Though he continued to kiss her cheek, he did not neglect her ears and neck. Soon after, he gradually shifted his lips to the back of her neck, then to her shoulder. His final destination was her exposed back, courtesy of the dress she was wearing.

Song Yu grabbed the railing and heard Qi Chengzhi whisper into her ear, “Do you still remember the officiating dinner for Qilin’s hotel project? When we were on the balcony?”

Unable to utter a single word, Song Yu simply nodded.

“I really wanted to do this, but at that time I wasn’t in your heart yet, and I really regretted not being able to do it,” he whispered and moved his lips to her neck.

She could not help but retract herself at the areas his hands came in contact with. He was slowly reining her in.

It was only when her back was pressed against the cold wall that she realized the balcony was designed in exactly the same way as the balcony in Dynasty’s dining hall.

At that moment, they were also standing to one side, squeezed together so tightly that they were beginning to feel hot.

His lips came attacking hers once again, leaving Song Yu blank. Her hindbrain was pressed against the wall and his kisses made her lose all sense of herself.

Both his hands were placed on her waist. One moved up and the other moved down, causing her dress to wrinkle up.

Song Yu pushed him but to no avail; his lips still remained glued to hers.

However, she could feel his forcefulness decreasing to a point where he was only lightly touching against her. Song Yu found it a bit embarrassing to speak, because if she did so, she would be rubbing against his lips and her breath would be spewed into his mouth.

“What is it?” Qi Chengzhi was the one who spoke first, his lips parting open to allow passage of his hoarse voice.

“People on the street will see us.” Parisian buildings were not generally not tall. Other than the Eiffel Tower, the only other tall building was the Tour Montparnasse. The rest of the buildings were low, and the top of most buildings could be seen with the utmost clarity.

“Let me kiss you more,” Qi Chengzhi said and kissed her lips. “I’m blocking you from everyone outside. No one can see you from below.”

“...” Before Song Yu could open her mouth, Qi Chengzhi was already kissing her passionately. His first sentence was the catalyst to her blushing face.

Back and forth he went from her lips to her neck, as if to reenact the scene from the dinner party.

He was truly protecting her within his arms, embracing her to the point where not a single part of her was exposed to the public eye.

Her lips were finally released just as they were on the verge of losing all sensation due to his kisses. He carried her up and pressed her onto the wall so their eyes were leveled.

“Let’s go in, or else I’ll take you right here in the open.” His voice was hoarse and she could sense the dominance in his tone.

His lustful aura made Song Yu tremble in silence. A nod from her and he carried her up, kissing her as he brought them back to the bedroom.

He was practically on the brink of tearing her dress apart, judging by his swift undoing of her dress zipper and the speed with which he whisked it off of her. He did not even spare a moment to take off her panties—he simply parted them to one side and slid into her flesh.

Song Yu wrapped her arms around him and held him tightly. She locked onto him and felt his muscles bulging out from his upper back like a pair of wings.

Qi Chengzhi kissed her and looked at how beautiful she was. An indescribable feeling of emotion and passion appeared in his heart, and he simply could not get enough of her. He rued not being able to hold her twenty-four hours a day and assimilate her into himself.

Looking at her, he realized that he loved her so much that his heart ached.

He watched as she tilted her head and breathed as though she was choking.

His phone rang incessantly beside them. Song Yu reminded him, but picking up a call was the least of his concerns. She tried pushing him, but in the end, he locked her arms above her head and continued thrusting.

...

...

It was after they were soaked in sweat that Qi Chengzhi released her; she was too tired to move, and she simply let him plant kisses on her while hugging her.

The phone rang plenty of times, but fatigue led Song Yu to ignore the ringing completely. She felt as though the ringing was farther and farther away from her, with its sound getting more and more distant. All her senses had been completely drowned by Qi Chengzhi.

Their silent repose did not last long, for the cell phone began its irritating melody once again.

On that occasion, Song Yu was fully awake and could not turn a deaf ear to the ringing. Qi Chengzhi still did not look like he had any intention of picking up the call. He was leaning over to her, kissing her forehead every now and then, perhaps kissing her nose or her lips, with no sign of ever having enough of it.

