Twin Soul

Book 2

Book 2: Chapter 2 (4/7)

Gwenn turned to look at Lord Oleos Fosnes of the Purple, Lord Gerda Mork of the Blue, Lord Dasha Vaelbe of the White, Lord Larissa Krasnaia of the Black, and Lord Bohdan Brish of the Green to see if any of them want to say anything about the relationship between Lord Clerico and her. But it seems like none of them dare to anger Noe Clerico.

Gwenn then turned her eyes toward Bohdan and asked, “Lord Brish, would you and your members dive throughout the areas where the merchants said they saw the suspicious five ships?”

“Yes, Holy Mage.” Bohdan quickly gave his answer.

“Does any Lord have an idea of who may have done it?”

Dasha said, “It could be the Rogue Mages. There could be multiple levels 100 Rogue Saint Mages teamed up to ambush Vonda.”

“That could be. But Executioner Markus Berethryl and Sir Benes Raulnor were on board with Lord Hardy. They should have no problem escorting her safely toward the Kingdom of Winhardia while the level 100 Rogue Saint Mages fought with two thousand magic casters and ten thousand strong warriors.”

Lord Larissa said, “Our Executioners have been actively hunting Rogue Mages, so no surprise when they want to ambush one of our Lords. However, how would they know when Vonda left the Bifjorkian Theocracy to set up an ambush and wait for her?”

Other Lords were thinking about it while Noe burst out laughing again. Noe said, “I told yall before but yall were too stupid to believe me. I’m sure it’s the Blood Mages. They could have built a network or an organization that spies on us throughout Toria Continents.”

“Noe, this is not the time for conspiracy theories. We have killed almost all the Twin Soul children when they turned three, remember?” Kath asked.

“You said almost, that’s meant we didn’t kill all of them, yeah?”

“Yes, but-”

“If you look at the data and calculate it correctly. There have been more than a thousand Twin Soul children saved over the past two thousand years. Where have those Twin Soul children gone? Yeah, our Executioners killed some Blood Mages here and there, but nowhere near enough. Five years ago, in Flumen city, two Blood Mages rescued a Twin Soul girl. Do you remember that?”

“Yes…”

“Two Blood Mages teamed up to rescue another Twin Soul girl. Don’t tell me it was just a coincidence. From the report I have read, one of them was a Master-tier Blood Mage.”

“It’s nearly impossible for a Blood Mage to advance into Saint-tier. And no Legend-tier Blood Mage would be strong enough to defeat Lord Hardy. Am I right?”

“Nearly impossible doesn’t mean it is impossible, yeah? Do you remember what happened when a Saint Blood Mage went rogue sixteen calendars ago? Ninety percent of the population in this realm were wiped out by an insane Saint-tier Blood magic spell for her to continuously collect nearly unlimited blood. Over eighteen hundred Saint-tier Mages have to sacrifice their lives to defeat her. And that was because we still had almost two hundred Saint-tier Mages left to surround her or she would have escaped and continuously to refill her Blood Equipment. If a Blood Mage made it to Saint-tier, even just level 51, he or she would have easily defeated Vonda Hardy, correct?”

“I am too young and didn’t have much experience in dealing with the Blood Mage. Lord Clerico, if the Blood Mages work together to create an association, what shall we do?” Gwenn asked.

Noe smirked as he said, “Gwenn, all we have to do is exterminate them all from this world we like we have done before but this time will on a different level.”

“What kind of different level are you mentioning? Would you please explain it better?”

“Instead of only testing children when they turned three years old for the Twin Soul, why don’t we do it to adult magic casters as well? This will let us know if any Blood Mage has infiltrated our Mages Council.” josei

“The examination crystal ball would explode as soon as it is held by a magic caster. Three years old children don’t have mana yet that is how we can check for their Elemental Soul without breaking the crystal.”

“That is the problem that we needed to find a way to correct. We have to create a type of examination crystal that is strong enough to test on even Saint-tier magic casters without exploding. If the crystal explodes on anyone’s hand which means that person possesses a Twin Soul.”

“How are we going to create such examination crystals?”

“Yeah... that is gonna be your problem. I have pointed out the issue for you. You just have to figure out how to fix it.” Noe shrugged his shoulders as he said this.

Wrenn Fasketel was fed up with Gween and Noe continued to communicate with each other like no one else was there. He asked, “Holy Mage, the Red will need to have a temporary Lord until we find Lord Hardy. I wonder who do you have in mind?”

Noe laughed again, “Haha… Who else can be more qualified than you? Am I correct, Wrenn?” He asked in a mocking tone.

Wrenn had shown that he is eager to be the next Lord. To be fair, he is more than qualified. There was a little bias when the last Lord of Red appointed Vonda Hardy instead of Wrenn Fasketel. Vonda was very talented in creating new unique spells, but she was too young and her level was too far behind compared to Wrenn.

Wrenn explained in a humble tone, “Lord Clerico, I was just asking for a temporary Lord to guide our members of the Red through this dark time. Am I wrong for requesting it?”

Noe said, “No, you aren't wrong. I supported you to be the temporary Lord, you dare to disagree?”

Wrenn didn’t know whether Noe was being honest or not. That was why he decided to remain silent.

“Wrenn Fasketel, I hereby appointed you to be the temporary Lord of the Red. Do you agree to take on this responsibility?” Gwenn asked.

“I… I humbly accepted, dear Holy Mage.”

“Great! Is there any Lord who wanted to oppose my decision in choosing Wrenn Fasketel as the temporary Lord of the Red?”

“As I have said, I supported him. Anyone dare to oppose?” Noe winked at Gwenn as he answered her.

Kath shook her head while smiling to show she had no objection. Other Lords show no objection as well but it was unclear if they were afraid of Noe or because they believed Wrenn deserved to be appointed as the temporary Lord.
