Twin Soul

Book 3

Book 3: Chapter 2 (2/7)

“Uncle Kain! Uncle Kain!” Not just one voice, but two female voices called Kain’s name out loud.

Kain turned around and saw it was Ariana Bellet and Emelia Kincade. Emelia seems not to show any sign of hostile manner against Kain anymore which meant she acknowledged he was the real Kain Bersk who saved her in Flumen city. If it wasn’t for Kain that day, Emelia and Nanya Dawnfowl would have never escaped from that city alive. Nanya wasn’t talented and must have died of old age already while Emelia was still alive which meant she had advanced into Legend-tier just like Ariana. Kain felt bad that these girls have to live under the Demi-Humans’ rules because of a spineless Guildmaster and a bunch of pussies Masters that work for him.

Kain smiled and said, “There is nothing for you to worry about. Just stand there and watch.”

Inside Kain’s head, he could hear Watcher Tykan praising him, “Kain, you have done a great job of standing up to Etgar Revenmar. Let them know how strong you actually are instead of hiding your true power and waste time trying to find the right opportunity. Make a name for yourself, and you will soon dominate this world.”

Kain already got tired of listening to Watcher Tykan’s voice, but both of his Souls were being kept by Tykan so Kain decided not to disrespect him that much. Kain said, “Watcher Tykan, I thought you said that you will only control my body when I absolutely need your help. I didn't appreciate you used my body back then to killed hundreds of Demi-Humans.” josei

“I kept my word. I didn’t control your body now, did I? I was just giving you friendly advice.”

“I… thank you.” Kain decided to continue to play nice with Tykan.

Frustrated and angry against Tykan, Kain expressed his anger against the Demi-Humans. He shouted, “Stupid Beastmans! Attack me with everything you have! I will give you ten minutes!”

“Stop!” A female voice shouted. This time, that female voice came from the Demi-Humans’ side.

“A human?” Kain asked himself as he looked toward that voice and saw a young girl who appeared to be around twenty-eight years old was being heavily guarded by Demi-Human Warriors who wore full steel plate armors.

“No, she is a Demi-Human as well,” Kain told himself as he quickly noticed her dragon ears and a pair of dragon wings on her back. “Hmm, it seems like the Demi-Humans listened to that girl and didn’t attack me yet.”

The girl coolly walked toward Kain while still being heavily guarded by her warriors. Stood in front of Kain, the girl introduced herself, “My name is Princess Zemelda Edhilda Acilianus. Slave, what is your name?”

Kain smirked and said, “I am not a slave, but a Blood Mage. As I have said before, my name is Kain Bersk.”

“Kain Bersk. Why don’t you have blonde hair like the rest of the humans in this realm?”

“Because I felt like having black hair today. Why? Is it against the law or what?”

“Aren’t you afraid of dying? Five million warriors have surrounded this palace. We have five million more coming toward this direction and will be here in less than thirty minutes. If you agreed to follow me peacefully to my father’s palace, I promise not to hurt other Blood Mages.”

“I am no longer a member of the Blood Mages Guild. Whatever I do shouldn't affect them.”

“I wouldn’t say so.”

Sensing a weird attitude in Zemelda’s answer, Kain turned around and saw Etgar along with other Masters had activated their [Vampire Lord Transmutation] spells. Kain then felt guilty for the way he treated them earlier. Despite Kain being disrespected against Etgar in front of other Masters, he and other Masters still decided to save him from being killed by these five million Demi-Humans.

Kain thought to himself, “Looks like there is still hope for Blood Mages Guild after all. My return to the guild didn't go to waste.”

Kain shouted, “Guildmaster, Masters, and members of the Blood Mages Guild. Please stand by and do nothing to assist me. I have killed some Beastmans earlier, now is the time for them to get revenge.”

“Kain, I can’t let you die. I needed you in the guild. Come back inside the palace now because King Volsky is almost here and he can protect you.” Etgar whispered into Kain’s ear using the [Whispering Wind] spell.

“Don’t listen to him. Show off your true power. Let all of them know how powerful you are.” Watcher Tykan continued to offer Kain’s free advice by talking in Kain’s head.

“Kain Bersk, why would you allow my warriors to attack you for ten minutes without fighting back? Are you honestly that strong? Or are you trying to commit suicide?” Zemelda suspiciously asked.

“Give the command for them to attack me, and you will find out.” Kain confidently answered.

“Hmm... You are the first human that dares to do something like that. I don’t want to see you die here today. If you agreed to be my personal slave, I will speak to my father about allowing you and the Blood Mages Guild to live in peace.”

“Hahaha…” Kain couldn’t stop laughing after he heard that.

Kain said, “The ten minutes will start now. If the Beastmans still don’t attack me, then I will walk away after ten minutes’ duration is over. If anyone dares to attack me at that time, then my promise massacring your entire army will go into effect.”

Zemelda was about to give the signal for the Demi-Humans to attack but then another voice shouted out loud from the sky, “Everyone stop!”

Kain shook his head and said, “What now? Why do people keep putting their heads in when I’m trying to show off?”

Kain looked up then saw Etgar’s clone was flying next to a man. Kain then turned toward that man and saw he was flying next to Etgar using a pair of Ice Wings. Kain thought to himself, “An Ice Mage that can fly by creating a pair of Ice Wings? Interesting...”

Etgar’s deactivated the [Replica] spell and his clone that was flying next to Adrik disappeared. Adrik flew from the sky down between Kain and Zemelda as he respectfully greeted, “Princess Zemelda.”

“King Volsky, did the Blood Mages Guild ask for your help again?”

“Indeed, they did. I will speak with Emperor Acilianus about this situation. Would you please signal your army to withdraw from here temporarily?”

“Sorry, but I can’t do that. He killed my warriors earlier and dared to challenge my army to attack him for ten minutes while promising that he wouldn't fight back. Such an ignorant attitude, he needed to be taught a lesson.”

“Princess, he is still a child. Everything he said was just a bunch of rubbish. Please don't take that seriously and let it offend you.”

"I offered him a personal slave position and he dared to refuse. That was a huge disrespect against me, the strongest Princess of the Dryardian Empire."
