Chapter 399 Lucky? My foot!
Dilan didn't have a reason to stay in the encirclement of the werewolves, nor did he have any desire to chit-chat with the Alpha Lord and the Vampire Lord.
After he advanced to the second Tier, Dilan's strength had increased to a state, where the number of opponents that could fight head-on with him was extremely low.
The two were quite arrogant considering that their strength was much lower than his. That was also why he gave them a small lecture.
"Wouldn't you usually kill everyone?" Victoria asked all of a sudden as she looked at him with gleaming eyes. She knew that Dilan wouldn't mindlessly kill others but whenever someone attacked him, he would usually return the favor and slap some interest on the principal amount generously.
Yet, the situation had an anticlimactic end, which was rather uncommon in Victoria's opinion.
"I have killed more than enough in the last three days. I'm a bit tired of it right now. Furthermore, we can make use of the Vampires and Werewolves if something troublesome were to happen!" Dilan answered without giving his answer a great deal of thought.
Victoria was still shocked at Dilan's display of strength but she could keep calm because his strength was everything that had changed. His personality was still the same as before, and that was reassuring.
"I heard that you turned all hybrids into your underlings, your small army. What are you planning to do with them?" Dilan asked, glancing over at Victoria.
There were numerous things Victoria could do with the Hybrids but the best would probably be to turn them into an elite combat unit.
These hybrids possessed the racial traits of both werewolves and vampires. That being said, they were extremely powerful and could become good fighters as long as they were nourished properly.
"I'm not sure yet. Right now, we've helped them level up to Level 10 with the stats limit of 20 Units, and we're looking for suitable occupations for everyone. Of course, they should be of a high grade, [Extraordinary] or above if possible, but that's easier said than done," Victoria sighed deeply and she helplessly lifted her hands.
There were many things Victoria wanted to do but the Hybrids took up way more time than she expected. However, somehow, she felt that it was her responsibility to nourish and look after and she was sure that it would be worth it.
Dilan nodded his head without saying anything as they finally emerged out of the encirclement of the Werewolves. Yvonne, Sven, and Xenia saw them and they approached Dilan and Victoria with hurried steps.
"Dilan…just what happened to you in the last three days?!" Xenia asked, baffled by what she had just witnessed. She knew very well that only Yvonne was stronger than the Alpha Lord.
As for the Vampire Lord, he seemed to be very powerful at first until Dilan defeated him in a single move without using his physical strength, or an ability. Dilan had clearly dominated both the Vampire Lord and the fully beastified Alpha Lord. That was truly terrifying and spoke volumes about his strength.
However, right now, Dilan looked like a perfectly ordinary young man without overwhelming strength. This sudden change felt a bit weird to everyone but it was not as if Xenia or the other human Ascenders had anything against it. They were exhilarated that Dilan was finally back, and had returned much stronger than ever before!
"How high are your stats?" Yvonne asked straightforwardly after failing to assess his strength on her own. Everyone looked at her with squinted eyes for a quarter of a second, feeling that this question was rude to ask, but they were also interested in knowing the answer, which was why their head flicked back to Dilan, whom they eyed curiously.
"Let's just say that I can fight Tier-3 monsters easily," Dilan answered without actually answering the question he had been asked.
Yet, what he revealed was already enough to make them feel utterly stunned because it was not too long ago when they had struggled to fight a Bronze Tier-2 monster!
Now that they thought about it, it hadn't even been two months since the Primordial Ascension had happened and many things had changed…too many to count and take note of.
"If there are no more questions, I'll take a look at the Sanctum's smithy. I have a few things for Old Jeff," Dilan changed the topic quickly and his interest returned to the more important matters.
He had quite a few body parts of monsters that Old Jeff could use to create stronger weapons and pieces of armor than he had ever produced.
With that in mind, Dilan went on his way to the smithy and walked towards the sound of hammering which he could hear from far away. The others followed him without a word, just to feel more and more shocked after Dilan found Old Jeff.
"Old Man, I brought you some things you might be able to work with in the future!" Dilan said with a childlike glee before he accessed his spatial ring to retrieve a bunch of items.
Several meter-long fangs, huge scales the size of an adult's upper body, claws the size of an adult man, and many more interesting treasures tumbled out of his ring and scattered all over the smithy's ground. The few blacksmiths, who had already moved to the Sanctum after the first smithy had been installed, looked at Dilan for a few seconds before their eyes flew wide at the sight of the treasures of monsters' body parts.
They could clearly sense the aura from all these materials. It was an aura that was much denser and purer than any material they had processed in their short life as blacksmiths after the Primordial Ascension had occurred, clearly indicating the material to be something grand and invaluable.
In terms of materials, auras were the remnants of mana and other energies that were left behind within them. They were an important indicator to determine the grade and quality of materials, which was also why it was so important to preserve the materials.
After all, one wouldn't want to deteriorate the quality of great materials in any way!
However, the way Dilan presented all the materials, one could tell that he didn't feel much about them. It was almost as if the materials were garbage to him, which was utter nonsense.
"These are body parts of Tier-3 Flood Dragons, and various Tier-4 monsters," Dilan answered in response to Old Jeff's confused expression before he added, "I don't know how long it will take you guys before you can actually process and use these materials but I thought it would be great to have a small stockpile for the time when someone can create weapons and protective garments with them!"
Dilan handed Old Jeff a small storage ring, which he had bought from the Essence Shop when he was still on the abandoned island. Only after that did he notice that the atmosphere was a bit chilly.
He looked around and saw that he was eyed weirdly.
"What's wrong?" He could only ask but the others shook their heads. They couldn't believe that Dilan was actually asking them what could be wrong.
"Just think about it. Didn't you just tell us that you brought body parts of Tier-3 FLOOD DRAGONS and TIER-4 monsters? You killed them all by yourself, didn't you??" Yvonne asked, feeling like she was talking to a five-year-old.
Dilan was truly likable in most situations but there were instances when one wished to have the patience not want to beat him to a pulp. Too bad, even if they didn't have the patience, they would never be able to even ruffle his hair without his permission.
And right now was one of these moments!
"Yeah, I killed them, but I was just a little bit lucky at the beginning of my advancement mission, hehe," Dilan answered with a light smile on his lips.
However, nobody else was able to laugh because they had one particular thought flashing through their mind.
'So you were lucky…and you killed various Tier-4 monsters because of that….'