“Why don’t you just pick it up? Whoever that’s calling has been at it for so long, it’s definitely something urgent,” Song Yu persuaded.

Leaving her soft body was far from what he had in mind and his eyes looked down at her face. “It’s half-past four back at home. Who in the world would call me at such an early time? The first call was made an hour ago. Shouldn’t the caller be sleeping?”

“Well, since the person is calling you at this hour instead of sleeping, it has to be something really urgent. Go and answer it. Hopefully, nothing happened at home,” Song Yu urged him on.

Qi Chengzhi was roughly able to guess who was calling, but the thought that something might have happened at home was enough to make him get off the bed.

His absence led Song Yu to cover herself up with the blanket, but as it was out in the open, it felt cold. There did not seem to be any different even though she covered herself up.

Qi Chengzhi picked up the phone and saw the caller ID. His expression suggested that he hit the nail on the head with his guess, so he declined the call and switched off his phone.

“Who was it?” Song Yu asked after seeing him walk back without picking the call up.

“Liang Lihua.” He lifted the covers and went into it with her. Song Yu threw herself onto him without even waiting for him to stretch his hand. Her palms were on his chest and her legs were placed against his calf.

“Want another round?” He lowered his head and bit her ear.

“NO!” Song Yu blushed and pinched him softly. “I’m just a bit cold.”

Qi Chengzhi was very happy because her actions meant that she had grown accustomed to being hugged by him while he slept. She was used to his warmth, and even a momentary absence was enough to make her feel lonely.

A thin layer of sweat was still present on his chest, bringing with it a very strong manly scent. Song Yu smelled it and closed her eyes in satisfaction in order to better listen to his beating heart.

“Why would Liang Lihua call you in the wee hours of the morning?” Song Yu had barely finished her question when her phone started ringing.

Her phone was slightly closer as it was placed just beside the bed.

Song Yu flipped over to take it, but Qi Chengzhi stopped her from doing so. “Don’t move. I’ll take it for you.”

He extended his hand over and grabbed the phone, all while positioned on top of her.

Song Yu found it extremely comfortable as she hugged him like a bolster. “Who called?”

Qi Chengzhi had to move his body somewhat to take the phone, so she maneuvered herself and found a more comfortable position to keep him close to her.

No caller ID was displayed, meaning that Song Yu did not keep the number in her contacts.

His photographic memory, however, lent him the ability to recognize the string of numbers as belonging to Liang Lihua.

His expression sunk immediately. So be it then if Liang Lihua phoned him, but what irked him more was that she had the nerve to phone Song Yu.

Liang Lihua’s harassment was something he could try and be patient with, but in harassing Song Yu, Liang Lihua had invoked wrath that resulted from poking her nose into something she had no right to be doing.

“What is it?” His displeased expression was like none other she had ever seen before.

She did, however, see that expression once before.

That was when Qi Chengyue was trying to give Song Yu trouble by causing the employees to go on strike and lock her up in their quarters. He had the same expression now as he had then after rescuing her.

“Who’s calling?” Song Yu asked and caressed his waist.

Her soft but firm movements helped Qi Chengzhi soften his expression. He turned off her phone and kissed her, saying, “Liang Lihua.”

“She called me? Just because you switched off your phone when she kept calling you?” She had meant her question to be rhetorical, as she simply could not fathom that Liang Lihua had gone insane.

Qi Chengzhi placed the phone on the bedside cabinet and continued to hug Song Yu. He heard her ask, “Is it because of Yu Keyao?”

“Mm.” He nodded. “Yu Keyao must’ve complained to her and said all kinds of nonsense.”

Song Yu went momentarily silent. “Her family members are experts when it comes to playing victim.”

“Remember her number. If she calls you again, just ignore it. You don’t need to pick up her calls. Just let me know and I’ll deal with it,” Qi Chengzhi said bluntly. He was still seething.

“Mm,” uttered Song Yu, as it was the only thing she could say. She then went back into his embrace, using actions instead of words to try and make him feel better.

Qi Chengzhi was not oblivious to her intentions. He tilted his head down and looked at her, his lips barely an inch away from her shiny forehead. Her eyes were closed shut, with her long, fan-like lashes nearly coming into contact with his chest.

