Undying Warlord

Chapter 316 Slaughtering Goats

Chapter 316 Slaughtering Goats

Dilan was not satisfied with his movements and the final result of the battle against the double-headed thunder goat. He had wanted to move with much more agility, which shouldn’t have been a problem in ordinary circumstances.

However, when he faced the double-headed thunder goat, the electricity net had affected his nerve system, which in turn made it more difficult for him to move in the ways he wanted to without any restrictions.

It was quite annoying, especially since being bombarded with electricity currents brought a lot of pain. Nonetheless, Dilan fought and defeated the strongest goat in the horde in a matter of seconds by utilizing his overwhelming speed and strength.

Afterward, he allowed the others to fight to their heart’s content. Dilan chose to simply watch the three women fight close to 300 monsters at the same time and he was not dissatisfied with what he saw.

Victoria focused on attacking all the goats in batches of a dozen and more. She created small Blood-Icicles that were aimed at the vital spots of the monsters she attacked. This worked out pretty decently as Victoria’s control over her Blood-Ice was precise, while her attacks were faster than most goats could evade.

Out of a batch of a dozen monsters, more than half of them received severe injuries in every single attack of hers, while the rest sustained either light injuries or none at all. Victoria didn’t seem to mind either of these because she always turned her attention to a new batch of goats when she finished her attack on the previous group.

By doing so, Victoria weakened her opponents gradually, leaving injured monsters, which could be taken care of by Kathrine or Yvonne.

Yvonne controlled two Silver Tier-1 Minotaurs as usual. They wielded huge mazes that cut through all the bones in the goats they attacked. The Skeleton Minotaurs were not as fast or their bodies as strong as they had been when they were still alive.

However, their strength was still exceptional and as Undeads they were beings with infinite stamina. Yvonne could throw them in the center of hundreds of monsters and as long as their Essence Crystal was not destroyed, she would be able to control them.

Her Origin ability [Angel of Death] was exceptional and to make proper use of it, she had chosen the strongest unit of monsters she could control, for now. Yvonne used the Minotaurs as a meatshield and bodyguards while joining the fight by herself as well.

With a unique fighting style that made use of her Special trait [Wings of the Fallen Angel], Yvonne was able to attack in unpredictable ways, catching her opponents by surprise. Even Dilan could usually not determine what Yvonne would do, especially when she started to use her death energy which could easily be misunderstood as darkness affinity.

She was able to use death energy from the accumulated energy of the dead which her Origin ability absorbed. One of her Occupational passive abilities was to accumulate death energy and her active ability was to control and release the death energy.

Her Occupation was the [Legendary] ranked [Fallen Angel]. Despite having no direct relation to death energy, Yvonne’s occupation had metamorphosed to accommodate her Origin ability [Angel of Death].

“Death Curse…she has upgraded it a few times already…” Dilan mumbled when he saw that a thick membrane of gloomy darkness appeared around the two Undead Minotaurs that she controlled.

Just like Dilan’s [Switch], Yvonne’s [Death Curse] was a Growth ability. Upgrading them was extremely easy because the only requirement was to provide it with enough Essences. Yvonne’s [Death Curse] had already advanced to Tier-0, and it was only a matter of time before it would reach Tier-1.

Dilan was quite impressed by Yvonne’s progress and her abilities. He didn’t envy her but her fighting style and her abilities were definitely something that left a long-lasting impression.

However, a terrific impression was something all three women were able to leave behind. Victoria was still holding back some of her powers, especially her abilities but her Blood-Ice was already more than enough to show that she was extremely powerful.

As for Kathrine, her speed was close to 80 Units after she activated one of her occupational abilities in combination with her special trait. With such high Agility, no ordinary monster would be strong enough to face her. Only Gold Tier-1 monsters might be able to do something against Kathrine.

Her special trait allowed her to control everything related to electricity with extreme precision. This made it much easier and faster for her to initiate and release her [Compressed Lightning Strike]. Kathrine wanted to upgrade her [Compressed Lightning Strike] ability because it was not only her first ability but also the ability that caused the most lethal damage to her opponents when hit with it.

Her Occupation [Lightning Warrior] was mostly adept at amplifying her physical strength, and her control over bolts of lightning. It didn’t provide her with an additional lighting-based offensive ability, which one would normally expect. Kathrine had been a bit stupefied when she had advanced to Tier-1 with the Rare+ [Lightning Warrior] occupation. After all, she had picked it to improve her lethal power with the sword, and to gain more abilities that were related to lightning.

In the end, her occupation might be different than Kathrine had expected but it allowed her to fight powerful opponents nonetheless. She was not as powerful as her sister but Kathrine could fight on her own as well. It was not necessary for anyone to protect her because the strength she had attained on her own was everything she needed.

With that in mind, Kathrine turned into a flash that obliterated the hordes of monsters that she killed with rapid and precisely executed slashes.

Dilan was still observing the fight from a distance and looked at the three women with interest. Each of them created their own small battlefield without even thinking about fighting together.

The three women were greedy to become stronger and that was something Dilan could clearly see. They were trying to fight as many monsters as possible, which resulted in a somewhat chaotic battle. Victoria was the first to kill more than a hundred opponents after she began to actively hunt them. The vampire turned into a whirlwind the moment more than 70 goats had been severely injured by her Blood-Icicles.

Dilan didn’t understand her tactic completely but it didn’t really matter because it worked out perfectly fine. Victoria didn’t even break out in a sweat when she finished off the last of approximately 100 goats, piercing through their skull with her claws.

She smiled in utter excitement, which was something that had influenced Dilan as well. He wanted to keep fighting and to face some powerful monsters around him.

However, that was hardly possible right now because the Thunder Plateau’s strongest monsters seemed to be on par with the double-headed thunder goat, and that monster was certainly not an existence on par with a Tier-2 existence!

‘Well, I shouldn’t be too excited. I will probably have to fight more than enough Tier-2 existences the moment the Vampires arrive…upgrading my abilities should be of the highest priority right now!’ Dilan realized while thinking of ways to accelerate his hunt and kill count.

Advancing [Thunder Step] to Tier-1 was just the start. If possible, he would have loved to upgrade it even further, especially since his Divine occupation increased the star-rating of his abilities by two stars.

Dilan wanted to make use of this because he had expected the War against the Vampires to become bloody…very bloody.

“I wonder…should I try to force everyone to level up and reach Tier-2 in the next few days…”
