Fang Liguo’s impatience was evident in his tone as he interjected, “That’s enough. Let’s not waste any more time. We should go inside and see Mom.” Song Ling pondered aloud, “I wonder when Mom will awaken. I’ve already prepared my will. Once Mom signs it, bequeathing all her assets to Jiayi, I’ll finally feel at ease.”
“Lower your voice!” Fang Liguo sharply whispered, casting an annoyed look at her. “Do you want the entire world to hear you?”
Startled, Song Ling hurriedly covered her mouth and discreetly shut the door.
Turning towards Chen Yang behind her, Fang Yuan spoke, “I have a few matters to attend to. Carry out your tasks.”
Chen Yang inquired, “What about the report from Madame Old Fang?”
Fang Yuan replied, “Unless there’s something extraordinary, you can handle it yourself.”
“Understood.” Chen Yang then noticed a man not far away. This man possessed a commanding stature and impeccably groomed short hair. An aura of aristocracy emanated from him. Was he Bo Yi? Since Fang Yuan had rescued Old Master Bo, they seemed to have formed a close bond.
Bo Yi also noticed Chen Yang’s presence. A cursory glance landed on him before settling on Fang Yuan. The newcomer appeared nonchalant about Chen Yang’s presence, as he inquired softly, “Have you encountered any difficulties?”
Fang Yuan responded, “Not at all.”
Bo Yi insisted, “If you encounter any challenges, don’t hesitate to inform me.
I’ll take care of it.”
Observing Bo Yi’s earnest expression, Fang Yuan casually remarked, “No need. i dealt with a couple of aggressive dogs. Now, I’ll head inside to see Grandpa.” “Very well.” Bo Yi’s eyes trailed Fang Yuan as she entered the hospital room. Then, he turned his attention to Chen Yang.
Uncertain whether to greet him, Chen Yang found himself at a loss. Even Grandpa seemed to hold this man in high regard…
Before he could decide, Bo Yi had already redirected his gaze and followed Fang Yuan into the hospital room.
“Yuanyuan, have you encountered any difficulties?” Old Master Bo inquired with concern as he laid eyes on his granddaughter-in-law.
Fang Yuan assured him, “No issues.”
Old Master Bo emphasized, “If anything arises, inform Bo Yi. He’ll handle it. And if he doesn’t manage it satisfactorily, come to me. 1’11 support you.”
Upon hearing this, Fang Yuan’s eyes flickered. “Understood.”
Reluctant to part, Old Master Bo continued, “Yuanyuan, don’t forget your promise to me. When I’m discharged the day after tomorrow, make sure you’re here to pick me up!”
Fang Yuan offered a gentle smile. “I won’t forget. 1’11 be there.”
Once outside the hospital, Fang Yuan inquired about Granny Bo’s condition.
“She’s suffering from a brain injury,” Bo Yi explained gravely. “Apart from autonomous breathing and blinking, she exhibits symptoms consistent with a vegetative state.”
With understanding dawning, Fang Yuan recollected a past case she had handled. A patient had faced a similar belief that their brain injury had left them in a vegetative state. Though the patient ultimately recovered, the journey had been challenging. Certain medications, rare and obtainable only from the Golden Triangle, had proven particularly troublesome to procure. “Dinner together?” Bo Yi suggested.
Checking the time, Fang Yuan contemplated explaining her prior commitment to her parents at home. However, Bo Yi swiftly dialed a number on his phone and spoke, “Uncle, it’s me. Yuanyuan and 1 have plans to dine out tonight.” “Don’t worry. I’ll take good care of her.”
Fang Yuan.”.. ”
Had she just been agreed upon?
“What kind of cuisine are you in the mood for?” Bo Yi swung the car door open and waited for her to step inside.
Fang Yuan.
Bo Yi probed further, “How about Western or Chinese food?”
Fang Yuan.
“Perhaps Korean or Japanese cuisine?” Bo Yi continued.
Fang Yuan.”…”
Bo Yi offered another option, “Or any other type of cuisine?”
Resigned, Fang Yuan relented as she settled into the car. “Whatever.”
As Bo Yi took his place in the car, he noticed Fang Yuan’s intention to remove her necklace. Swiftly, he reached out and captured her hand, preventing her from doing so.
Caught off guard by the sudden warmth enveloping her hand, Fang Yuan looked to Bo Yi with surprise. She voiced her concern, “I really shouldn’t accept this.”
Bo Yi responded sincerely, his gaze locked onto hers. “No one deserves to wear it more than you. I understand you might not be thinking about marriage at this point in your life, and that’s perfectly fine. There’s no rush.”
Fang Yuan felt conflicted. The necklace was undeniably valuable and conspicuous. Plus, anyone who recognized it would understand its significance. Only the Bo family’s granddaughter-in-law could wear such an emblem.
Observing her attempt to remove the necklace, Bo Yi played his next move. “Grandpa’s health is fragile. Wearing it, at least until he leaves the hospital, would mean a lot to him.”
Caught in a dilemma, Fang Yuan found herself speechless. She cautiously withdrew her hand, but Bo Yi intercepted the movement.
He clung to her hand earnestly, his grip gentle yet unyielding. Her hand, delicate and soft, seemed to hold an unexpected charm that he wasn’t willing to relinquish.
Fang Yuan attempted to reclaim her hand, saying, “Let it go.”
But Bo Yi’s grasp remained steadfast. Gazing ahead, he requested calmly, “Just let me hold your hand for a little while.”
Fang Yuan:”…” Are you polite? Wanting everything?
“Are you familiar with Chen Yang?” Bo Yi suddenly asked.
Fang Yuan.”….”
Mu Qing, who was driving in front, did not expect Master Bo and Miss Fang Yuan to progress so quickly. He was so excited that his hands were shaking on the steering wheel! The road tonight could be peaceful.. Otherwise, how great would it be if it were to jolt Miss Fang Yuan into Master Bo’s arms like last time!