Her nose was straight, and her cheeks were still red as a result of the lingering aftereffects of pleasure. Her cheeks, as well as the pale undertones of her skin, lent her skin an almost-translucent coloration.

She was quiet, and the more he looked at her, the more contented he became. His hands caressed her back slowly with feelings that leaned more toward tender love than intense passion.

...

...

After waking up the next morning, Qi Chengzhi decided to switch on his phone.

It did not take long for the phone to ring again, with Liang Lihua as the caller. Song Yu was in the bathroom at the time.

Irritated, he picked up the call and went to the balcony.

“QI CHENGZHI! So, you finally dare to pick up the call!” Anger and unhappiness were expressed thoroughly in Liang Lihua’s voice.

He laughed and held the railings. The magnificent view of the Eiffel Tower greeted him as he stood firm and upright.

“I’m only picking up a call. What’s there to be scared of?” Qi Chengzhi asked sarcastically.

“Well, if you weren’t scared, why did you switch off your phone! You’re obviously guilty!” Liang Lihua could not help raising her voice.

The piercing shriek of her voice caused him to frown. He responded curtly, “Mrs. Yu, I suppose your relationship with your husband is so run down that you still have the time to harass me at three or four in the early morning? Don’t forget, it’s only eight or nine in the evening in Paris. My fiancée and I have plenty of happy activities to be doing on the bed. We don’t have time to attend to you.”

“You...” Liang Lihua did not expect Qi Chengzhi—a man of such elegance and decorum—to say those kinds of harsh words, more so to someone like her who was his elder. She fumed so severely that her face was red, and a gasp of air was stuck at her throat, making her forget that she should be taking a breath.

“QI CHENGZHI! Is that how you talk to your elders?” Liang Lihua was trembling from anger. “SHAMELESS!” she screamed, but it would have made her feel better if she screamed at him face-to-face.

Qi Chengzhi sneered and replied, “Mm, my fiancée says the same about me all the time.”

As angry as Liang Lihua was, she did not know how best to scold him. She felt like she was punching against a sponge—no matter how much energy she tried to exert, none could make a dent.

When Qi Chengzhi used the word fiancée with such intimateness and pride, Liang Lihua felt completely disgusted at the mention of it.

“Qi Chengzhi, I didn’t call you because I wanted to hear how good your relationship with Song Yu is!” Liang Lihua exploded angrily, “I don’t give a damn about your feelings with Song Yu, but you can’t just bully my daughter like that! She’s just a young girl. If you’re not touched that she went to Paris to look for you, then so be it. Why the hell do you have to throw her out onto the street?

“You even booked all the remaining hotel rooms, am I right? But you weren’t even willing to let her stay in any one of them. Even if you’re annoyed at her, how could you have the heart to do such a thing to her? She has no one to rely on in Paris. What if something happens to her? Will you own up and be responsible? How can you just throw a young girl like her onto the street and let her fend for herself? Did it not cross your mind that she’ll get into trouble on the streets if she doesn’t have anywhere to go for the night?!

“Will you compensate if something happens to my daughter?!” Liang Lihua shrieked. Although she knew that Yu Keyao was in no danger, the thought that such a possibility may arise was enough to scare her senseless.

“I”d rather book a few rooms and leave them empty, than let her stay in the same hotel. I don’t want her to harass Song Yu and I. The hell does her well-being have to do with me? Her legs are hers, and if she wants to come, I can’t stop her. If I could stop her, I would’ve long wished for her not to bother me. I’d like to ask you something, Mrs. Yu. My irritation with your daughter has reached its limit, yet she’s still coming after me with that thick skin of hers. What’s more, you still have the cheek to come and question me? What in God’s name is wrong with both your brains?”

“YOU...” Liang Lihua was so angry that she was out of breath. “Qi Chengzhi. Are you even human? Do you even have a heart? Do you have any compassion at all?”

“I do. My heart is with Song Yu, and so is my compassion.” Qi Chengzhi sounded particularly stern at that juncture.

