Twin Soul

Chapter 12

Chapter 12: (6/12)

“Oh shit! I told him about my secret already. If he gets revived by that Twelve Wings Angel and can actually escape from here. I will be…” Kain bit down his tongue while planning what he should do next. Should he be honest and confessed to Andrella about the stupid thing he just did of exposing himself or sneak away again to find another good opportunity to kill Aber one more time?

Five minutes later. Aber slowly opened his eyes but everything he saw was so blurry. A familiar voice softly called out to him, “Little brother.”

“Sister Violet? Where are we? Are we dead?”

“Yes, but we have been revived. Look around carefully, you will understand.”

Aber looked around and saw he was flying. No, he and Violet were being carried by someone who was flying. Aber looked carefully and saw the person was carrying him and his sister was a Twelve Wings Angel.

Aber asked, “Executioner Berethryl?”

Instead of receiving a reply from Markus, it was just pure silence. “Executioner Berethryl?” Aber asked again but still received no response. Aber turned his head around and saw the vessel of the Red had sunk more than twenty percent while continuously burning densely. Even though Executioner Berethryl was flying very fast, it seems like he wasn’t fast enough because many vampires were catching up to them.

Aber turned to look at Violet and said, “It had to be at least ten thousand vampires chasing after us.”

“I’m sorry.” Markus finally spoke. “I couldn’t rescue anyone else. Lord Hardy is dead. Enye Larson, Executioner Raynard Lynchfield, and Sir Benes Raulnor were still fighting down there but they won’t be able to survive much longer. I can’t continue to fight for a lost battle.”

“Executioner Berethryl. You can’t leave our allies like that. You will lose all the honor you have gained for the past two calendars (two million years)!”

“If I stay to fight, I will surely die. And so will you two. As an Executioner of the Red, I have lost all honor if I couldn’t protect my Lord. I won’t be able to go back to the Mages Council anymore. I have rescued you two so you can bring the news about Blood Mages Guild back to the Mages Council so they can prepare ahead of time before a massive attack from the Blood Mages is launched.”

“What about you, Executioner Berethryl? If you can’t come back to the Mages Council, then where will you go?” Violet asked.

“I will have to become a Rogue Mage. Funny huh? I was an Executioner who hunted down countless Rogue Mages. But now, I will have to become one of them.”

“Why can’t you go back to the Mages Council? I’m sure they will understand your situation and grant you a full pardon. I will vouch for you on the behalf of Hardy Clan.” Aber said. josei

“Executioners and Members of a Color have to fight with their lives to protect their Lord. If their Lord was killed, they will have to avenge their Lord and bring back the head of the killer in order to receive a full pardon. I couldn’t rescue Lord Hardy or kill the Leader of the Blood Mages. He is just too strong. I am near my limit as my mana pool will soon reach depletion. If I come back to the Mages Council, I will be treated as a traitor and be executed publicly to set as an example. I have no other option but to become a Rogue Mage.”

“What about us?” Violet asked.

“Nothing will happen to you two. Aber Hardy, you are a member of the Blue, not the Red. Violet Hardy, you are not under the command of Sir Raulnor. Therefore-”

Markus couldn’t finish explaining to Aber and Violet when he saw a man was flying in front of him. This man had no wings, which meant he had to be a Wind Mage who was using [Wind Walk] spell to fly. Markus asked, “Magic caster, which side are you on? The good, or the evil?”

The man said, “Neither. I am just an observer. I heard you wanted to become a Rogue Mage, why is that?”

“I had no other choice. My Lord was killed, I can’t-”

Markus couldn’t finish the sentence because Etgar and over ten thousand vampires caught up to him. Etgar wasted no time in speaking with Markus or the unknown Wind Mage who was flying in front of him. Etgar knew exactly what he needed to do. He will have to kill all four of them to secure the news about the existence of the Blood Mages Guild from getting back to the Mages Council.

Etgar Revenmar, in his Vampire Lord Flesh Demon form, together with nine other clones casted [Sonic Boom] spells toward Markus and the unknown Wind Mage. Markus casted [Circle of Protection] on himself knowing it won’t be strong enough to blocked ten layers of [Sonic Boom] but it was enough to give him time for chanting another [Purification] to dispelled the ten layers of [Sonic Boom] spells before it could break through his [Circle of Protection].

Markus turned back to look at the Wind Mage and saw he had no interest in either attacking or assisting him. Markus was glad because at least he won’t be able to worry about this Wind Mage while defending against Etgar and his ten thousand vampires. After taking a deep breath, Markus casted [Circle of Protection] spells on Aber and Violet then he said, “Aber Hardy, Violet Hardy, goodbye.”

“Wait, Executioner Berethryl!” Aber didn’t understand what Markus wanted to do but the way he said goodbye meaning he was about to do something unwise.

Aber was killed and revived, which meant he won’t be able to regenerate mana for a month. That was why Markus decided to save Violet as well so she can get him back safely into Bifjorkian Theocracy. Markus spun three hundred sixty degrees and then threw Aber and Violet far away from here. Because his [Circle of Protection] spells were casted on them, Aber and Violet won’t die when they landed on the ground from this height.

“Goodbye…” Markus softly whispered with a smile on his face.

Etgar laughed thinking Markus just wasted his mana on something stupid. Because Etgar won’t allow anybody to escape from here alive. He gave the commands for two thousand vampires to chase after Aber and Violet because he knows for sure there is no way Violet would be able to fight against two thousand vampires at her current level as the tenth-tier warrior.

Putting his smile to an end, Markus stared at Etgar and said, “Do you think I will let any of your filthy vampires chase after them? All of you monsters prepare to die!”
