Chapter 150: Red Archer Gets Confused!!!

The sound of Tom's heavy thumping was accompanied by the bewildered expression on Red Archer's face. He couldn't make sense of Tom's sudden change in behavior.

Seeing Tom bowing before him, Red Archer was bombarded with question marks in his mind. If it weren't for the fact that the situation felt off, he might have asked, "Why are you performing this ritual of three kneels and nine kowtows, my friend?"

Meanwhile, Tom had finished his bowing and was now kneeling on the ground, hands clasped together in a pleading gesture, shaking and trembling with fear. His tearful face showed the utmost sadness, hoping that Red Archer would spare his life. It was evident that Tom was terrified to the core, and no one would blame him for wetting himself in such a situation.

Red Archer couldn't help but feel puzzled by Tom's sudden change in tactics. He had expected the cat to attack him mercilessly, but now he found himself facing a groveling cat instead. The whole situation left him utterly confused.

"Um...?" Red Archer's mind was filled with question marks again. Tom's unexpected actions had thrown him off balance, and he couldn't figure out what the cat was up to. Even though Tom had knelt before him, Red Archer knew better than to blindly trust him. He couldn't afford to fall for any tricks.

Red Archer decided to lower his guard slightly but kept his hands firmly on the large sword in front of him, ready to strike at any moment. Although Tom was kneeling, Red Archer knew better than to believe that the cat had truly backed down. He had to be cautious.

As Red Archer adjusted his grip on the sword, Tom's whole body trembled with fear again. The sudden movement startled him to the core. Tom was relieved that he had already scared his soul out before, or else he might have done it again now.

Red Archer noticed Tom's reaction when he changed his grip on the sword. It seemed like Tom was afraid of the large sword. As Red Archer pondered, he realized that the sword was a replica of a Celtic hero's weapon, and that's when the thought struck him: "Could it be that this large sword-type Noble Phantasm has a special effect against Tom?"

However, there was a problem with this theory. Tom, a Schrdinger's cat raised by a German, shouldn't be affected by a Celtic weapon, right? This whole situation felt peculiar.

As Red Archer tried to make sense of it all, he kept his guard up, unsure of Tom's true intentions. The cat's actions had put him on high alert, and he was prepared for anything that might come his way.

"However, since the ability to launch a special attack is present, all of this becomes inconsequential. As for the reason behind the special attack, let's ponder upon it after defeating Tom. There's no meaning in contemplating it now.

"Hohoho, the heavens favor me!" Red Archer exclaimed.

Upon realizing that the artifact he had casually picked up was effective against Tom, Red Archer was overjoyed. Possessing a weapon capable of defeating Tom meant he now had hope of escaping this predicament.

Such a great surprise left Red Archer absolutely delighted. Yet, amid his elation, he failed to notice that one of the dogs on the other side of the smoke had disappeared.

Despite his excitement, Red Archer did not slack in his actions. Now aware of the weapon's potential to launch a special attack against Tom, he prepared for the strike, ready to vanquish him.

"There's nothing left to fear." Red Archer smiled with confidence as he looked at Tom, who was kneeling and pleading for mercy.

Having spoken those words, Red Archer readied himself to send Tom back to the Throne of Heroes.

Tom was a formidable enemy, as evidenced by the recent battle. Red Archer acknowledged this and knew that he must eliminate him.

All of this was... for Gudako to save the world!

However, just at that moment, a shadow enveloped Red Archer. It was as if a colossal presence had appeared behind him, steadily drawing nearer.

Sensing a chill down his back, Red Archer instinctively attempted to turn around and counter-attack.

"Ah-wu~." Before Red Archer could react, a wide mouth covered his head completely.

The one who swallowed Red Archer's head was Spike, who, after the previous clash of Noble Phantasms, discreetly maneuvered behind Red Archer amid the explosion's smoke.

Seeing Red Archer being swiftly taken out by Spike, Tom, who had just been on his knees begging for mercy, immediately sprang to his feet and excitedly shouted, "Woo-hoo!"

If one had not witnessed the recent events, it would have been hard to believe that Tom was pleading on the ground moments ago.

Feeling his entire head enclosed in a foul mouth, Red Archer fell from the elation of victory to the depths of despair. He swung his sword frantically, accompanied by a mournful cry, "Woo-woo-woo-woo-woo!!!"

However, no matter how he swung, he couldn't hit anything. Every swing ended up as a perfect miss.

With Spike holding Red Archer's head, he was ready to savor the moment and ascertain whether this man, who claimed to be a "sword-boned" individual, was indeed made of bones. However, Red Archer's repeated sword swings narrowly missed himself, which annoyed Spike.

If it weren't for Red Archer's head in his mouth, Spike would have given him a good thrashing to quiet him down and relish his flavor slowly. But refraining from a fierce fight didn't mean he couldn't use other means to stop Red Archer's struggles. Seeing Red Archer almost swing the sword into himself once again, Spike decisively reached out and snatched the large sword away.

With both hands firmly gripping the sword, Spike applied force from both ends and effortlessly twisted the artifact into a useless iron ring, completely altering its appearance.

As the weapon slipped from his grasp, Red Archer fell into deep despair once more, helplessly struggling.

But he understood all too well that none of this had any meaning anymore. If Spike were to exert just a bit of force, he would be finished.

At the brink of death, he finally unraveled the mystery from before - why a late Celtic artifact could have a special attack against Schrdinger's cat, a creature supposedly of German origin. It was as bizarre as using an ancient dynasty's sword to decapitate a contemporary official. Turns out, it was all an elaborate act put on by Tom!

Tom's true intention was to feign surrender to divert Red Archer's attention, allowing that treacherous dog-like creature to sneak behind him and launch a dishonorable ambush.

It was one thing for the weak to employ such cunning tactics, but Tom could have easily finished him off without resorting to such deceitful schemes. Red Archer couldn't fathom the purpose behind these machinations.

Faced with this sly and malicious Familiar cat, Red Archer could only exclaim in bitterness within his heart, "I am a fool to believe you!"