Liang Lihua was exasperated. It was the first time she had felt so helpless before. Qi Chengzhi did not seem to care at all, no matter what she tried to tell him.

Her questions were ladened was sarcasm, but to her surprise, he answered them earnestly.

She was left utterly speechless, although the fire within her continued to burn as she had no avenue to release it.

“Qi Chengzhi, if my daughter...” Liang Lihua did not have any sensible argument left, but she knew that if she did not say something, the anger within her would never be quelled.

She had yet to complete her sentence when Qi Chengzhi’s cold voice interrupted her. “Mrs. Yu, when I’m back, I’ll personally pay Yu Zixiu a visit.”

He hung up without waiting for her response.

Liang Lihua stared blankly at the abruptly cut phone call and was left frightened by the frigid tone of his last words.

Never did she encounter such a terrifying voice before, she had also never imagined that a person’s voice could be so unnerving. There was no need for him to make a clear-cut threat, for the tone was sufficient to convey his message and scare the daylights out of people.

His last words played in her mind repeatedly. He would be paying Yu Zixiu a visit...

Yu Zixiu was the head of the Yu family, so all the power lay in his hands.

Liang Lihua held her phone tightly and gnashed her teeth as she left the house.

Qi Chengzhi called Cheng Dongge immediately after hanging up on Liang Lihua. “Get in touch with Yu Zixiu. Set a time for us to meet when I return to the country.”

...

...

Song Yu had finished freshening up when Qi Chengzhi ended the call.

He was still standing at the balcony, and since he did not have to go to the company, he sported a casual combo of lounge pants and a thin striped T-shirt.

With his back facing the room, Song Yu saw his sturdy-looking silhouette. The striped shirt, though thin and not too fitted, still managed to accentuate the handsome curve of his back and the robustness of his wide shoulders.

She thought about how everyone would glue their eyes onto him if they ever laid eyes on his shirtless body.

Song Yu fanned herself with her hands, wondering whether she was becoming more and more perverted since she was thinking about his naked body when he was clearly wearing clothes.

He turned around and caught her fanning herself while blushing.

He cocked a brow and had a teasing look in his eye; it was precisely that self-confident and narcissistic personality that made him so annoying.

“What was it you thought about that made your face red?” He sat near her and looked at her reddened face with those teasing eyes.

“Nothing,” she blurted softly. Obviously, she was not about to just admit it.

Qi Chengzhi then let out a sarcastic laugh. “I reckon you were thinking about something naughty. Otherwise, there wouldn’t be any reason for you to blush so hard. You must be really naughty deep down.”

By then, Song Yu’s ears were burning too, and she could not help but look up at him in curiosity. Her eyes met with his taunting gaze.

Song Yu had a guilty conscience because she felt as though he knew what her deepest thoughts were.

No longer daring to look at him, she looked down, only to catch sight of his pant zipper. Her mind drifted to thoughts of what lay underneath, and how it massaged her insides so violently the night before. Song Yu felt even weaker in the knees, shifting her eyes yet again, this time to his chest.

She then recalled the various things her hand, lips, and tongue did to his chest; thinking of that made her brain explode even more.

She did not understand how or why she became so shameless the night before, to the point where she practically went mad and pressed him down in order to shower him with kisses.

Her entire body felt weak and her wetness was overflowing. She felt very uneasy with him sitting beside her as she had the feeling that he could sense something going on with her.

Qi Chengzhi saw how her eyes were being careful not to wander; she neither raised her head nor looked down, and her red ears—which his lips caressed—made her look so innocently submissive.

His lips could feel the hotness of her ears, and he could not control himself from kissing it and rubbing against it.

Her reddened face and trembling body betrayed her thoughts—he knew she was thinking about the night before. An itch formed in his throat and he seemed to be quite pleased.

“Do you know what men look for in a wife?” His tone was full of innuendo as he crooned her and held her waist.

Song Yu was so shy that she fell silent and trembled due to his constant caressing.

He chuckled softly and said, “One who’s a lady on the street, a housewife in the home, and a freak under the sheets.”

His lips grazed her earlobes and moved slowly to her soft lips. “You fit all three of them. I’m very lucky.”
