Chapter 462: No Thoughts

Ling Sheng took the bags out of the trunk one by one. When she turned around, she saw that her father had taken a few bags. Behind him was Xiaoqi, who had also taken a few small bags. They were quite happy as they followed him into the elevator.

Huo Ci glared at her ferociously. “Why are you in a daze? Come in quickly. Do you want me to press the elevator button for you?”

Ling Sheng pouted and let out a snort. Couldn’t they talk nicely? It was like they were quarreling every single time. Was he showing off that he was a loud man?

After two weeks, Ling Sheng finally stepped into the house again. When she saw everything that was familiar to her, her nose felt a little sore. She had thought that her father would throw their things out in a fit of anger!

Everything had remained the same. Nothing had moved at all. It was exactly the same as before they had moved out. The vegetable garden on the balcony was not as dry and withered as she had imagined. He had taken good care of it.

Xiaoqi ran around excitedly. He was having fun in the place he was most familiar with. He ran to the balcony to water the vegetable garden and then went to the bedroom and living room, moving as though he had endless energy.

“Grandpa, can I bring my moon lamp over?” Xiaoqi was rushing around in his bedroom as he pointed at the bed. “It can hang there.”

“You’d like that?” Huo Ci looked at him and said, “Go close the door.”

Xiaoqi, who did not know what his grandpa wanted to do, closed the door obediently.

Huo Ci said, “Turn off the lights too.”

Xiaoqi tiptoed over and switched off the lights. Then, he saw a crescent on the roof and many small stars beside it. His eyes lit up. “Grandpa, Grandpa, are you performing magic? It’s so pretty!”

Huo Ci nodded arrogantly. He was really happy. He had just casually made this. He had not spent any effort on it. “Don’t ask me for anything else for Christmas.”

“Grandpa, thank you.” Xiaoqi ran over to hug his thigh and rubbed against it. He was a tender, sweet child. “Xiaoqi likes Grandpa the most.”

Huo Ci let out a low cough and lowered his eyes to look at the child. His lips curled up slightly, and his tone was full of joy. “You bootlicker.”

Ling Sheng, who did not know why the duo had closed the door, knocked. “Xiaoqi, Father, are the two of you asleep?”

When they were at the new house, every time her father went over to eat, drink, and sleep for free, he would share a room with Xiaoqi. The duo would sleep on the floor, and he would not sleep in the room Grandma had prepared for him. The duo was as good as one person.

Xiaoqi shushed him and shot a look at his grandfather. He did not want his mother to see it now. When his mother came to read him a bedtime story and kiss him goodnight, she would definitely be very happy when he switched off the lights and she saw the starry sky.

After Ling Sheng kissed him goodnight, she switched off the lights and walked out of the bedroom.

Xiaoqi was waiting for her to notice the starry sky to surprise her, but he did not hear his mother speak. When he heard the door close, he sat up hurriedly. “Mommy.”

Ling Sheng stopped in her tracks and turned around. “Can’t sleep? Do you want to sleep with Mommy?”

Then, she realized that the house seemed different. When she looked up, she saw the starry sky above her. It was a vast universe with stars shining brightly. Her eyes lit up. She finally knew why her son was so excited.

“Mommy, does it look nice?” Xiaoqi asked excitedly.

Ling Sheng nodded, feeling a little touched. “Yes.”

The night sky, which had been made using unknown principles, was moving slowly as time passed. It was much more luxurious than the star and moon decorations that she had bought for Xiaoqi.
