Chapter 112: The Holy Grail War is Over?!

Upon hearing Sakura's innocent and straightforward words, Gill felt that they were extremely inappropriate. Although they were merely childish remarks, he believed that Sakura was biased against him!

While he could have ignored it, Gill decisively made a statement to Sakura.

"Sakura, listen carefully. The term 'gaming otaku' cannot be applied to someone as magnificent as I am. You should regard me as the King of Heroes... no, I am already the King of Heroes!"

"Understood."

"Mmm." Seeing Sakura back down and no longer referring to him as a gaming otaku, Gill felt extremely happy.

Meanwhile, Sakura pondered in her heart, 'EUO? Does he want me to call him EUO NEET?'

At dawn, inside the church of the Holy Church in Fuyuki City, an elderly priest stood with his back to two rows of pews. On the numerous pews, various Familiars perched, each one unique. There were pigeons, bats, and even stone-like flying puppets. But among them, the most distinctive was a quadcopter drone.

Once all the Familiars of the Masters had arrived and settled on the church pews, the elderly priest named Kotomine Risei turned around, his eyes closed, and delivered a resounding speech in fluent Mandarin to all the Masters' Familiars present.

"I am the overseer of this Holy Grail War, known as Kotomine Risei."

"This may be the first time you are meeting me, and you must be curious why I have chosen this particular moment to request the participation of all the Masters."

"The Holy Grail War has come to an end."

After uttering these words, the Familiars of the Masters, who were observing Kotomine Risei's speech, went into an uproar. At this moment, every person's internal thoughts could be summarized as, 'Who am I? Where am I? Is it about to start... wait, it's already over?'

After allowing the Masters some time to release their pent-up emotions, Kotomine Risei raised his hands, signaling for everyone's attention to be on him.

"I know you are impatient, but please, hold off for now. Even if you send it, it won't make any difference."

"If you're wondering why, I can only say that the Holy Grail has chosen someone else, and that person's wish has already been fulfilled."

"I, Kotomine Risei, the overseer of the Fourth Holy Grail War, hereby declare,"

"The Fourth Holy Grail War has come to an end."

After delivering this statement, Kotomine Risei refrained from making any further remarks. Instead, he promptly ordered all the Masters' Familiars to swiftly depart from the Holy Church. This domain was only accessible during meetings.

Lying in the intensive care unit of Fuyuki Hospital, Kiritsugu gazed at the screen with empty eyes, as if his heart had died. As the only Master who ended up in the ICU throughout the entire Holy Grail War, Kiritsugu's inner self was in shambles.

Two nights ago, he devised a plan to destroy the Fuyuki Grand Hotel, where the Master of the female Servant dressed similarly to Rider resided. He discovered that the Master of the red-clad female Servant was Kayneth El-Melloi Archibald, a Lord from the Clock Tower, and he was staying at the Fuyuki Grand Hotel. However, the plan almost cost him his life before it could be executed.

To his surprise, there wasn't just the female Servant, but also a shining golden Servant at that location!

Then, yesterday morning, he decided to target the stronghold of the Servant who had defeated the female Servant. He orchestrated a diversion by alerting the authorities, hoping to lure Gudako into assisting.

However, the result was a loss for his side, as they ended up losing an Archer-class Servant, resulting in a significant disadvantage.

Later in the evening, when Gudako led a large force to capture a Caster, they were intercepted by the Schrdinger group of Servants who launched an ambush during the day. It led to a magnificent second round of casualties.

Meanwhile, Kiritsugu himself was thousands of kilometers away from the battlefield, dealing with the aftermath of the clash between Saber and "Schrdinger's Cat." He executed a precise strike, sending a massive rock towards his location.

In that moment, Kiritsugu genuinely believed he would be lost on that rooftop. However, ultimately, his resilience proved to be stronger. He miraculously survived being hit by a giant rock that was propelled into the air from a kilometer or two away and then fell at a tremendous speed. It was something he had never fathomed.

Though he managed to survive, he realized that he probably wouldn't be leaving the hospital for the next few months. As he recounted each incident, Kiritsugu felt that he was perhaps the most tragic Master in the entire Holy Grail War, without a doubt. Even if there were others, they would have to include Gudako, who seemingly vanished like fireworks.

"How could this happen...? I prepared for the Holy Grail War for eight years, and it just ends like this? It's... over?!" Iris' expression was no better than Kiritsugu's as she listened to Risei's words on the display screen.

Setting aside the matter of the Lesser Grail, let's focus on one thing: throughout the entire Holy Grail War, only two Servants were summoned, and both of them were summoned by Gudako herself and subsequently defeated by her own faction. This can be described as a self-contained cycle.

In the actual process, it would require sacrificing the souls of at least six Servants to fulfill the prerequisite for activating the Holy Grail. But the current situation is that the Lesser Grail is still intact, and the Servants participating in the Holy Grail War are all fine. All that happened last night was a minor skirmish that resulted in the destruction of six fireworks.

And then... and then the Holy Grail was taken by some random newcomer??

"...It shouldn't have been like this." Kiritsugu's gaze remained vacant as he looked ahead, as if his spirit had died.

Noticing Kiritsugu's expression, Iris felt a sense of unease and asked with concern, "Kiritsugu, are you okay?"

"I'm fine."

Upon hearing Kiritsugu's response, Iris was about to breathe a sigh of relief when she saw him trembling and unsteadily sitting up from the bed.

"I lied to you..."

After pausing for a moment to gather his emotions, Kiritsugu immediately wore an expression of complete despair. His teeth clenched tightly, and from Iris' position, she could see the force he was exerting, even hearing a creaking sound. She was genuinely afraid he might shatter his molars.

"Waaahhh!" Kiritsugu burst into uncontrollable tears, leaning forward and removing his breathing mask.

While sobbing in anguish, he shouted, "What kind of joke is this?! What kind of Holy Grail War is this? It's absurd!"

"What kind of joke, what kind of Holy Grail War is this? It's absurd!" (lmao they break the edgy lord here)
