom amenities bag.

She hadn’t even properly read the description of the bottle and just quickly skimmed it over. It was a cream texture, so she applied it onto her face.

As for which moisturizer to apply, she had already forgotten.

Her current state was to apply the first cream she put her hands on. She wasn’t planning on using anything else now.

After applying the cream, she went back to her room and changed into fresh set of clothes.

She was now fully away, and not as sluggish and slow as she was before.

Before leaving her room, she went back into the toilet to wash her hands.

It’s been a long term habit for her at this point.

When she was drying her hands, she noticed that she had left out the bottle of cream that she was just using. So she decided to put it back.

Only then did she realize that she had stupidly taken out her eye cream instead of a face cream.

Tan Mo couldn’t say anything. Did she use an eye cream for her face?

How luxurious.

Oh well, she didn’t have time to pay attention to these matters.

Tan Mo put the cream back in the bag and carried her bag as she left the room.

While waiting for the lift, she picked up a call from Tan Jin Qi.

“Mo Mo, are you up yet?” he asked.

“Yup. I’m about to head to the dining hall for breakfast.” said Tan Mo as she stifled a little yawn.
